The sales guy left a bad taste in…read moremy mouth when he told me to "take your crappy monitor" (RUDE!) and leave after refusing to sell a boatload of DVDs and Blu-rays to me. I showed up at the shop right when they opened and tried to sell my grandma's small Vizio TV but unfortunately it was too old for them to buy it so I put it back in my car. I went back into the shop with a large shopping bag with the intent of filling it up with DVDs and Blu-rays for my personal use and to resell on eBay. He at first told me that the prices listed on the individual Blu-rays were negotiable and that he could give me a deal. Well after he saw me on my phone looking up prices and scanning movies, he told me that he wasn't going to give me a good deal if I was just gonna flip them. After about an hour of browsing their entire impressive collection, I brought hundreds of dollars worth of movies to the counter and asked how much the DVDs were and how much the Blu-rays were. The sales guy said, "Honestly, I'm going to charge you the prices listed." Mind you, the prices listed on the Blu-rays varied widely from $5.99 to $19.99 which is insane for pawn shop prices. A fair market price for a pawn shop Blu-ray is $3 max, and DVD $2 max. I was prepared to pay that but the guy was such a jerk to me and refused to do business with me. He said, "We're not here for you to make money off of," (isn't that what pawn shops do to their sellers?) and even said, "Had you been more upfront about (flipping) in the first place, I might've cut you a deal" which is total BS. I think I might've just touched a soft spot on him by trying to make an honest living just like him, and I bluntly told him, "That's not fair" and "That's none of your business." Why does he care so much about what I do with the stuff I buy fair and square? I will never go back to this place and have warned all my friends, family, and coworkers. I will post this review everywhere I can. And THEN, in order to have the last word, the sales guy told me to take my "crappy monitor" with me and leave. His ego must've been more important than making a good sale. I could tell the Blu-rays and DVDs hadn't moved in months, maybe even years because they were dirty and dusty and faded and sun bleached. Take your business elsewhere, like Excel Pawn in Shakopee just down the road or literally anywhere else. The guys at Excel Pawn treated me with respect and were happy to part with stacks of DVDs and Blu-rays when I went there next. Avoid Pawn X Change. Unfair, rude, unprofessional, nosy, and unintelligent.

I had pictures, detailed information, and a solid conversation with an associate who confirmed, "Sure, we would buy those!" They even looked up the value while I was there. Two days later, after loading everything onto a trailer and driving 30 minutes in traffic, I returned to the store--spoke to the exact same associate, with the exact same items, and the story completely changed. They waited until everything was unloaded before pulling the switch. No explanation, no courtesy, just a waste of time, gas, and effort. And then it went from frustrating to flat-out absurd: I was accused of vandalism and the police were called. For what? Expressing my frustration? Loading my items back onto the trailer? No returning their cart to the entryway from the parking lot. It was humiliating and unnecessary. The Anoka Police viewed the security footage and was like..."What a waste of my time." I could not agree more. This wasn't a miscommunication--it was a lack of integrity and professionalism from the HEAD - down. If you value your time, energy, and basic human decency, consider going anywhere else. The "Head Roach" clearly is better suited for sewers than customer service and sales. My receipt doesn't say they appraised my model properly either. It doesn't denote the upgraded model that I sold them. Nothing I can do, I do not argue. I just take my business else where. It is really annoying making 100k a year, then getting injured and feeling played. I drove in on fumes, but I may not be back when I get paid now. I hope you guys learn to appreciate that. Sellers can be buyers if you treat them right. Honestly wanted to buy a phone but I waited for an hour before I got whooped on my appraisal. Yes, the owner did ask more than once to return to the store, so he could see the completed product. There had been many pictures sent with my communications. He would still be using the same jeweler (retired works ad lib when orders placed). Documentation of job orders, pictures, yet no acknowledgment work was not done properly. Other communications poor. I have my rings; I paid my bill. Will proceed with correction of work elsewhere.
