From what I observed during my trial membership, they offer excellent programming, especially for children--before and after school care and summer programs are clearly a strong focus, and it's great to see these important needs being met. My main reason for trying the Y was to evaluate whether the $49/month membership would meet my personal fitness needs, particularly in the gym/exercise area. I found a solid range of equipment available for most muscle groups, including multiple sets of free weights, squat racks, and a variety of dumbbells. The only muscle group missing dedicated support was for lateral raises. While the equipment is a bit dated, that's not necessarily a problem if it's well maintained. Unfortunately, some upkeep is needed. For example, several weight selector pins were rusted, making them difficult to use. A simple rust removal and lubrication would go a long way. I also noticed torn padding on some benches and machines, which could benefit from repair or replacement. Small improvements like these would greatly enhance the functionality and make the gym more competitive with traditional fitness centers. That said, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the facility has a positive, community-oriented atmosphere. I'd recommend this YMCA to anyone looking for more than just a gym--particularly families and individuals interested in a wide range of programming and activities beyond fitness alone.

The spa owner was there on a Sunday cleaning (love that personal interest), asked about a pedicure and she took time out to take care of me. Penny has done a blow out for me. Ive had the best hard gel nails from Jenny. Started 3mos ago getting 90min monthly massages from Gina. Love these ladies! Once you get into the studio, it is welcoming, there's a water station, two bathrooms, and everything you need for new and seasoned yogis!!! And then the class begins and it's like the set of Cheers where everybody knows your name and if you're new, like I was, they're so glad you came!! When you walk into the space, there are candles and stations set up around the room for every participant - bolsters, blankets, eye masks, weighted blankets...you name it, they are there AND crystal bowls for a live sound bath!! This I the first class I have taken where I didn't have to do anything - Nancy hooks you up...she helps you get into the poses, she adjusts everything, she places the weighted blankets on you...she does EVERYTHING!!! It is the most relaxing class I have taken! She plays the bowls and shares words of wisdom all while you are nestled in a little personal cocoon...it was amazing!!! And when the class ends, Nancy is adamant that you do NOT clean up! This hour is your hour - your hour for reflection, your hour for relaxation, your hour for self care...and it was the best hour I spent that week! I look forward to the next time I am able to visit and take this class!! What an amazing class and studio and most importantly, Nancy is an instructor who gives 200% to her students and it is so appreciated!
