I just called to book an appt to get highlights done the 1st week of July. I spoke with someone named Jillian and wow, from the start I noticed a bit of an attitude. I mentioned Id like to book with Monica and before I could say anything else she quickly and with a tone told me Monica hasn't worked there in YEARS. OK, no problem. Well I would still like to book since the salon got good reviews. We settled on a date and a person. When I asked the price for the service, I simply said, "oo thats pricey". Her comment was "well, it is Whitefish and maybe I should look to Kalispell if those prices were too high". I mentioned that I didnt care for her attitude that I detected from the start. Let's just say I had a hair disaster, and Monica changed my life! I had shaved all my hair off, and the grow in stages were pretty rough. I lost confidence, and didnt feel like myself. Monica completely transformed my hair. I had this brassy, weird copper tone from leftover henna (hence the hair shave) and Monica mastered this beautiful champagne blonde that has held up great! I had Bailey cut 7 inches off my hair. She was super friendly and had awesome style. I was sold with my hair when I left (I think because it was styled). But when I washed my hair for the first time, I noticed that it is uneven and definitely not what I wanted. I wanted something easy and blunt/messy. It looks so bad on the ends. Not blended well. I am sooo frustrated because I'd been indecisive about cutting it and finally did it. I trusted the stylist and now I hate it. I cannot straighten it or wear it naturally. The only way it looks good is curled or in a ponytail. I'm going to get it fixed by another salon. read more

I was in desperate need of a hair cut, since I've only had my hair cut twice since I've moved from NE over a year ago. Booked a cut with Nancy that afternoon. She did a great job took off what was needed and still left me with shoulder length healthy hair. I love the versatile style. Highly recommend Nancy. I booked an appointment for my daughter for a haircut the day of my hair appointment. Each time when I arrived no one acknowledged me or even said hello. I sat for over 15 minutes until a stylist came to me and noted she was running at least 15-20 minutes late and we could go upstairs for coffee. We waited a few minutes, when upastairs for a cupcake and coffee and she stylist was still not ready and at this point she was over 1/2 hour late. I am very disappointed in their customer service, and general unfriendly behavior. The salon is dark, dank and its clear that even though they are the most 'popular' place in town, they have outgrown their britches!! I can see by the empty chairs that this business will continue to go downhill unless they do something fast, total bummer!!! read more

I made a consult appointment w/Gillian & Monica about my grey, ash, copper blonde highlight botch & they were very knowledgeable on what my next steps were to correct the botched blonde highlights gone way wrong!!! We loved this salon for my recent wedding. We had our nails (and pedi) done by Kristi and and Tara they did a beautiful, professional job. We were running late (twice) and they worked with us to get the job done (even fitting in a gel manicure last minute). We were so busy and running around like mad women trying to put our wedding together, and everyone at the salon put us to ease with their professional but relaxed manner. Stephanie did our hair for the event and did an absolutely beautiful job that exceeded my expectations! I didn't know what I wanted for my day of hair (and I had a difficult hair piece to work with), but after a consultation I would not have done it differently. I am so thankful to the Red Union gals for the wonderful work they did to make our hair and nails look lovely and for helping me feel confident and beautiful on my wedding day.
