This is a nice, bright jewelry and home decor store close to the port. The sales girl was very nice…read moreand we chatted for a few minutes about the season and then the new locations of her store. I also checked in while at the store on my Yelp App and it said I was entitled to a small gift of black pearl earrings. I felt bad declining them because she said that it had been a long time since she last saw that banner and then went to see if they even still carried that token. I looked at some really nice jewelry and now I have some thinking to do.

Julie's Fine Jewelry had been recommended by a friend that regularly visit's Alaska. The sales person was Lynn B and she was very helpful with finding some jewelry. I also had a chance to speak with Julie and learn more about the area. Julie suggested I walk up Mill St to Ketchikan Creek to watch the salmon spawning. This side trip turned out to be another highlight of our Alaska trip Overall a very nice selection of jewelry and excellent customer service with a side of local flavor. Definitely a five star experience. Instead f another picture of the store I'm including a picture of the side trip Julie recommended

While in Ketchikan, I wasn't necessarily looking for something in particular, but I wear a plain…read moresilver chain and thought it might be nice to get a silver charm for it. When I walked into Orca, the owners were immediately friendly and asked if there was something I was looking for. I told them I was looking for a pendant, preferably silver, and they directed me to their cases with pendants. And that's where I saw it. A gorgeous onyx whale tail set in silver with a turquoise "midnight sun" and opal insets, some of which represented the northern lights. I love Alaska and have vacationed by cruise 3 times and by land at least half a dozen times. Whale watching is always a top priority for things to do in Alaska, and I've spent many sub freezing nights in Fairbanks out photographing the auroras. So this was literally the perfect pendant for me. There were large and small ones, but I really like the small because I'm not a very flashy person. There were more in that size than just those in the case, and I was able to look at all of them and decide which one I wanted the most. The pendant is hand made and signed by the artist, and you could tell how proud the owners of the shop were to offer a piece that wasn't mass manufactured. There was no hard sell, but there didn't need to be. I knew I was buying. As we wrapped things up, they decided that my wife Cathy should have something special as well and gave her a wooden whale tail that a friend of theirs hand-carved. It now resides on our display shelves here at home and will always be a reminder of our cruise. It really couldn't have been a better shopping experience.

The…read morestore is filled with all kinds of interesting treasures, handmade items, crystals, and other shiny things that are fun to browse, even if you're just window shopping. The prices were on the higher side, but that's understandable since many of the items are handmade or custom made. One thing we thought was really cool was that they offer free arrowheads, which was a fun and unexpected touch. We didn't end up purchasing anything ourselves, but we still enjoyed stopping in and looking around. If you love crystals, handcrafted pieces, or just discovering unusual local shops, this is definitely worth a visit.

We had enjoyable conversations with the men working there. Yes, the more they sell the more money they make, so pressure selling is expected in a shop geared for tourists. Like we do in most shops we say no thanks, and leave. But we wanted something to commemorate our Alaska cruise, so we took our time. After finding what we wanted, agreeing on the discounts, after finding out we purchased something from their sister store in Sitka, he even subtracted that amount. We know things are marked up, and they still make money with each sale, but in the end, it is our decision to buy or not. Now, we just have to wait for our items to arrive this fall, hopefully.

It was distinctively different and of fine quality. She bought a tear drop pendant and earring set. She has received numerous compliments on it. I loved their huge selection of men's rings. I have never seen such extensive collection under one roof. The staff was very polite and helpful. I love the ring I bought from them. The owners Sapna and Vinay were fair and accomodative. They helped us finance our purchase on a affordable payment plan. I thought they were a seasonal store open only during summer. To my delight I found out they are open year round. I did my early Xmas shopping with them last week. Truly fair prices, prompt attention and excellent customer service sets them miles apart from their competitors. They will be our jeweler for life. I will recommended them to all my family and friends. They have surpassed all my expectations.

Both sales reps coaxed me into leaving the store while my husband was still there. He was convinced to purchase the bracelet while I was not there. Unfortunately, the bangle was too big and was irritating my skin. The next day we went to return it and were told all sales were final. Something that was never mentioned and only realized once purchased and printed on the receipt. He did not receive an appraisal or any documentation. After reading reviews, we fear the worst and assume the bangle is not what we were told it was - why else would it be irritating my wrist. It's a fraud!
