She's a very busy lady and you can book online to see her which is really cool. You may need to check back often to see if there are openings or maybe book a couple months ahead of time. After a not-so-great experience, took a chance on Vanessa, owner at Evolve salon in Kalispell. Not only did she give me exactly the haircut I described, but she quickly assessed my hair type and helped me confirm the cut was a good decision for me. Vanessa was very personable and created very fun conversations WITH me, not just talking AT me. We need to feel comfortable with the stylist and if they give us a great cut, icing on the cake! I felt very at home in her salon setting and other stylists were also very friendly to me. I have found my home salon and it is a relief to stop fretting that I will not find a good fit. I highly recommend the salon in general and Vanessa in particular, although she said all staff are just as accommodating and personable. read more

Love love love this place! Kelsee always does a fantastic job on my hair. She loves what she does and it shows. She's super busy for a reason! I've tried other salons in the area and this is by far the only one where you'll get what you need done quickly but without sacrificing quality and without the harsh chemical smell other salons have. Can't speak to the actual cut... but called this morning to get an appointment and was told they had a same day in 10 minutes. I told them we were coming from Whitefish and it would take at least 20, they said that would be fine. We drove out just for the cut and were told they could no longer take us. There was only one person cutting a haircut at the time and two stylists hanging around. Interesting business model, wouldn't recommend. read more

Phil is awesome! I recently had a couple of REALLY bad hair cuts (kind of traumatic, actually) and feared going back to another stylist. He took my crappy, very short and not much to work with hair and made it comfy again. I can't wait to see how my hair will look over the next year, now that I finally found a great stylist. It's hard to find a good hair stylist when you're traveling, so I was delighted to see high marks on Yelp for Phil Dennison at Evolve Salon in Kalispell! I have short silver-grey hair (I'm a grandma) and Yelp reviews highlighted Phil's skill styling short hair. Also, Evolve is located across from the Kalispell Library so my husband could read and relax as he waited for me to get my hair cut. After 2 months of growth, my hair felt quite long (for me) but Phil calmly trimmed and shaped it so I looked like "myself" again when he was done! He's easy to chat with, knows his craft and made my hair look great. I will return when I'm back in the area visiting family (every month or so). Also, the salon is comfy, has "hip western" decor, and is easy to find. Highly recommended! read more

Came here not so much from the good reviews on Facebook, but because the place looked stylish. It's the kind of open, renovated old space that I like, in the old KM building. They weren't on Yelp yet, but Hey, that's what being a true Yelper is, right? I made my appointment on Schedulicity which is a plus for me. I hate calling to make appointments. Online is much preferred. I went with Phil because his availability was what worked for my shcedule. Sad to say, I've never had a guy cut my hair. He specializes in short hair. I was going from down to my butt hair to something shorter. I didn't go really short, but what he came up with I really like. I've gotten lots of compliments! Phil was personable, professional, and had this great stance as he was cutting my hair, as if I was a canvas and he was painting. I'll be back. I really liked my experience :-) read more

I love this salon so much! I drive all the way from Missoula to get my hair done by Vanessa. The salon is located in a really cool historic building downtown. The decor is modern and fun and always clean. I love that I can book my appointments easily online. Vanessa has done my hair for around 20 years now and always does an amazing job.
