We plan on scheduling with her whenever we travel to Western MD, the PA Laurel Highlands or nearby WV. From my first phone contact, Kat was friendly and available. She began the session with inquiries into our health history, current symptoms, and areas that we wanted to concentrate on. Her massage room is completely equipped with warming bed, HEPA filter, hot towels, aromatherapy if desired, high quality lotion, and the other usual supplies. Throughout the session, Kat explained what she was going to do next, and checked in to make sure the pressure was right for me. She worked on my entire body from head and face to toes. I left feeling completely relaxed, and with the areas of concern greatly improved. Kat works solo, so while my husband and I waited our turns, we spent the time chatting with Kat's husband, reading books, and watching TV in their cozy home. They really made a very cold spring vacation day that much better. To top it all off, Kat's prices are extremely reasonable; even more so considering Kat's experience at Nemacolin. You are welcomed with some ocean sounds and a beverage station; bottled water, hot tea and coffee selections. I walked up to the sign-in window and signed a waiver, and did my paper work then was politely ushered to the back. My therapist was Judie and she walked me to the room, instructed me on how much I should strip down, where I could put by things, how to lay on the table, and what she would be doing. This was my first time ever receiving a massage so the information was happily welcomed; I obviously am not a good listener though bc I forgot to take off my necklace and we had to stop to do that lol. Laying on the heated table I was a little intimidated as to what to do during this massage. I'm a talker when I'm nervous and I always feel weird not filling the silence; however, that nervousness soon flew away as the massage started. There was a pleasant noticeable smell in the room that was neutral, there was some meditative music playing in the background and of course Ms. Judie doing what she obviously does best. The oil she used felt warm and the rocks felt amazing. At first I thought they felt too hot but once Ms. Judie moved them around it was just pure relaxation. During the massage she checked in on me to make sure I was comfortable, of course I was...I was in utter bliss. Ms. Judie was gentle and sure with her movements, the amount of pressure used felt perfect. I don't know the words to describe how wonderful she did and how relax I felt throughout the whole session. After 90 minutes my time was over. She told me to take my time and take it easy when getting ready as I could feel light headed. I felt like a puddle, I was so relaxed, it was like its own high. I begrudgingly got dressed (lol) and met her out front to make my payment (well to meet my husband who gave me the money to make the payment lol). She gave me water, reminded me to drink up and that it was normal to feel hungry and get a headache after. I never got the headache but I felt sore the next day as if I had gone to the gym for an hour. The whole experience was amazing. Even though I live an hour away I may have to make this a more common thing. To wrap up....the facility on the outside is a little gray but the inside is clean and welcoming. Before I visited I was informed the South Hills location was unexpectedly closed for maintenance. Laura went above and beyond to reschedule at a later date in South Hills location or transfer my appointment to the Strip District location. It was more convent to visit the downtown location. I was warmly greeted as I walked in. I was about a half hour early for my appointment but was able to start immediately. I was treated to a complimentary seltzer, I enjoyed the Blackberry Lemon which was very good and refreshing, so much so I had to get another one after my session. Abby was a great host during my visit. Very friendly, helpful and informative. I didn't know what to expect but she explained the process thoroughly. During the session I switched colors every few minutes to get all the benefits from the entire color spectrum. Afterwards I felt relaxed and releasing the tension and toxin's! That night I got a very hot shower and got a great nights sleep. I enjoyed it so much that I'm looking forward to purchasing a package deal soon!
