Tucked away in a small strip mall, I'd never seen or heard of Spa Dabin before, but I'm so glad my friend knew of it! She used to frequent their location in Old Town before moving to the suburbs. This location is a bit on the smaller side and the layout felt a little peculiar. We were greeted warmly and given our choice of aromatherapy options for the pedicure. They had a great selection of colors in all of the standard brands. The pedicure itself was great - very relaxing and the woman who did mine went above and beyond to remove some calluses. The pedicure seats are across from a tv but if the volume was on at all, it wasn't noticeable. We were easily able to hold a conversation. When we moved to the dryers, we each got a quick but very nice neck and shoulder massage. Pricing was comparable to other nail salons in the area, and I appreciated being able to tip right from Venmo.

The color was not solid, the tech tried to fix one with a normal nail polish, and the dip was in my cuticles on some nails. I scheduled an appointment at studio s to have it taken off and re-done. Because my nails were just clipped and filed the day before, she charged me at a reduced rate and was the most kind & attentive technician I've ever had. A great establishment with great people. Whoever helped me exclusively used a drill, I am assuming because she wanted to save time. I had to tell her multiple times that my nail bed was getting too hot and even jumped in pain. Only once ever did I get a removal service like this elsewhere and I never went back - unfortunately I won't be back at this location either. Two weeks later and my nails are still splitting as the grow up and in incredible pain. In short, It took me weeks and weeks to grow my nails out and now I have to start from square -10. This is hurts like crazy, I told the lady she was drilling too much and she said "that's what she had to do". This is just unacceptable.

I've been looking specifically for dazzle dry manicures around the area, and that's how I found Legen--wait for it--dary, and I booked online. They did reschedule my appointment because the original nail tech couldn't do DD. Gulzat handled my manicure and did a very nice job, we talked about perfumes (Baccarat Rouge, she complimented me), she offered me a drink, changed up the color when I asked for more sparkle, and did a neat and clean job, nice cuticles. The manicure was a bit more compared to the other salons I've been to recently, and my hands were dry (no lotion). There are other beauty services offered at Legen--I'm allergic to--dary, so I might check them out. All jokes aside, I think my manicure at Legendary was nicely done. I'll come back to Legen--wait for it--

Anyway, I sought out this salon because they offer dazzle dry (I searched for locations on Yelp). I was the only customer on a snowy evening, and Laura gave me a nice manicure, and even, unexpectedly, a shoulder massage. There were not a lot of colors to choose from, although I appreciated the quick neat job. Two days later though, one of my nails had a very rough edge and the nail chipped off. (Dazzle dry is supposed to last 7-10 days). I did have an overall good experience and will come back another time I need a dazzle dry mani.
