It is located in an unassuming strip mall. We weren't sure what to expect as it almost looked close. But once inside we were greeted by the two delightful owners. We engaged in wonderful conservation with them as they took our orders and then prepared our drinks. Each drink was made with care. They made sure to understand the dietary restrictions in our party. There is a long coffee flag so that's when you know that you are in the correct place. The different name on the building through me off. It's very spacious inside with plenty of seating. We were greeted and given menus which we then found a high top table, sat down and looked it over. We decided on the Alyssa crepes and morning glory sandwich. Allysa crepe- I would have ordered another plate if we didn't have another 2 hr drive to go. Between the fluffy eggs and the combination of the ingredients with absolutely mouth watering. I asked for hot sauce and it was complete. I would drive out of my way to come back here again. Morning glory sandwich- I don't know who raised these chickens to give such a different taste to them, but they were raised right. These were definitely happy chickens. Hard to explain but this sandwich and those fluffy eggs will keep you wanting more. Everyone there is so sweet and I'm happy to have had the experience of such an excellent breakfast. We had been going to one in High Point but discovered this local one and gave it a shot! The esthetics of the location are so nice. A cozy coffee shop that has sufficient seating and some neat features! There is a coffee table the is a chalkboard on top where you can sit and doodle as you enjoy your drinks and snacks. We then discovered there's a whole wall of chalkboard! The girls loved being creative as Mom and Grandma relaxed. The employees are so sweet and gracious. I'd like to highlight Lorin in particular! She was so patient and accommodating with my 8 year old granddaughter who tends to interact on a high level. She engaged with her, even joined in on writing on the chalkboard with her! When Lorin discovered it was my other granddaughter's birthday, she said if she has known she would've perhaps bought her drink. (This is not to be expected btw anyone, of course. But the thoughtful and kind gesture was so appreciated!) She is a gem and deserves recognition for an amazing job of serving and engaging with the customers! Another bonus for me personally was that they had Christian music playing. It added to the sense of relaxation and gratitude of the day and new experience at Colonial Grind! We'll most definitely be back!
