We tried a free art class here and I got to sit in the class. The teacher was very patient and taught her to first draw each line curve etc then they used oil pastels to color, next they used water paint to paint, then they used clay to make dirt. Our trial class is the excavator picture you see. We were very amazed at how much she learned in that one session. We enrolled her immediately. There are multiple make up sessions throughout the week if you need to miss your regularly scheduled class for vacation etc and option to do one on one make up class as last resort as well. We love the staff here and know she'll be in good hands and learn more of her passion here. There's multiple classes going on at the same time based on different art class levels. I've seen kids make sushi with different color clays etc and I've seen kids sketching when I'm pick up or dropping off my daughter so there's definitely lots to learn. I can see why happy Picasso is so popular around here after trying it out myself. When my daughter turns 7 and if she's interested, they also offer digital art class which will be useful for her in the future as well. Teachers here are very patient with the students. It's a little better than a few schools in Santa Clara county because back when I was here as a civilian, there was a very low dropout rate. Students I worked with here were very studious and have high achievement levels. Those who are taking advanced classes usually do well without outside help which never happens at schools in my county of residence. Extracurriculars are hassle free. Back when I worked in Millbrae, I could tell kids here enjoy being a student athlete here. Drawback: If you are a visitor on the weekend and need to use the field, please register for a permit. All in one location! I don't have to spend a day on the weekend for a music class or language class. The rooms separate kids by age / skill level and is organized and clean. The study materials motivate my kids to learn challenging math for their age. I find my kids' are more proficient in math compared to the kids at public school. During this past winter break, instead of staying at home, my kid asked to go to Mimi so they can do more math. Last but not least, the teachers care about the progress of my kids. My kid didn't want to practice music and when I told the teachers, they sent a personal voice message to encourage and motivate my child.

And as much as I would like to hear "great job" everytime, there is great value in having an instructor/coach who challenges you to become better than "good" - good reads are good but "great reads" get the part!!!!
