A True Miracle Worker - "He Gave Me My Life Back!"…read more If I could give Dr. Simon more than five stars, I would. I was in a desperate, heartbreaking place before I found him. Following an MVA, I was diagnosed with various injuries and was eventually confined to a wheelchair for almost two months, and I felt like I was completely out of options. I had seen a parade of specialists--orthopedic doctors, Spine specialist, physiatrist, physic al therapist, and pain management doctors--to no avail. My experience with other medical professionals was deeply frustrating. The orthopedic doctors and spine surgeons essentially washed their hands of me after deciding against surgery- referring me to pain management, physical therapy, and physiatrist for epidurals . Each time an epidural was scheduled, the pain management team had to cancel the procedure because of pain induced high blood pressure. Physical therapy wasn't moving the needle, and I stopped taking opioids due to a real potential for dependency. By now, I was in a wheelchair and in constant pain. I felt completely stuck and hopeless. By the time I met Dr. Simon, I had practically run out of options. Dr. Simon looked at me and said he was going to try to help me. And he actually did. Within just 5 visits, the impossible happened: I was out of the wheelchair and using a walker. After a few more visits, I progressed even further--I was able to walk short distances without a walker and now , within 4 weeks of seeing Dr, Simon, I am walking completely off my walker and walking independently! After months of hitting brick walls with specialists, Dr. Simon is the one who finally got me back on my feet--literally and figuratively. He has given me a brand-new lease on life, and I truly don't know what I would have done without him. I am forever grateful for his compassion, dedication, and skill. We have more work to do, but I now have real hope that I can live an active, pain free life again. Kimi and Pat are great too!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. my son was scarred for life. Not only did they give him entirely too much…read moreanesthesia but they didn't even make sure he was ok at all after the procedure... I mean I would understand him not being able to walk but my baby was incoherent while I was carrying him out the building. I would lift his arm in the air and it would immediately fall like dead weight. Not sure why the dentist chose to not care about the wellbeing of my son AT ALL. Let me ask all the other parents whose child had a procedure done at the SAME dentist office.... HOW did they put your baby to sleep???? They had my son sit on my lap and face towards me then they walked up behind him and gave him a shot in the back of his shoulder that put him to sleep .... For a procedure that might have taken 20 minutes. He woke up that night & vomited twice but seemed to be physically okay in the morning, BUT MENTALLY they scarred my baby. I wouldn't recommend this dentist to grown adults, so I damn sure wouldn't recommend it to a scared child who was being forced to do the procedure without the presence of his mother.... AND LET ME JUST SAY.... I GENUINELY BELIEVE THE GOOD REVIEWS FROM THIS DENTIST ARE FAKE ... THATS HOW HORRIBLE MY EXPERIENCE WAS. THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT GOOD WITH CHILDREN NOR DO THEY MAKE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE OR "AT HOME"

Got scammed. I was told I had to pay for anesthesia upfront and I could bill it back to my…read moreinsurance as it was 80% covered in network and I was at an in-network provider. Well, turns out the anesthesiologist is out of network and I'll never see that money again. Additionally I was not allowed to stay with my child and was pressured to either cancel the procedure ($750 in the hole having paid for the anesthesiologist up front) or leave my child alone and scared to be sedated because there's a nationwide ketamine shortage and parents are allowed to wait with children if it's ketamine but NOT allowed if it's NOT ketamine?? Sedation is sedation. I get that these professionals need to do their jobs without hysterical parents interfering, but I need to be able to comfort my child while they're being sedated to avoid PTSD from this dental visit. A very kind woman explained the "Ketamine rule" to me AFTER my I was separated from my crying child, and at no time before or during was that explained. As I was calmly and politely requesting to stay with my child and hold hands during the sedation, I was intimidated and threatened with loss of money and services if I didn't cooperate, at the expense of my child's health and well-being. Had this not been a critical service that I had already paid a hefty sum for, I would've left. Instead, I calmly cooperated and allowed them to complete the work they were scheduled to perform. They had me in a difficult position and exploited that. I was told if I wanted to hold my child's hand, I needed to leave and schedule a hospital procedure. There was no children's hospital in network that does sedation and dentistry- hence the name of this practice - "Center for Pediatric Dental Sedation". At a different practice, I was allowed to stay with my child for a similar procedure, just not at this practice. Had to fill out several forms about how I needed to consent to have my child restrained, coerced, put in time-out etc. in order to sedate them, when it seems easier to just let me hold her hand and comfort her. They crank up the TV in the lobby and a radio on the other side of the lobby door to drown out the other children screaming in terror. Seriously. The children have to do this alone without their parents to comfort them. Additionally the forms mention nitrous oxide several times and when I made a request, was told they don't use it at all. They need to update their forms to remove it, and don't list it as an option. I also requested composite fillings instead of silver, and after debating the merits with me for ~5 minutes, told me that they actually don't even have composite, only silver. We could've saved ourselves some time if they just told me that up front. The conversation was pointless. I called my insurance company to process the sedation claim and was told, after the insurance company called the provider, that I basically got scammed. The estimated service itemized treatment plan listed the sedation ($750 upfront) on the estimate date and the final cost on the procedure date did not list the sedation so I don't have a procedure to link to the sedation, which my insurance company told me was a "massive red flag" and will not be reimbursed. The insurance representative was honestly angry on my behalf. Dr. Oh was pleasant and patient. Dr. Polk the anesthesiologist was intimidating, indifferent and cold. The staff was sympathetic and kind but not upfront about the insurance and the ability to stay with my child. The procedure needed to be done for my child's health and well-being, and I'm glad it's over and done with. I will not visit this practice again and will seek out a different provider in the future.

My story will be a long one, so if you don't have time to read, feel free to move on to the next…read morereview. I will start off by saying; Dr. Potts and his team of professionals have been the best to work with- ever. I don't say that lightly as I have seen my share of medical professionals over the years. I am a 50 yr old female with a long history of chronic low back issues. I have a condition called "Foot Drop" which means I have to always wear an AFO (ankle foot orthotic) in order to walk without a pronounced limp. After 4 years of taxing my body with my gait being off, my right hip started bothering me. Within a 12 month period my hip degenerated to a point where it incapacitated me. Now, mind you, I am a physically active adult and have always been The pain got worse. It got so bad that after sitting in the car for more than an hour, I had a difficult time getting out of the car and when I finally did manage to stand up strait my right leg would lock itself into a 90º angle and it would take about 20-30 seconds to work its way back down to standing. I had received a recommendation for Dr. Potts from another Orthopedic Surgeon. I was a little unsure of Dr. Potts given his age and I felt like I needed a more experienced doctor. However, once he sat me down and showed me what my hip looked like through computer generation, I couldn't believe my eyes. He was very confident in his ability to repair my hip and get me up and running pain free. Dr. Potts is one of three doctors in the state of GA that repairs labral tears or replacement. He had to take a cadaver tendon and replace part of my labrum in order for me to have full function of my hip...just the thought of that...yuck, but ok...if it helps me walk like a normal human again, I'll do it. My surgery took quite some time as it ended up be more extensive than he/we anticipated. The first 6 weeks after the surgery...omg...the pain. Oh it was horrible. Physical Therapy. This is a MUST. Don't skip it, and do extra work if you are able. The very BEST PT office I've ever been-is called Sportscare Physical Therapy in Johns Creek and Duluth, GA. The owner, Jeff Lewandowski- is brilliant and comes with every PT certification known to man. It has taken me 6 months to recover. Dr. Potts will tell you this right up front, that hip reconstruction take time to heal. It's usually anywhere between 3-6 months. I think it took me a little longer due to my chronic low back issue and foot drop. omg...during my 3-6 month period, my hip would "talk to me". It let me know exactly what it didn't like. There were times when I would tweak it in just the wrong way, and it would hurt like CRAZY, but the pain went away as fast as it came. There one second, gone the next. Then there were days where I couldn't do much at all, so all I would do is rest. Whenever I would call the office about all of my "zings and zangs", they would reassure me that this was normal and would go away over time. It did. Its been 6.5 months since my surgery and I feel GREAT! The hip pain is 98% gone, I am able to walk normally, and it does't get stuck in a 90º angle anymore after sitting for too long. During my last check up with Dr. Potts I told him how well I was doing, and he was, of course very happy to hear the good report. He recommended that I continue to listen to my body, respect the area, so to speak. Now, I experience those "zings and zangs" only when I push myself too hard and it's time to take a rest. My opinion is that Dr. Potts is an excellent surgeon and he comes highly recommended by me. He and his office staff are amazing, the are all very patient and knowledgeable in their field. They treated me with the upmost respect whenever I needed anything, which is hard to come by these days. Good Luck to you!

Other surgeons didn't want to do the surgery or even recommend someone partially due to the complexity and my age of 74. Dr. Potts never hesitated and was confident of good outcome.
