I could eat their fries everyday! I lucked into trying the fries when I ordered a Wing combo (wings, fries, drink) for lunch on Tuesday. The fries are sprinkled with a salty Cajun seasoning and then a unique ranch dressing is drizzled on top. The homemade ranch was just right, it was creamy yet thin and had a great flavor. I tried both the Mango Habanero and Garlic Parmesan wings and both were good. The wings were evenly coated with sauce, and you can tell that great effort was put into creating the sauces. read more

The Everyday Package Store has been a mainstay in Vestavia for many years. They do not have any gas pumps but this is certainly a typical foodmart. Recently they renovated the adjacent storage area into a dedicated liquor store and the area behind into a small kitchen and large dining room which they now refer to as the The Everyday Cafe. The dining area is so new I could still smell the fresh lumber from the construction. The decor is simple and homey with a mock mantle and fireplace on the far wall. It has about 15 tables and booth-chairs with 3 large flat screen tvs. It is air conditioned with 3 or 4 more tables outside if you want to eat in the fresh air. They are actually located right on the corner of Columbiana Rd and McGuire Rd. You can park in old paved parking lot and enter through the front of the Package store side or go around and enter through the dining room entrance on McGuire Rd. There is no waiter service and you order your food at the pickup counter inside the Package store section. While ordering or picking up you can get a good look at their beautiful wood fire burning oven. The Everyday Cafe has only been opened about a month and I called in my order, but while I was waiting I looked around their spacious dining room and found it comfortable and inviting. Their menu is simple. You can create your own pizza or pick from their choices of Marherita, Meatlovers, The New Yorker, The Philly, The Cheeseburger, The New Jersey Neapolitan, The Everyday or Original Cheese Pizza. They also make Calzones and Wings. Flavors include honey bbq, hot lemon pepper, honey mustard, teriyaki, sweet n sour, sweet red chilli, boom boom, bbq, garlic parmesan, mango habanero, garlic honey and lava. My pizza and order of wings were ready as promised. We thoroughly enjoyed our large meatlovers pizza. The crust was thin but "meaty" around the edges with just the right amount of blackening from the wood fire oven. They put a lot of mozarella cheese on the pizza which my family likes and healthy portions of bacon, pepperoni, salami and italian sausage. You know you have a good pizza pie when you have to hold it with both hands and it still "flops" down from the weight of the toppings! Their hot lemon pepper wings were a tad salty but delicious and perfectly fried. Their mango habanero wings were nicely coated with sweet mango habanero sauce and had a nice kick. I am pretty amazed at how much this place has changed since I lived over this way. The old Everyday used to be your run of the mill convenience store. With so many other spots around that actually sold gas, I was amazed how they stayed open. The first transition I remember was when they opened the package store side. they ended up utilizing the two entrances and had a partition to separate the alcohol from the rest of the store. Nothing too big. So when I heard of the new changes, I expected something similar and not too drastic. When I pulled up and walked in, I noticed they took over the previously abandoned part of the building that was next door. This doubled the size of the place and allowed for a food ordering counted in the back. I thought this was the extent of it. But when I went to meet my lunch companion out back, I was blown away at the brand new addition on the back. A very large, enclosed dining area was added to the back. It has tons of tables and plenty of TV's. I was absolutely blown away by how much they had done. We went back out and ordered. I got the lemon pepper wings and the fries with cajun and ranch. I was very surprised that the price of the wings included the fries and a drink. A really good deal! I noticed with this new food addition, they have draft beer available too. Seem like a great place to come and watch a game. The wings were pretty good, although I might try a different flavor next time. The fries were not overly special, but the cajun/ranch option stepped everything up a notch. Not a place I would consistently travel across town for. My wife and I went to the Everyday Package Store and Cafe on a Saturday for lunch because she had a dream about a hamburger the night before. She ordered the hamburger combo which included fries and a 32 oz fountain drink. The burger was excellent. It was served on a toasted bun with tomato, lettuce, and a sweet onion. Her disappointment was no pick spear. The burger patty was cooked well. The flavor was a combination of good seasoning and natural flavor. The generous portion of fries were served well season and crispy. I had a 15-piece, garlic honey wing combo. The combo included fries (upgraded to Cajun ranch fries) and a 32 oz fountain drink. The wings were flavorful and crispy. The sauce for the Cajun ranch fries had a nice balance of spices and creamy. We will definitely return to try more menu items in the near future. read more

Needs better signage for ordering process and where to go if you enter from the dining area. Once I figured out I had to walk through what appeared to be the behind the counter area, order at one counter and pay at the main register by the front of the convenience store. I chose a lunch special of 2 slices. By the time I chose a bottled drink from the convenience store and paid, my order was ready. I proceeded back to the dining area and it is very nice with a fireplace. I sat as close as possible to it and still was extremely cold. On mild days it might actually be pleasant but I would imagine that on very cold or warm days it would not be a pleasant experience. The pizza itself was nothing to be impressed with. Plenty of other options in the vicinity that are much better and as good a value for the price. I doubt I will be back. If I do it will be to give the wings a try and probably to go unless it is a nice mild day. read more

I only found out about this place recently by a couple from out of town! The cafe is located inside a convenience store which is attached to a private liquor store. Everything is located within the small wedge of businesses between Hwy 31, Old Columbiana Rd and Tyler Rd in Vestavia Hills. Apparently, an indoor and outdoor dining area was only recently added. It is quite nice inside and out, but my order was to do today. I decided on a medium Meatlovers pizza to satisfy my hungry crowd. We all agreed that it was very acceptable, although we would probably add some extras next time. Some garlic and mushrooms would have been nice here. Now we have an idea of what this neighborhood pizza place can do. There is no doubt we'll all be eating here again. Hopefully you can tell from the enclosed photos that this place can accommodate a large crowd, like maybe a ball team or something. There won't be a wait staff taking care of you, so extras will require a trip inside the store. I'll update this review next visit UPDATE REVIEW Unlike my previous review, I have to dock major points here. The reason is simple. I tried for 30 minutes to call and place and order recently. NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE! I did a drive by and there were employees parked on their south ends. What's the deal? Not wanting to start a fuss. (Ya don't p**s off the people making your food). Everyday has always been my go-to for quick snack items or drinks, so I was thrilled when they decided to add a restaurant! They have your typical "bar style" foods (wings, pizza, fries, calzones, etc.) and also a few beers in cans and on draft. (The $2 blue moon drafts are my favorite!). The food has always been consistent and is pretty good. The wings are a little small, but the delicious sauces they use definitely make up for it. You place your order inside of the convenience store part (the other half of the building is the package store...great selection of beer here too) and they will bring the food out to you. They have a really large dining area in the back of the building. The ceilings are really high, so it gets a little chilly in the cooler months, but they usually have the fireplace going so definitely try and grab a table close to that. read more

Wow!!! This place is amazing value!!! They have amazing food for the extremely reasonable price. Arguably they have some of the best wings in town! The surprise was the Garlic Honey flavor. A lot of times what something is mixed with garlic you can't taste of the component, however their sauce is well balanced and no one flavor is dominating the other one. The back area is really nice it has a fire place and flat screen Tvs. Their food is more on the pizza end, wings and fries. Have a vast selection of drinks. Granted, I was very hungry, but my meal was wonderful! I'm a regular at the store; this was my first visit to the grill. I ordered a grilled chicken salad "to go." All veggies were fresh: crisp iceberg lettuce, sliced onions, and red & green grape-size tomatoes. This was topped with shredded cheddar, black olives, and deliciously seasoned chopped chicken. The wings last night were excellent but what really got my attention were the fries that come with them. These are not your drug store crinkle cuts, they were quite crispy and delicious. No, they did not need any catsup. I got the 10 piece with honey BBQ sauce and spiked them up at home with the addition of some standard Louisiana type hot sauce. I did not really care too much for the honey BBQ sauce, was redolent of cinnamon, clove, and maybe some allspice. Not to worry, I will try a different flavor next time. and no, I am not a relative, just a Bluff Parky who likes to eat...... but I may have to "adopt" them as my go to family for quick, high quality, and very satisfying food.
