Ohhhh, where do I even start? Ambiance: Ambiance and interior was beautiful--one of the reasons why I wanted to come here for brunch in the first place. Everything was clean and we sat down pretty quickly. The restaurant was not packed--there were many open tables and no line. Unfortunately, that's as positive as my review goes. Service: Our waiter was nice, however, he definitely forgot to put in our ticket. Around 20 minutes after placing our order, he probably noticed that I was a wee bit upset and came over to apologize for the long wait (at this point, customers who were seated after us were getting their food before us). I removed the waiter's name from the receipt out of respect, I know it was a mistake, of which he fixed by providing us with a discount. The food finally came out after 30-40 minutes. We were given a discount for the wait (which I very much appreciated) but the food did not meet my standards at all, especially given that this is a nicer restaurant with (supposedly) high standards--at least from a customer's perspective. Food: This is where everything went sour, to say the least. All we ordered were some Fluffy Pancakes and Smokey Salmon Benny at little after 12--no drinks or anything else, just 2 dishes. The food came out after 30-40 minutes of waiting and well... it was not worth the wait at all. The pancakes were over cooked, not just one but multiple sides were burnt. They were super dense and fell apart with each knife pull.. why are my pancake layers separating from each other? Even when I drenched the pancakes in maple syrup, it was still dry taking even the smallest bite. It looks like they only cut up 1 strawberry and the blueberry purée was sour. For the Benny, the eggs were runny but the hollandaise was basically broken. Definitely not worth the money or wait. The only thing stopping me from giving it a 1/5 is the fact that they tried to make it better by giving us a discount without us asking. TDLR: bad pancakes, long wait, $$$. An extensive menu is displayed on very aesthetically pleasing menus. The whole vibe of the restaurant is the perfect fit for a girly brunch, or date afternoon! It was difficult to choose what to get-- do we do savory? Sweet? I ended up choosing the signature shakshuka served in a soudough bread bowl. To my delight it also came with homefries and a side of greens, ending up as the perfectly balanced meal. Each component was delicious and I appreciated the variety of tastes and textures! For a drink I had the maple latte, served iced. Yum! The drink is made with real maple syrup which I could taste. Overall we had a great experience and I want to come back soon to enjoy a sweet dish! read more

I had the Pistachio French Toast. I have been craving French toast and decided to go for this one. I would have ordered breakfast and then a side but they only make the other French toast as a side. Nevertheless, this was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Coffee is an expensive at $5, it's supposed to be bottomless. The staff seemed a bit frazzled and I had to ask her to refill. They were friendly though. Pretty decor and lots of seating. Very busy on a rainy Saturday. Book ahead if you are a large party. read more

My husband and I were thrilled to find a breakfast spot that catered to both our diet preferences ( carnivore and vegan). The impressive vegan menu was a highlight, and despite it being Father's Day, the wait wasn't too bad. The bright, welcoming space and friendly server added to the pleasant atmosphere. We knew this was a pricier place, but at the time, it seemed worth it. However, that's where our positive experience took a turn for the worse. Drinks and food arrived slowly, and when they finally did, they were cold. We noticed other patrons who had arrived after us were already enjoying their meals. We figured it was a Sunday, so we decided to "chill" and temper our complaints. Eventually, the food was returned with a promise of priority for the next batch, but that promise was just another delay. More patrons came and went, and the food arrived again, slightly warmer. By then, we were starving. My husband, who had worked in hospitality, trusted that some compensation would be made for all the waiting, but nothing came. Well how about this. Oddly easy to walk by but a very popular brunch spot near Queens Park. Some mideastern influence. Great service, big filling plates of food. Great pancakes, great bennys, and I got a healthy salmon with poached eggs and salad choice. Big space, clean, nice booths. We had a terrific experience with our son at UT. Easy when other brunch spots we looked at were hard to get into, overly pricy, or just too small to get into. I'd go back. read more

Sunday, July 26, 2026- Got to the restaurant at 11:30am. It was a full house. The hostess seemed very lost in her role. She took my name and number and we waiting outside. When I I noticed she was seating other's before calling the people on the waiting list we re-entered the restaurant. Eventually we were seated. Within a reasonable time our orders were taken and then we sat and sat and sat. Almost 40 mins later our food arrived. I had the Brunch Besties which was 4.5/5 ( toast was cold and practically no butter, salad was soaked in vinegar)and my friend had the Smokey Salmon Benny which was 1.5/5 ( every on the plate was cold and the side portions we substantially smaller then my portions, salad was soaked in vinegar. I had to get up to get cutlery. We asked our waitress if there was a problem with the house today and she replied that there was some training being done and the kitchen was short staffed. We shared our experience with her and said she would relay the message. I believe the menu prices dont reflect the overall experience. read more

I've walked by the area every few months for the past 3 years. It took them 2 years to renovate and were ready to open Nov 2022. But because of a flood in P1, P2, and P3, the landlord wanted to completely renovate. They finally opened 2023-08-03, but I only saw it open on 2023-08-26, and it looked beautiful inside. I promised myself to try it out. I've never been to any of their 5 locations previously. So here I am having lunch on 2023-08-30. I ordered the French Toast ($20.99). It comes with 3 slices of French toast, blueberries, strawberries, whipped cream, and real maple syrup. The toast was thicker than normal toast. I could taste the freshness. Even the whipped cream was lightly sweet (ie, not overly sweet). I happened to meet the operations manager. He explained many things to me. The Vaughan location is the first, starting 13 years ago. The Simcoe location was the second at 8 years old. I did mention to him that the 3 slices were perfect except a 2 x 2 inch area of one slice that wasn't fully cooked (it was soft and almost runny). Each slice is 2.5 x 6 inches. He offered me a 4th slice, but I said I was already pretty full after 2 slices. The important thing is that he offered implying good customer service. They use the highest quality Steelite plates and salt/pepper shakers. Cups are also made of good quality porcelain. All their food are never frozen, except for the fries. Their breads are a special recipe and outsourced to Cob Bakery to deliver fresh every morning. The first half of their menu is vegan, and the second half is non-vegan. You can also pay extra for gluten-free. Their food costs about $3 more than other restaurants, but their quality is higher. And they don't charge extra for the decor, like other restaurants. The decor was elegant and tastefully done. The customer service was good. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Very good orange juice, i must say i surprised when it cost 4 more extra than the other juices but it was well worth it, and if you are a tourist, the soft drinks cost more than "normal" because they are in cans, i got the smart heart breakfast and it was delicious and huge portions, on another note, it was very busy but very big so we got seated right away. read more

My new go to place for breakfast and brunch! The portions are huge and prices are quite reasonable. My favourite dish so far is the salmon eggs benedict! The omelette lacked a bit of flavour so I had to add salt. The side potatoes are so damn good. My only peeve is that you can't make a reservation so try to get there before 12pm to avoid the crowds! read more

UNETHICAL WEASELS! Here is what I sent to Visa during the chargeback process: "They tried to cheat me by over charging me for my breakfast, and there was 2 ways in which they padded the bill. First they changed the tip to 18% from 15%. Secondly, they added the tax to the total, and then they charged me a tip on the base amount and the tax. Finally, when I spoke to Natalia, I think that was her name, who said she was a manager, she lied to me. She said I would have to come back to the restaurant to make an adjustment to the bill. That was a flat out lie. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!" I was a math teacher, so I can calculate percentages. Many people don't like math, and I think they are deliberately trying to exploit that weakness. Furthermore, many Canadians are very nice, and they are not likely to question their bills or say something about it if they think something is wrong. I will, and I do. Very cute inside!! Unfortunately that's about all the positive I have to say about it. I got the vegan corned beef sandwich which was very disappointing. The "vegan" corned beef was just store bought vegan bacon slices with Daiya cheese. The bread was soggy and full of grease and I found the whole sandwich a big let down. Many of their vegan options are just some combination of store bought vegan products which are all processed. To offer vegan options that are uninspired is a let down, and feels like they have them just to put the word vegan on their menu. If you are vegan I'd suggest Planta brunch instead. read more

Was here for a late breakfast on a Monday. Beautiful new location. Very nice high ceilings. I was actually headed over to the Tim Hortons next door, but decided to go in here. It was lunch time so almost 60% full. Was in the mood for a simple breakfast and coffee, ordered the eggs, tomato, avocado, potatoes and toast option. All fresh and eggs reasonably done, making me want to come again for more complicated options, of which there were plenty. Both vegan, gluten-free and non-vegan variety. Service was average / slow as I waited a while for my meal, a coffee refill and the bill. Definitely a place to revisit though. read more

Three of us had lunch at the Wellesley west location of Evviva on Thursday April 25th. A friend who works in the building warned us not to go if we were in a hurry. My first impression is that they have done an absolutely beautiful job on the decor. The high ceilings, natural light, and high end fixtures were lovely. The booth we sat in was very roomy and comfortable and the tables were nicely spread apart. It felt like a "ladies who lunch" atmosphere. The menu was very large, with lots of breakfast and lunch choices, half of them being vegan. Prices were fairly high, but not out of line. But that warning from my friend about the service was no joke. We waited a very long time to order, well over 20 minutes. I ordered an omelette. We then waited over 45 minutes for our food to come, and it only finally came when we told a random waitress, who we literally had to grab, (our waiter was nowhere to be seen) that we had an appointment and had to get our food asap or we would have to leave. We also asked for the bill along with the food, as we had observed other tables waiting an incredibly long time for their bills. There were many tables with people waiting for food who had arrived before us. One table of 12 was there before we arrived, and their food only came as we were leaving an hour and a half later! When our food finally arrived, the presentation looked good. However, only one of my pieces of toast was buttered, and only in middle of the bread, and my potatoes were cold. This was strange, as my friends' potatoes were hot. My eggs were quite good. One of us ordered eggs benedict, and one egg was perfect but the other was not done properly. We didn't dare ask them to redo the eggs or heat the potatoes. When we paid, one friend wanted to pay in cash, but our waiter did not have enough change. It would be a real shame if this location doesn't survive due to poor management, because they clearly put a lot of money into the decor. I have heard that other locations are much more organized. Clearly they were having serious issues with their kitchen and waitstaff here. If they can figure that out, this place would be great for a leisurely brunch or lunch. In the meantime, if you are planning anything afterward or have to go back to work, I suggest you do not try Evvivo on Wellesley until they improve their service! read more
