Well we picked a light for our master bath, they said it was too big and to pick another. I picked another light that they approved and when it was going to be installed, it's too big. The first said they can't return it bc it is special order (even if it's in stock but over $500, then it's considered special order). So it can't be returned. Then they told me that they would allow an exchange but they will only give my 60 percent back. This is absolutely ridiculous.

It was at this point I realized they were not interested in my business. I informed them that I already had one estimate but wanted a second. He told me the estimate I received sounded fair. We ended the call, and a few moments later I get this voice message. To which I thought, no thanks. I purchased several light fixtures from them, only to later find the exact same lights at Home Depot for one-third of the price. On top of that, about ten of the fixtures were missing a small bolt/nut that holds the shade in place. This makes changing a bulb extremely difficult. Only one fixture included the correct part, which is how I even realized the rest were missing. I searched every hardware store in town for this tiny 15-cent nut--no one carries it. When I contacted Wilson, they told me to reach out to Maxim, the manufacturer. Maxim then told me to contact Wilson because they were responsible for making it right. In the end, I was told I'd have to pay $10 per light fixture for each tiny nut--something that should cost pennies and should have been included in the first place. This is unacceptable customer service. After paying hundreds of dollars for fixtures, the least they could do is provide the missing parts. You would think a lighting store would carry basic hardware for the products they sell. Instead, for what they want to charge me for a few tiny nuts, I could buy several brand-new lights. You know when gamers throw their control and 'rage quit?' That's what happened to me with an…read moreelectrical project. I hate that I had to to it, but I called in the professionals at Galvin. They were responsive on Yelp with Request-A-Quote, and while a notch higher than some others, I figured what the hell. They could have someone out same day and the reviews looked great. The tech was later than expected (4-6 p.m. window and arrived closer to 6:30) which wasn't ideal as we had sat down to dinner. Fortunately the job was small and he was quick to handle it. To me it's a lot like calling a plumber; it's going to cost you, but you know it's going to be done right. Galvin seemed professional in how they booked and assigned the electrician. Not every service company can say the same. Hopefully won't need them again, like, ever, but if so I would recommend them and go with them again.
