On a road trip across North Carolina, I randomly found this place on Yelp. It's in a cute downtown with free parking. There is a long coffee flag so that's when you know that you are in the correct place. The different name on the building through me off. It's very spacious inside with plenty of seating. We were greeted and given menus which we then found a high top table, sat down and looked it over. We decided on the Alyssa crepes and morning glory sandwich. Allysa crepe- I would have ordered another plate if we didn't have another 2 hr drive to go. Between the fluffy eggs and the combination of the ingredients with absolutely mouth watering. I asked for hot sauce and it was complete. I would drive out of my way to come back here again. Morning glory sandwich- I don't know who raised these chickens to give such a different taste to them, but they were raised right. These were definitely happy chickens. Hard to explain but this sandwich and those fluffy eggs will keep you wanting more. Everyone there is so sweet and I'm happy to have had the experience of such an excellent breakfast. This is a rare find and I will be revisiting again. read more

Note: this business is also called "Connie's Coffee and Café," and will come up as that on Google Maps. That aside, this is a great place for coffee and breakfast. We had French toast, a crepe and lattes/coffee. All very good. We will go back when we're in Albemarle at breakfast time. read more

Glory Beans Coffeehouse - 134 West Main Street, Downtown Albemarle Went for the first time with Family at noon. Not busy, huge space, good noise level, clean. Free street parking. They highlight local artists and crafts which we thought was really cool. The coffee was so good couple of different flavors and medium was --- .80 cents a cup! Whaat!? Muffins, some desserts which looked great. Loved my chicken pesto panini on sour dough - tender chicken, great flavor pesto. A win! They gave a little cookie that was a light strawberry flavor. Avocado toast on sourdough (so healthy for you). Great Cheezy Biddie Sammich on sourdough! Another great sandwich. Nutella dessert crepe - there was nothing left of it. Liked that they put cut strawberry and a little piece of cantaloupe on the side. Fluffy pancake and a side of sausage patty, MIL loved it (comes with 3 pancakes but she only wanted one). $6!! Again - cannot beat the prices, portions AT ALL. Five people are and were full for apx. $40 before tip. Connie Blaylock is the owner, she visited the table, made sure everything was good. She also had worked for Rose Briar, another wonderful staple for great desserts and home cooked food, in Albemarle. Worth a visit, you can't beat the wonderful home cooking. The last two lattes I got here were not very good. :( They used to be amazing! One tasted like burnt donuts, and the other had no foam. I don't think that is what they are known for anymore. I am willing to go back, though, and try the food. I have heard good things about that! read more

The Cheezy Buddy Sourdough Panini was the best sandwich I have had in years. The cheese pull was superior. The flavor combo of cheeses, egg, bacon and jam was chef's kiss amazing. I live an hour away but I'll be back again soon just to have that sandwich. read more

My family and I were in town visiting from Florida. We were looking for a good local coffee shop alternative to Starbucks as they do not have one in Albemarle. We stopped here and I have to say the smootheness of the iced latte is second to none. I would even say it's better than Starbucks. We were in town for nearly two weeks and were there almost every day. This is a must try coffee shop. My wife and I also tried their bakery items and let me tell you the chocolate chip cookies are the absolute best I've had. Take that Crumbl! Lastly, the decor has a unique southern charm. The atmosphere is welcoming and just really cool. Kinda reminded me of a cracker barrel coffee shop. If you like cracker barrel this was very similar with the cool signs and such. Walked in and it was love at first vibe! What a breath of fresh air. Can't believe I've lived local for a year and just discovered this gem. Inside area is much larger than expected, and had feel of coffee house you might find in Asheville or Blowing Rock. Staff was wonderful. GLUTEN FREE FOOD. I love their GF crepes. Their coffee is good. The vibe is great. I can work here during the week for a few hours, or take my nieces and nephews with me over the weekend. This is my favorite place to go in town, I only wish they had longer operating hours because I would legit get crepes for dinner - so my wallet and belt are probably grateful that they are only open during breakfast and brunch hours. The best place in the Albemarle area for breakfast or just coffee if you're not hungry. The only place in town serving real grits, not quick cook or instant, real grits, the kind you have to wait for because you can't rush a real grit. We've been several times for breakfast and had the grit bowl (country ham and eggs in mine), Becca crepe. Delicious. Chicken panini is wonderful too. The coffee and specialty drinks are wonderful and the baked goods at the counter. The inside is adorable and the resell local crafters and artists work. read more

Glory Beans is a sweet place to get a good coffee beverage and some brunch. They have great bakery items. Their coffee menu is extensive. The coffees and pastry I've tried there are always great. Nice casual atmosphere. They have other beverages for sale as well. You can get eggs and bacon or French Toast or Pancakes. There's more to offer as well that I haven't mentioned. This is lengthy but important so please stick with me. I am visiting from out of town and my sister always raves about this place. It's local and according to her used to have charm. We walked in and I'm not sure if there is new ownership but she said the interior definitely had drastically changed its decor so that should've been our first clue that we were not about to get the exceptional service she is used to. Starting at the beginning, when we called in our order Connie answered the phone and couldn't have been more rude or bothered. Once again another sign I should've supported big corporate coffee that they so strongly advise against on their blackboard. Georgia Lane was my ONLY highlight of the trip. She has great customer service and was very friendly. Connie was her exact polar opposite. She stopped our order to berate and belittle her in front of the customer. Georgia Lane took it with very high class. We waited a ridiculous amount of time for 3 coffees and while doing so Connie did nothing but continue to criticize, and I would go as far as saying harass her workers, most specifically Georgia Lane. Connie's presence made me so uncomfortable that I highly doubt I will ever return. My sister lives less than 5 minutes away and can get her favorite coffee cheaper at Starbucks but continued to spend her extra hard earned money to support local. The same drink costs $4.98 at Starbucks and costs $7.92 here. That's almost $3 extra to support local but with someone like Connie in charge I'll keep my extra money and time and support the big guys instead. I have never been to a big shop where anyone felt it was appropriate to speak to their employees in such a mean spirited and rude way. She cloaks it as using her words as a learning experience but she is down right rude. I'm very sorry to Georgia Lane for having to experience this behavior, she should take her talents and kindness elsewhere. Their sign shouldn't say anything about not letting friends support corporate coffee and should instead say don't let your friends support Connie. read more
