It's a free event, so a long line is understandable -- just something to plan for. The overall vibe inside was fun and worth checking out if you've got the patience. My only suggestion would be for them to open more than just four days in October. That would help spread out the crowds and make it easier for more people to enjoy the experience without such a long wait.

The theme this year is "Evil in the London Fog," and right when you enter, you feel like you've stepped into a foggy, cobblestoned, Victorian London of the past. This was my first haunted house I've ever done, and I don't like being scared. It is the perfect intro to haunted houses for someone like myself who is a scaredy cat - it was light on gore and very brief which made it manageable to walk through. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quite fast. The haunted house is built on their front yard (amazing), so you will get through it quite quickly. It is free, which is incredible for the amount of work that goes into it. However! There is a box where you can leave donations, and all proceeds go to Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter. Everyone who was working the haunt was so friendly, with fantastic themed costumes to boot. Absolutely wonderful vibes all around! They deserve no tricks and ALL the treats!

I was also able to convince his sister and her family to join us. We decided to make a full day of it and bought Universal Studios access starting at 2 p.m. So glad we did because it was crowded. We managed to get on several rides before horror nights began and a few during the evening . We got on Transformers, Mario Kart World, The Simpsons Ride, The Mummy, and Flight of the Hippogriff. The longest we stayed in line was probably 35 to 45 mins. Around 5 p.m., we started the mazes and actually got through all of them (Terrifier, Poltergeist (maybe my favorite), Fallout, Monstruos 3: The Ghosts of Latin America, Terror Tram: Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse, Jason Universe, The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks (really liked this one too), Scarecrow: Music by Slash, Five Nights at Freddy's) by the end of the night. It was super fun, but the crowds were intense. Jason's maze was listed as a one-hour wait, but it ended up being over two hours. It got so bad that several people in line passed out, and medical staff had to come help. Standing in line for that long really killed my mood. My legs and feet hurt. To make matters worse, once inside the maze, it was so packed that the jump scares often happened to the group ahead of us, not us. But it was fun to see my boyfriend hide behind me scared lol. Overall, it was still a fun night and worth the trip. Going as a group made the real difference because we laughed and had fun together. I would return, but next time, I won't stress about doing every maze. I'm not standing in line for two hours again. The Universal Studios app really helped with picking mazes that had the shortest lines first.

The line moved quickly even though they had security checking bodies and bags for things not permitted. FYI, water bottles are not allowed. There were three mazes. Two of them were decent, but I found the Elvira one to be boring. I also paid additional money to shoot at zombies. The one minute they give you to shoot is not worth the amount of money you pay . We also had funnel cake which was way over cooked.

(2) For General Admission (Hayride & entry to each maze), it's $59 per person ($47 + $12 fees). (3) For the VIP Fast Pass (General Admission for a 1/3 of the wait time), it's $73 per person ($47 + $26 fees). (4) For Platinum Skip The Line (literally walk right up to the front of the Hayride & each maze), it's $135 per person ($47 + $88 fees). Whatever entry ticket you choose, they're going to add $3 if you choose to ride the Hayride between 7PM-11PM (event closes at midnight on the weekends, earlier on weekdays). Each guest is required to sign a waiver before entry. Add-ons include: (1) Midnight Falls Axe Throwing - $7 for 5 axe throws. (2) Zombie Splat GellyBall Experience - $10 for firing at live actor zombies with a water balloon gun ala paintball. (3) Scary-Go-Round - $5 to ride the merry go round. (4) Mini Escape Rooms - $8 to play a mini escape room. (5) Madame Aurora Seance Theater - $10 to watch a seance. (6) Combo Pack - $25 for entry to the Seance Theater, Zombie Splat, Scary-Go-Round, and Midnight Falls Axe Throwing. (7) S'Mores Package - $8 to make your own smores by fire. (8) Digital Photo Album Access - $5 to access any photos taken at the event. Parking options: (1) Gold Parking - $60 for the closest and most convenient parking near the Hayride. (2) Premium Parking - $25 for parking at the Merry-Go-Round lot. (3) Free parking - park at the L.A. Zoo and a free shuttle will take you to & from the event. My wife and I scored free General Admission tickets from Long Beach's Midsummer Scream so that was a breeze. Since we're not psychotic, we opted for the free parking at the zoo. Plenty of bus shuttles coming/going with lots of room to cram everyone for the short ride to the event. After arrival, you have to walk downhill through the dirt to get to the entrance. Fyi - the whole place is dirt, so wear closed shoes (preferably not your favorite) and be prepared to thoroughly clean them the next morning. We hit the Hayride first and walked right through the back to wait in line for 5 minutes. Scare actors interact with everyone waiting to get your blood pumping. Don't know how long the actual Hayride was, but it was pretty lengthy with lots of different sections/scenes to see. Honestly not too shabby! Only complaint is that you're seated at the sides of the wagon, so you're going to be awkwardly turned the entire time. Doesn't matter which side you're on as the scares are on both (even above!). There are 3 mazes and we went through them all. Monae Manor had a big line to get in but it was like 20 minutes so not too bad. It was by far the best one out of the trio. Hillbilly Halloween was the furthest from the others and had the shortest line. It was also a pretty fast walkthrough - meh. Elvira's Trick or Treat Mayhem had the longest line but moved along at a decent pace. It was ok, but there was a weird part where you walk through like a heavy tarp and scare actors are pushing on both sides to get you disoriented like you're being swallowed. If you're claustrophobic, you might want to skip this one. We had our fill with good eats - lots of options to choose from. Had a slice of supreme pizza from The Wicked Oven ($12). Wifey got a burger, fries and drink from Carnivore Kitchen ($23). We shared an apple cider topped with a cider donut from the Midnight Falls Cider Mill ($15). We shared a Sonoran Hot Dog from Nightmare in Nogales ($19). We grabbed a sleeve of Ghoul Scout Cookies from Fresh Baked Cookies ($11) for the ride home. The apple cider and cookies were the best from what we tried. Though expensive, we had a blast at the 2025 L.A. Haunted Hayride and wouldn't mind coming back next year. Lots of photo ops all over the place, lots of scare actors throughout (some with chainsaws), and a ridiculous amount of strobe lights & fog machines. The event is what you make of it and how much you're willing to spend. Paying for parking is insane and the VIP/Platinum passes aren't worth it as you'll still have to wait in line no matter what (just a little shorter). It probably won't be worth going too late as you won't get to do everything - we went at 7PM when they opened, did everything (except the add-ons) and were back at the car by 11:30PM. If you're prone to seizures, sadly this isn't for you. Website says it might be too intense for kids 12 and under, but there were plenty of little boils and ghouls running around so who knows. It's a dry event so absolutely no alcohol or smoking. No restrooms, just porta potties that have no lights inside so expect a dark sticky time. Take a shower when you get home and thoroughly blow your nose because you'll be dusty all up in there. Prices and experience may vary.

I would absolutely not recommend coming to this pop-up (which closes this coming weekend) because I was cheated by and yelled at by the security guards for over two hours. Here are the highlights: 1) The security guards repeatedly let groups of people cut, so that I was always at the back of the line. My boyfriend and I waited over two-and-a-half hours outside on Hollywood Boulevard, and on three occasions, the security guards ordered the people toward the back of the line to "keep walking backward." Each time we were forced to walk backward, the line was shuffled, and people were allowed to cut, making it impossible to advance in line. I eventually was admitted into the event as one of the last five people before they closed for the night. 2) The guards treated us like prisoners, repeatedly yelling, "Get your backs up against the wall!" They kept shouting this even though we already were standing against the wall, and no one in line was causing problems. It was extremely insulting and humiliating. 3) The guards let in the standby line before the priority access line, and then lied to me about it. People who have purchased IMAX movie tickets to IT 2 are supposed to have priority access, per the event website. The guards also told us this, so we bought tickets and got into the IMAX line. But the guards ended up letting in the non-ticket holders AN HOUR BEFORE US. When I asked Caleb, the Toomer Security manager, about this, he didn't have an explanation and then a very terse guard jumped in and told me (lied to me) that the non-ticket holders were going to a holding area and not inside; he assured me since we had IMAX tickets we would still go in before them. I knew this was a lie because I then saw the non-ticket holders inside the venue, as I could see through the gaps of the exterior wall. 4) Once we got to the entrance we were then rushed to sign a 2-page legal waiver in tiny print. Also, no one checked our IDs or our IMAX tickets, even though Security kept telling us over and over we needed proof of being over age 17 and that we had paid for movie tickets. Why didn't they give us the waivers while we were waiting so long in line? When we finally made it inside the pop-up, it was fun (though not the 40-minute experience advertised; it was more like 20 minutes), but not worth the experience of a completely unfair line. I'm so angered by how Toomer Security treated my boyfriend and me at this pop-up, that I am canceling and refunding my IMAX tickets because I don't want to support anything that has something to do with the IT 2 pop-up experience.

Toomer, the security company hired for this event, ruins this experience…read more Harassment, yelling, lying, apathy and disregard for decency-and you get to deal with it for more than 2 hours as you wait in line. Expect constant anxiety as you have to deal with these people yelling at you nearly every minute for those 2+ hours. Caleb, the manager, obviously did not have a handle on his crew nor have any idea how to manage or plan for the event or handle the people attending. His team spent the night yelling at the crowd, barking orders for them to, "GET UP AGAINST THE WALL" in the way you'd hear a cop yell at a criminal he's been chasing down. You heard this yelled at you non-stop for over 2 hours, even if you were already up against the wall. We were also constantly told to turn around and walk another 300 feet down the block. But this was done all through yelling, without any sort of guidance or order. The result was each time we had to shuffle the line down the block, groups of people thought they would take this opportunity to cut in line. The guards didn't care about this at all, and only cared that you were against the wall. When it was pointed out that 2 people joined the end of the line after it had already been closed, Caleb put the responsibility of kicking them out on his guard, rather than being a leader and taking the responsibility. We watched him go back and forth with the guard, not taking any action, even when the guard obviously didn't want to deal with the stress of something a manager should handle. We were also blatantly lied to. We were originally in a 100+ person line. Caleb told me that if we had IMAX tickets, we would get in early, and the IMAX holder line only had 20 people. Instead the security team began with the 100 person line, and then had the preferred line for IMAX holders go after them. I brough this up to Caleb only to have one of his guards cut me off, obviously trying to win brownie points with the boss. The guard lied to me, saying, "those people who went in aren't going to go in before you, they're just going to another line to wait". I could look through the fence and see them getting to play the games. Just lying to try to get people to shut up and obey. It was another hour after they got to go in before we even got to the gates. Eventually, when we got to the gates to enter, we were individually handed waivers to sign. This was a huge bottle neck in time. Why not just have people sign the waiver while they're already in line? You make us wait long enough as it is. Even though I bought my IMAX tickets, they didn't even check that. So anybody could have gone in, even though the security made such a big deal over it. They also never checked our ID, even though we also heard them make a big deal about being over 17 or having a guardian over 30. The team also had no idea anything about the event. People who came after the lines were closed were told by the guard, "you can't come in, this is it. You'll have to come back next year". Next year? Really? This attraction was open for at least another week at that point. This attraction desperately needed a marketing team. The real nightmare was in how the customers and potential movie goers were treated. Because of the horrible way the security team behaved towards me and the other people, I actually wound up cancelling my IMAX tickets and have a general apathy towards the IT franchise. This has left a bad taste in my mouth. And in the future, if I see any event with Toomer, I'm just going to leave for something better.

During Halloween Horror Nights, the tram converts into the Terror Tram where they drive you a short distance and then stop and tell you to get off and walk the rest of the way back to the park. Sounds kind of sketchy, right? It's actually the opposite - you get to walk past some of the movie sets like the War of the Worlds airplane crash or the Bates Motel which you can only see from a distance while in your tram seat during the day, but it is transformed into a walkthrough maze during HHN. The theme for the Terror Tram the past couple of years is Blumhouse - to horror fans like myself, that is definitely a household name. Blumhouse has produced some of the most iconic horror movies and characters over the last 15 years - like M3gan, The Purge, Insidious, Five Nights at Freddy's and even some of the more recent Halloween installments to only name a few. I love their movies! The Terror Tram was definitely my favorite experience this year where you got to come face to face with some of the popular characters from the movies I mentioned above! They even offered a photo op with M3gan herself, Norman Bates in front of his house and one with a bloody Hollywood sign in the back!
