Humberto, and his wife (whose name I cannot recall at this time. Sorry!), we're extremely polite and helpful. Humberto was available on short-notice. He arrived on time for the inspection and did a thorough job. He is very detailed oriented and passionate about what he does. He treated my wife and I like we were family. Was very patient and not only answered our questions but encouraged us to ask more and contact him anytime. We did just that. We had contacted him about questions days after the inspection. He always returned our emails, calls and texts. He gave us great advice and recommendations. Humberto gave us a very detailed report within 48 hours. We contacted him multiple times with questions about the report, and he always spoke to us respectfully, with patience and answered all of our questions. He never rushed us (even when it was a weekend). And again, he gave his professional opinion/advice on many things. Having a reliable and competent inspector is beyond value. Home buying is both an exciting and stressful experience, but Humberto helped alleviate that stress. I can not recommend Evolve enough. Do yourself a favor, use them. You will not regret it. Just an FYI, I am first time home buyer. I didn't know much, but I researched the hell out of everything we needed to do. Inspectors do not do mold, asbestos, or any other hazardous inspections. In our case, Humberto noticed something that indicated there could be asbestos in the attic around the vent shafts. He did not say, "You most definitely have it". He simply noticed it and advised us it could be. He didn't try to scare us and say it was definitely asbestos nor did he ignore it and not tell us at all. (We had it checked b/c we had the popcorn ceiling tested anyway. Old home and we wanted to be sure. No asbestos! Woot!). My point is, I read reviews from people complaining that they later found mold in the house, or asbestos, etc and were blaming the inspector. Unless there are obvious signs of mold, asbestos, etc., inspectors have no way of knowing. For example we actually had mold in one of the rooms. However, we did not know about it until we had the painter tear down the wallpaper. There was no physical (nor odor) that indicated there was mold. I don't blame Humberto for not discovering it. There was no moisture, or marking on the wall b/c it was behind the wallpaper. Thankfully it ended up not being severe that it required abatement. It was treated with Kilz and that was that. Inspectors are omniscient. Don't expect them to be. read more

It's almost rare these days you find quality people like Sandra and Humberto. It was last minute when I needed an inspection to happen the same day. Feeling a little nervous if I had selected the right company to do business with, but went ahead and placed that first call. To my surprise, I was told "sure, I can fit you in for today... and this is what the job will entail..." Little did I know, I'd place a few more calls to Sandra, answering every question I had in mind, before meeting Humberto at the place of inspection.  I noticed how Humberto took great pride in his profession and treated my newly built home as if it was his, paying attention to every detail and pointing out all items that were deemed flawed/ potentially dangerous (like the design of the stair rails) and if everything is up to code.  Of course, he was also positive and commented on items that he saw were in excellent condition which calmed my nervousness. My report was ready within 48 hours and it was detailed (30 pages) and included photos.   Sandra kept in contact with me after the inspection and it really showed this husband wife team aren't in the business to just do business, but to be on the customer's side when safety is of the utmost concern. My experience was a pleasant one, and I highly recommend Evolve. read more

Late, incomplete, and poor communication. Format of inspection was good, but unfortunately they sent out an inspector who cited things that were wrong, and then missed others. They bring up a lot of problems and say you need to consult someone else. So if you are buying as is, you have no idea how to move forward. I don't need to spend $500 for someone to test a power switch that I can test myself, tell me it doesn't work then recommend I contact an electrician. Especially if I'm in the last day of my inspection period. What I needed was a professional to use their experience and education to tell me is there an electrical problem? Not God bless you, we are a church-going family, we do right by our customers in one breath, then offer to "fix" a report in the next. I don't need a "fixed" report. I need solid, professional advice. I have no idea how they got all these good reviews. read more
