Roberto also installed a spring mechanism on one of our gates to make it self closing. What a nice honest competent gentleman! First, before I had called him, I did my due diligence to be sure his license is active, and it is. Then when I called, he said he was just getting off a job and could swing by to see what the problem is with my gate. He came and said he could fix it and he thought it might cost x amount taking into consideration what he thinks the cost of the replacement part. After going to get the part, when he came back within like 15 minutes, he said the cost of the part was much less and reduced the charge accordingly. That is being honest. And he did a great job because my gate was also not closing right so he fixed that too. And he cleaned up after himself even though I told him that I could take care of it but he did it anyways. I rarely write reviews - I felt like I had to based on such a great experience. The job was repairing an old front grill (in front of front door) that was not only warped and needed to be pushed in for the lock to work, but also had a 30yo deadbolt lock that was double cylinder, which means that it uses keys on both sides, i.e. a major fire safety hazard. Replacing with a single cylinder deadbolt (latch on one side, keys on only one side) meant adding a security plate and mesh on the front grill to prevent reaching the latch from the outside. Last but not least, I wanted a smart deadbolt installed with the single-cylinder deadbolt housing. First, it was very difficult to get a hold of any welders - everyone is so busy. Second, a lot of welders would only install new gates, which I didn't have the budget for - and they didn't do repairs. Third, a lot of welders were only interested in large projects, so relatively small jobs were deprioritized and often ignored. I reached out to 6 services, and Roberto was 1 of 2 that got back to me and offered to help. Despite being busy and backed up, Roberto came over, inspected the front grill, and discussed the different options to resolve my issues. He offered different price points, and clearly stated what the pros and cons were for each. He was frank upfront that he didn't do paint jobs, which I appreciated. His prices were also competitive. He explained how backed up he was with projects, and that he would reach back out to me after he completed a couple of big projects. I sent him a reminder a couple of weeks later, and he found an opening, came by, and did everything I was hoping for in 2 days. Later, I had a question on something related to the grill, and he came back again and helped resolve the issue. I also loved how he explained everything, I felt like an apprentice haha.
