This store needs to update their check out registers so that they accept credit cards with the "tap" feature. It is difficult to use a credit card there, register # 9, the clerk took us to customer service to pay for our order since her machine was not accepting our gift card and credit card! This is unacceptable! Wish I could give no stars! Walmart needs to do better and upgrade their machines-I don't have this problem at Wegman's! read more

Or, more pointedly directed to the store: YOU have an extremely unpleasant middle aged man who "rules the roost " at the west self check out counters. I've done self check out only once before (where he was similarly rude but it was early on July 4 so I gave him the benefit of the doubt). All of the self check-out registers on the "Home" of the store are broken in some fashion. All 4 of them had broken hand held scanners so you couldn't scan large or heavy items. Also, 2 of the 4 registers couldn't read credit cards with chips. "Helper" for these registers was too busy on her cell phone to provide any assistance, so I left my purchase in the cart at the register. read more

First. Isn't this Zions Crossroads, Va.?? Not Gordonsville. Next. The inside. Big.Roomy.Clean. Best of all they don't have the huge gaylord boxes full of stuff in the middle of the aisles like the Warrenton one. Also. Prices. A bit less expensive than my Warrenton Walmart. Lastly. We chose one item to purchase. Went to the check out register 23 for speedy checkout and there we stood.......theeerrre we stood.....all alone at check out#23. We did see two staffs hold hands and skip across the entire front entrance. But, alas, we ended up walking over to another register to stand in line and pay for our one item. After some years of this store being in operation I am finally compelled to write a review. I gave our local Walmart here at Zion's Crossroads near troy VA 2 stars because it exists. It's better to have it than not. If I had to drive any real distance to get to the store I would give it 1 star. Here's why: 1-stocking is terrible. Like a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get at this store. It's within a stones throw of a Walmart Distribution center...we get the truck traffic, but it seems like they just drive past this store so we are left with empty shelves of some items sometimes for weeks. 2-the produce department is as inept as any I have ever seen anywhere...not just at Walmart's...anywhere. I cannot count how many times I could not find a price for an item. The people running and working in this department have been doing this for years, this is not a one-off review...I live here and we have shopped here for years. 3-While I have had great personal experience with the behind the counter folks at the pharmacy...the process at the pharmacy counter moves like a tortoise that isn't even in the race. I won't even pick up my prescriptions if there are more than two people ahead of me...you can feel yourself age waiting in this line and no-one at the counter is hustling. And dirty. I have stood in line at the pharmacy and observed the dirt, dust bunnies and debris gathered at the toe kick of the counter. The place where you get your meds should not be un-swept in my opinion, but no one at this store can see it I suppose or they refuse to pick up a broom if it's not on their task list. This, like the produce department is a result of terrible management. 4-Widely varying quality of personnel. There are some great people working here. If you encounter one of those, good for you; but there are a lot of people who are clearly just making hours. 5-Try to call and get a department to speak with you. Go ahead...try. I have given up more than I have actually reached someone to ask a question. They will transfer you....it will ring until it rings back to the front desk...they will page someone....you will wait...they will page someone again and transfer you...you eventually realize you could have driven there personally and answered your own question by the time you can get a person from a department on the phone. I'm not sure what happened to Walmart in general. The people used to be pumped up and ready to serve, but I have seen lackadaisical personnel at many locations. This location is not the worst I've seen, that was in Texarkana. Zion's Walmart is not quite as excruciating as Texarkana, but it could use a lot of improvement. I have one positive comment beyond being happy the store does exist. Their store brand and store made products are pretty good, especially the bakery and I love the discount bakery rack. read more

This store never has anything you need in stock and the customer service is horrible. Never have any cashiers working and you can hang it up trying to call and get a question answered. They transfer you back and forth and back and forth and if you do happen to get lucky and reach someone they have no idea what you're talking about. read more

Zero stars actually. A pharmacy that shuts down from 1:30-2 on the weekend for lunch, why can't they rotate, there is at least 2 pharmacist and 2 assistants there at all times. If only my insurance company didn't make me go there. They're always slow, long line-not plural, one register, not convenient, terrible hours for a 24 hr. store. read more

The store continued to allow customers in to shop but then shut down the lines and basically left dozens of shoppers patiently waiting to get checked out before the store actually closed. When I mentioned this to the manager as I departed the store he had a good laugh about it. They should have shut the doors and not allowed more shoppers in knowing they were about to shut down the registers or at least checked out those they allowed into the store. I go up to zoins crossroads for a doctor's appointment after that we all go to walmart well I can say there never in stock with anything like the pool stuff and a very poor selection and the clothes like the shorts that they have it's like dressing a dool or there up to your personal parts now I don't want shorts like that it has been 3 years since I have been trying to find some good shorts. The auto center is always understaffed. You can come in at opening 7 am and end up waiting 3/4 hours for something simple like an oil change or changing a tire. I change my oil at home faster without half of the proper equipment they have available. I had to come three days in a row at 7am just to get a tire changed each day it only seemed to be 3 people working and and then I received attitude because I expressed that I can't wait much longer because I have a class. Went to wal mart today and while in a isle a man was sweeping and hit at my older friends feet and said move and my friend moved because this janitor full force. What was crazy is he went out his way to turn and come towards me just getting out of the hospital with my back brace on getting over the counter meds. I warned him not to hit his broom like that at me and I would be out of his way in seconds. He proceeded to rudely say move and kept moving the broom intimidating. As I was reading and comparing meds he was poofed out and stayed there with the broom back and forth at my feet and stood there right at me.. This store is an absolute joke. I took my car in to get an oil change and the guy actually doing my oil change calls me and tells me that he's dropped my oil but they didn't have an oil filter for me. He said that I would need to go up to advanced auto parts, get one, and bring it to him. He said I only had a certain amount of time before he'd just push it out of the bay. So obviously had no car and my wife had to drop what she was doing , come pick me up from the house, take me to advanced and then to walmart. Its unheard of. An absolute fucking joke. read more

I've pointed some items out for them that were priced incorecctly and returned days later and they were still the same. i encourage all who shop there to pay attention to the prices they are marked for and what rings up at the register. Horrible managed store! The deli crew are slower than hell. The produce is the worst. Produce is over ripe and over priced at times. Walmart in Gordonsville. The place we love to hate. I've read comments from others when this store first opened and up to the present time. Now, here it is almost 2019 and Walmart is getting worse, not better. Wish we still had a state consumer advocacy law that would write them up. The store is a dangerous fire hazard. Bet you don't know where the emergency exits are if you needed to reach them and couldn't go to the front. My point is - the aisles are too narrow and stuffed with boxes and displays, stockers with ladders, and shoppers deadlocked because they are unable to go through without having to wait for stopped carts. My other peeve is the prices being non-existent on the shelves or are under the incorrect package. I understand there will be a new grocery store when the commercial area is further developed. I hope it is a good one - at least a Kroger, but even a Food Lion would be better than Walmart. Right now, with no competition for this store, the manager, whose name is Ali, doesn't care. A Family Dollar Store and an auto service place would do well, and give WM some much needed competition. read more

We were passing through headed home to Missouri & got a blow out on our trailer. We limped to Walmart only to find the guy tell us they didn't want to start a new project they had enough to keep them busy until they close. We got there at 6 they close at 7!!!! This Walmart is awful. We have been refused help,and have had most of the employees at some point be very rude to us. Items are so often in the wrong spot,or priced incorrectly. Most of all customer service is almost non existent anymore. The customer doesn't matter. Seems anyone can get a job there and work however they please. Especially being rude to customers, carrying on personal conversation while customer waits(at times inappropriate ones too),and not honoring prices if something wasn't in the right place or priced incorrectly.
