Made a 1:00 reservation, arrived on time but had to wait on the remainder of my party. Eve was very understanding and say us upon their arrival, around 1:30. So bam we're seated in a nice secluded area large table, perfect for a birthday we don't have to worry about disturbing others. After 20 minutes no server. So my friend goes to speak to someone, turns out the server was responsible for two areas and "forgot" about our area. No biggie. Server comes over and immediately jumps into the kitchen closes at 2:30. OKAY we've waited for like 20 minutes with no service at all so whatever. Long story short the server was stressed out and rude. We requested a new server - the manager. Eve was wonderful all of our dishes were hot and arrived within a timely matter. We ordered the Moroccan wings, short ribs, Korean cauliflower. Which were all a hit I think the unexpected favorite was the Korean cauliflower. Like even the kids were eating it lol. The ribs were flavorful and tender. The wings were good too. My mom ordered from the prix fix menu end had braised beef and mashed potatoes. I was so jealous should have ordered. The meat was really tender and tasted so yummy. Like it exceeded all expectations. I really wanted the shrimp and grits but they were sold out, no biggie the creme brûlée French toast was just as good. Nice sweet & crunchy, We also had the unlimited mimosas which were very good. Ben the bartender and all the staff took great care of us. Bottomless mimosa as it should be - a glass never empty! They're super ninja about filling them too. I don't remember ever seeing my champagne flute going below half full! The food itself was 3.5 stars. They do have a lot to offer! We had dinner here tonight Eve welcomed us with a smile and seated us at the Bar. The service, food and views were phenomenal. Thank you Eve for making us feel right at home. We dined here on a Sunday afternoon. I was with a group of 8 women ... celebrating birthdays. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful the space is. Abd the views are are amazing. We did wait a short bit to be seated. The hostess checked on us until the table was ready ... and we weren't disappointed ... with the seating. The waiter was nice and he did his best. The kitchen and bar were out of a lot of things. The kitchen was very good with accommodating to make up for the lack. The food was alright. I could nit pick but I won't. We had 100 guests for our Non-profit's event on a Saturday evening. We informed the restaurant that we'd be setting up starting at 3:30pm. They had some lingering guests that should have all been out by 4pm, (though they weren't in the area we were setting up), but their staff didn't get around to setting up our 10 tables until 4:45 and our guests were arriving at 5. At 5pm we had to inform the staff to service their restrooms as the trash was full and there was no toilet paper. For a restaurant that was supposed to be able to accommodate 200 people, I felt they were ill-equipped to handle 100. The space between tables was hard for people to get around. They didn't put enough bread in the basket so each person could get one roll. Food didn't arrive at other tables until after many tables finished. Some tables, people had salad on dishes, and others had them in bowls. The bowls looked like they had 30% more salad! The salad was tasty. There were no separate forks for salad and entree. We had to be sure to keep our forks for the entree. Only good thing about that is that it's a greener practice, but we're talking about fancier dining here! I had Snapper which was very good. I was expecting it on rice but it was served on top of angel hair pasta. Lots of pasta, but not enough sauce (other patrons agreed) No veggies either. My husband had the steak which was okay and it came with 2 spears of asparagus and some small potatoes. By the time we had finished our entrees and had our plates cleared, some of the other tables were JUST getting their food. It almost seemed like they picked up our plates as fast as they could maybe to get them washed to use for the other tables?! For 30% of our guests, the wait for food was long! They have a sound system that we really enjoyed for more than half the evening. Mid-way though, their screens started glitching and lost connection with our playlist and powerpoint. Then their microphones made an annoying popping sound every few minutes which made people startle (kept them awake at least). We had some important presentation we wanted to show on the screen, but it couldn't be repaired until the evening was almost over (losing about 30 minutes of presentation). The staff/servers were all very responsive. The hot water/coffee thermoses were refilled promptly. Water glasses were refilled promptly. The bar folks were great. The view was beautiful. The location and view are very nice. Really enjoyed watching the kayers, a guy SUPing with his dog and the variety of boats traversing the estuary. The food is seriously nothing to write home about. My advice is to order stuff that is made to order such as the french toast. We ordered the calamari, beet and berry starter and fried Korean cauliflower. The calamari was super tough, the berries were not very fresh (cut earlier in the day or leftover), not enough cheese on the dish, and the cauliflower had no real zing to it. Decided to check this place out after looking at the menu and seeing some good brunch options as well as bottomless mimosas! I highlyyyy recommend making reservations, especially on the weekend, because they have limited space and was pretty busy. They have a few tables inside and about 10-15 tables outside. We got there a little early before our reservation so we had to wait for our table to be ready. I really enjoyed the outside patio and view we had, it was also a beautiful day which was a plus. We ordered bottomless mimosas, $18 which is a little pricey but they were worth it. You can choose from 4 different juices and can switch whenever you feel like it. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, yum! I got the basic breakfast with pancakes, home fries, eggs, and bacon or sausage, and my boyfriend got the fried chicken Benedict. Both were delicious!! I booked this venue for my 60th birthday party. The venue is beautiful, the hors d'oeuvres were tasty BuT be aware that they will have other areas in the venue rented during your event. The space is open so you will not have privacy and people will have to travel through your event to access the entry, the balcony and the exit. In my case it was a small wedding party that over lapped during my set up and the first hour and a half (I was told about the wedding the day before). Their kids were running around, their music was playing on the system so my DJ had to wait an hour before playing my music. And finally the on site staff was not accommodating and rude - simple request like hors d'oeuvre plates and serving utensils were a problem. It's a beautiful venue but I excepted more for $7200 90 guest. If you book this venue be aware that they will rent areas that will impact your guest. Let them know exactly what you want i.e. plates for the hors d'oeuvres, ask them to check the bathrooms before your guest arrive (if other events are going on at the same time) and ask what areas you may be sharing and how the sound system will work for multiple events at the same time. read more

I came here for a group lunch event and I didn't have very high expectations to be honest, because I haven't heard too much about the restaurant, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The place was not too busy at all, sitting right on the water in Jack London, with beautiful views. Located in a beautiful multi-level space right on the Oakland waterfront with Alameda Island just across the water. The Sunday jazz brunch starts at 10:15 am and is $35 with a bottomless bloody mary or mimosa option for $15. I chose the bottomless bloody marys. The highlights of the buffet brunch were the roast beef , crab, and the flaky fried fish. There is a separate omelet station not far away. The jazz band was entertaining with out being too loud and intrusive. Our server Chantal and staff kept our drinks filled and cleared our used plates. Thank you, Eve! Eve's Waterfront came recommended to me by a local Oakland couple who gave nothing but praises for their service and food. I was skeptical after reading reviews, the star ratings are all over the place. A couple of days before our event I received a call from Eve herself confirming our reservation. They have a new reservation policy for a party of more than 10 guests and now require a credit card to hold your place. Eve explained that they have had many last minute cancellations lately which prompted her to start this CC hold reservation and I could understand. I then took this opportunity to ask Eve why the Yelp ratings fluctuate drastically like that and she preceded to explain to me. I concluded that it wasn't fair to the restaurant and Eve was very sincere during our conversation. So instead of changing venues for our party of 16 I dropped a CC to hold our place. On the day of our event we all gathered promptly at 10:15a for our Sunday Brunch. We were all excited to see each other once we all got there. I mentioned to Eve that one of our guests have a baby and would appreciate a seating not too close to the band, yes, there is a live jazz band on stage on the ground floor. Eve appreciated that I mentioned this and set up a table for us upstairs with a view of the waterfront. Very nice private corner where we could still hear the band but not so loud and we could still hear each other's conversations. The buffet menu included salad, steamed broccoli, country potatoes, fried fish, biscuit & gravy, fried chicken & waffles, prime rib and seafood crab. There was also a separate omelet station with bacon and sausage, and also a separate dessert table. I did not try all the food but the food I got was good for the buffet price and filled me up (I got mostly prime rib and some crab). I didn't even get a chance to try any dessert other than the fresh strawberries. Our server, Chantal, along with her busser helper, who came often to clear our used plates, provided great service! Water glasses were filled and separate drink orders were filled promptly. She even accommodated separate checks for our party. That was really nice and easy for us - no calculations required. Came here on 10/6/2019 at 1:15 p. m. My friend made reservations for us to celebrate our birthdays. This was after I sent her the Yelp and Google reviews but in all fairness, she believed that their Sunday brunch was still happening. Well guess what??? IT WASN'T!!! They stopped having brunch a month ago and the place was EMPTY - no reservations needed. In addition, we heard that 49 reservations were cancelled because those 49 discovered that brunch days were done! Let's now discuss the food... In spite of the fact that there were more staff than patrons in Mz. Eve's joint, it took over an hour for our food to come to our table of 7. How is that when you have a scaled down menu that includes some weird azz selections? Each of us had grave yard cold food - unacceptable and you thought I was going to consume it? No sir - I sent it back and "Chef threw it away" - WTF would he throw my uneaten food in the garbage and then have the server tell me that I had to order something COMPLETELY different cuz he "doesn't have anymore of the ingredients". Are you f*ing kidding me? That's far better than spitting in my food but still... Eggs ordered scrambled HARD: Contained patches of runny egg and looked like prison eggs from a carton - I know cuz I've seen them live & in color. "Grits": That shyt ain't grits - I know cuz my grandmas and Mama are straight outta Mississippi & Georgia and I've eaten them since I was 6 months old straight outta the baby bottle - for real though and this was like farina straight outta the galley (only available in the penitentiary, boot camps and in 3rd world countries). I have no idea what it tasted like cuz I wasn't eating it but one of the girlfriends was so hungry waiting on her food that she asked for hot butter (they brought hot popcorn flavored olive oil with a spoon) to eat it. I was totally grossed out at the appearance of both. Almond flour pancakes - burnt black and looked like a dirty grill. Bottomless mimosas - I know better and didn't have any cuz I'm only doing top shelf vodka which was already in a flask in my bag. However, the other birthday girl had 3 of them and got sick afterwards. Bottomless ANYTHING equates to some cheap azz alcohol that I ain't doing. Trust me, she learned and paid for the lesson AND she was hungry after eating Eve's food. Music - They had a youngster with his guitar singing amplified. I'm sure he's nice and from a good family but NOOOOOO, simply.... No - when the tip jar has nothing but air in it, that's an indicator that this is not working. Decor - the electric blue paint on all of the rails aren't attractive. The dry piles of bird crap on the outside deck doesn't help while consuming food. The wrinkled tablecloths are simply ghetto. The old flat screens need to be bigger and 4K. Service - Our server Caleb was slow to come to our table. He did not provide updates on why our horrible food AND mimosas took 2 days to come. Although he had a nice demeanor, I'd fire his azz. Fortunately, we were able to meet Jim, the 3 day old manager and we conveyed all of the above to him and he gets it. I told him to clean house and FIRE everyone, including the so called Chef and water gurl who got an attitude when asked to take pics of us. According to sources, Eve's makes more money renting out for parties, including political fundraisers for Kamala Harris. They should stick to that and stop trying to serve the public. read more

Eve's is a little off Jack London Square proper (5-10 minute walk along the water) and is off the road, down the parking lot behind some kind of condo / office complex and the KTVU building (eerily surrounded by barbed wire fencing) so was not the easiest to find. The food execution needs to be kicked up a few notches. The taste and flavor just weren't up to the standard of other waterfronts. The restaurant name and menu appear more upscale than actuality. The decor was very basic, understaffing, and the pitcher of Mimosas made at end of the bar was a bit tacky. Suggest servers are in uniform and more knowledgeable of the menu. Tables located downstairs and there was an event going on upstairs so this restaurant does cater to parties as well. It was warm in there, even with some of the windows open. Now onto food. It took at least 45 minutes for the starters to come out. The ladies who ordered off the pre-arranged menu enjoyed the salad. I must say it was a good deal too; starter, entree, and desert for $25?! I thought it was interesting that they serve a whole piece of grilled lettuce for the Caeser Salad. Entrees started coming out but it was awkward because everyone didn't get their food at the same time. I'm talking ten minute gaps! So some of the party was finishing their food and I still hadn't gotten my Cajun Shrimp Salad. It came out, there was some confusion, and my salad was taken and given to another member of my party(weird). At this point I told them to keep the salad. I did get to taste a few Cajun shrimp off the plate and they were really good. So it's time to leave and a member of the party is still waiting for desert. They finally bring it. When she did come she was super unprofessional and just trying way too hard. Secondly she took everything so personal as if she as back there cooking. And when we had to get the attention of other servers she was confrontational like we were wrong to look for any help since she was not around. WEIRD!! Second thing, the food was terrible. My daughters chicken strips( which came out last) were burnt and over cooked. The cechive was disgusting and dry. The chicken was bland!! And our entree were tasteless and both over and undercooked. When the hostess asked us if we wanted a box and we told her no thanks, she informed us that the chef was new and ppl kept complaining about their food all day. Only giving 3 stars because I had a problem with something that should have been taken care of the first time. My group was served glasses of water. I noticed there was something up against the inside of the glass of water. While very small, I had one of my friends make sure I didn't imagine it. She agreed it was there on the inside. So when I asked to have it replaced, the server said "I don't see anything but I'll get you a replacement " I was offended by that statement like I was making it up. Then worse, my replacement glass if water had lipstick on the rim of the glass. I didn't want to ask again because then I'd be worried they'd do something to my water at that point since they didn't believe me the first time. So I left it on the table and just drank my mimosa. I hosted a private event for my daughter's college graduation party on June 18, 2021. We had a party of 22 people. I paid $32 per person for a three-course meal! What a deal! *Service: Our server for the night was Rechel. She's the best! She noticed one of the glasses she handed out was not up to par and replaced it instantly. She made sure we had everything we needed. She stopped by to check up on us throughout the night to make sure we had a good dining experience. *Food: Because we had a big party, we had to place our order a day in advance. Believe me, we ordered everything on Eve's menu (attached). As a host, I asked everyone in my party if his/her food was good. I received all good responses from everyone. No complaint from anyone. For myself, I ordered the chowder, the steak, and the apple pie. The chowder and the steak were cooked to perfection! I brought a cake for my daughter, so I didn't try the apple pie. Wow wow wow. Husband made reservations for dinner before a movie. It was so fricken delicious. We ordered the prix fixe feast. I got the chowder, salmon, & chocolate cake. Omg the chowder. Had my wedding reception here in September 2019, this is long over due! Venue space 5 - big windows and nice views. Service 1 - very long lulls in food delivery and right at 6 when the bar opened and all our guests arrived, they had 2 bartenders for 150 people. One of the bartenders stepped away to make a "tips appreciated" sign. My family overheard the staff saying "we're not ready and people are arriving" at 6pm - our agreed upon start time when I negotiated the contract months out! Bathroom cleanliness 1 - they obviously hadn't cleaned since brunch as there were dirty paper towels and toilet paper on the floor at 5:45 when I arrived for our reception beginning at 6pm. Professionalism 1- I have email chains reflecting that I had to follow up many times and they didn't send a working menu until the day before our reception even though I had asked for it beginning months out. Onsite management day of 1 - at about 9:45pm I was pulled off the dance floor and into their back kitchen and the chef Brandon told me the party had to end at 10. I told him that Eve and I had agreed 11:30pm. I had to show Eve on her own phone how she had agreed to an 11:39 end time. Once she realized she was at fault she said that she hadn't marked down 11:30 in her calendar and she only hired temp workers only until 10. Rather than fixing it she just said there's nothing she can do and we'd all need to leave. Crazy. Eve lacks business acumen, professionalism and control of her restaurant. The week of our reception the chef Brandon called me in total distress to tell me Eve had yelled at him over the menu and he was in pain with sciatica. I was alarmed to be brought in the middle of their work relationship which is obviously strained. Be ready for shoddy service, poor communication, and having them forget timing/contractual agreements. Delightful atmosphere, very good food, but service was lacking. Since they recently reopened I think they have some kinks to work out and staff need to be better trained. Since it was Mother's Day and it was a gorgeous day to sit by the water, we didn't mind too much that service was clumsy and slow and our meal took three hours. We went last night, their re-opening night. They were working a few kinks out but were so gracious and welcoming! Very friendly, a great host and server. The menu seems more limited than the last time I went (~4 yrs ago); everything was delicious: Caesar salad, salmon with a wonderful rice pilaf, tacos, apple dessert. Let me straightforward I had high hopes that this restaurant would be successful. I am a native to Oakland and I want to see it thrive. Eves restaurant is one of many that have attempted to revive a long time chain of failures in the same skeleton of a building disguised as a restaurant at the Marina in Oakland next to Channel 2. Like many restaurants it is not open during these times. I take my autistic son for a walk early in the mornings around Jack London for 2 reasons. 1. Less people 2. Recently due to the fires air quality is better in a.m. I park in the parking lot in this area again because it allows me and more importantly my son a certain sense of safety. Today as I started my walk I was approached my a man that said where I parked was not "free parking." He said he owned the restaurant and the entire parking lot and I should move. I was shocked. 1. The restaurant is not open. 2. There is ample parking available. I understand he wants parking available for his customers but where are they. My autistic son had already started his walk while this interaction took place so I started walking towards him to ask him to come back. The owner started to take my picture and my cars picture to have me towed. I ask you "Why" a gesture of kindness could have ensured that I visit his restaurant and ask others to do the same. Instead he chose to be petty at a time when we see too much hate and selfishness. Well I hope you enjoy your empty parking lot. I went for lunch on a Saturday with a group of 5 out of all our food and drinks the cauliflower was the only thing we liked. Everything else , even the drinks were okay. Not good but not the worst I've ever tasted either. The view was great and our waitress was nice read more

What can I say.. Amazing staff and AMAZING FOOD.. Dad and I first time trying this place. We both had the Prix Fixe Feast. My dad had the chowder, steak and apple crostate. I had the ceasar, steak and the key lime pie. Everything was soooo good.. especially the key lime pie.. you can taste the freshness of the pie. Highly recommend this place.. I always go here because i live close and the view is nice. I wish they had more options on menu, but ill do with what they have.

If the rating was just for the view, it'd be 5 stars! Sadly though, the food, drinks, and service were terrible. I hope they make time to figure these things out because it could really be an amazing brunch spot! We didn't get our food for 45 minutes despite being 1 of only 4 tables at the time. The bottomless mimosas were mostly juice (not surprising) but our server didn't stay attentive enough to refill them so we only got 3 in 90 minutes (barely worth it).
