I had been going to Dr. Park for a few years after being referred from my primary care physician. In each appointment, I felt as if my skin was not even looked at. He spends majority of the time with you on his phone (most likely charting) but still, I would like my acne to be looked at before given prescriptions. What he had been prescribing had not been working, and at my last appointment, I came in requesting to be put on a popular acne medication for women. He began a rant how he doesn't prescribe that and how I will struggle with infertility due to my age and that the medication would make it worse. While this may be true, the bedside manner in which this was told to me was harsh and too blunt. He prescribed me instead a medication that was $200, which is too much for me to pay for a medication that may or may not work. He had also told me at one of my recent appointments that I had perioral dermatitis. After now seeing a new dermatologist, everything he had told me was not true (false information about the medication, my diagnosis). If possible; avoid coming here. My concerns were not heard and my skin was barely even glanced at. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before visiting this dermatologist. I went in because I've been dealing with unexplained skin issues for the past year. I even brought my recent allergy panel results and a photo album of my skin to help explain my situation. Unfortunately, Dr. Bruce didn't look at any of the materials I brought, nor did he address my questions or concerns. He spent most of the appointment looking at his phone. The entire visit lasted less than five minutes, and he simply prescribed a steroid cream -- which felt careless and dismissive. To make matters worse, I waited weeks for my pharmacy to notify me about the prescription, only to find out there was nothing available for me to pick up. It seems the medication was never even sent to the pharmacy I listed on my intake forms. Overall, the experience was very unprofessional and extremely frustrating. read more

Let me first start off by saying, I do hope the doctor reads this, and I will be reporting him to the medical board. My mother had waited 2 months to get an appointment with this so called poor excuse of a doctor, and not only did she wait over an hour to get roomed for her appointment, once she was finally in, the doctor was already inching his way to the door to get out. The appointment was done not even 5 min in. He blamed her skin issues on her age, and that women and their hormones is something he can't control. to even say something like that is crazy, but he just told her "I don't have any oral medication for you" "just stop eating things that bother you, if you think it's food" and just prescribed her itching ointment. When asked if they did any allergy tests, he told her what most of the patients here on yelp have said, "WE DON'T DO THOSE THINGS." He takes advantage of Korean patients who don't have access to any other Korean dermatologist doctors in the area. AS SOMEONE WHO WORKS IN A HOSPITAL, DON'T SETTLE FOR THIS DIRTBAG, POOR EXCUSE OF A DOCTOR LIKE THIS ONE. Only way this guy gets justice is if NO ONE GOES to him. I have never felt more compelled to write a negative review than after taking my mom to see this doctor for her skin mole. If I can give negative stars I would. This doctor is rude, acts impatient, spends little to no time on the actual medical care of my mom before scheduling to have us come back to laser off her mole. Since my mom is 80+ and frail, I had questions about this surgery no matter how small. She is 82 after all. This doctor has terrible bedside manners, gave rushed answers, made me feel the whole time as if I was bothering him, and actually yelled at me when I asked more follow up questions. I don't know why he even practices, he seems to hate his job and his patients. Hear me out yelpers, when all these people come to yelp to say the same thing, believe us! Stay away from him. Wow, what a caring medical professional (/sarc). I called about a cyst/boil (I'm not sure what) that my son has had for a year and the doctor "doesn't take boil cases", and anyway was booked for over a month as it was. Then when I expressed dismay at the lack of concern (why? Too gross? Not enough money in it for you?) that he wouldn't see my son, the receptionist mocked my words to her coworker. I'm giving Dr. Park five stars mostly based off of him. His office can sometimes be busy and you may have to wait a little while to be seen but he is a good doctor. He will be honest and upfront with how he feels about whatever you have going on with your skin. He caught some skin cancer that a previous dermatologist had pretty much laughed me out of his office when I went to see him about it. Dr. Park knew immediately that it was cancer. He will tell you that you can't say anything for certain with skin conditions, but he was pretty spot on with what he thought about the two areas I had biopsied. He referred me to an amazing Mohs procedure doctor. I am a week or so post procedure and doing well. I probably wouldn't be saying that if I had not seen Dr. Park and gotten a great referral. I will also say that the basal carcinoma I had on almost the tip of my nose was fairly large. Although Dr. Park is not a surgeon, he is pretty damn good with a scalpel. When I had my Mohs procedure, the nurse had to have me point out the area since Dr. Park did such a great job of cleanly removing the surface layer of the cancer. It was almost unnoticeable after that. The only negatives to his office are the front office staff seems like they may get a little mixed up from time to time but they are very sweet and try their very best. Things happen in a busy office and Dr. Park's office can be very busy. He is good at what he does so he should have a busy office. The couple things I had an issue with in the front office were that I was scheduled an appointment on one of those smaller holidays that most people don't have off that also turned out to be a holiday for them so I showed up for an appointment on a day they were closed. That should not have happened. Also, I had them mail me something, but it never arrived. I can't say for certain that it was them and not the postal service in my area since I have had issues with them in the past. read more

Awful experience The doctor gave me an impression that he doesn't care about his patient at all. He just asked some health related questions to prescribe an lotion for acne. That's it. How come he didn't even make follow up appointment to see whether the lotion he prescribed worked or not for acne. His attitude was like he made nothing of his patient. He doesn't even have basic qualifications like care and concerns for patients as a doctor. Dr. Park is an amazing dermatologist. The staff is very friendly, the office is clean and simple, with lots of parking available in the back. He is really good at what he does. He's seen my mom before for a skin condition and he knew exactly what she needed. I went to him for adult acne that started out of nowhere 3 years ago. I have tried numerous OTC skin care for acne including Curology, but nothing worked. It has been quite a journey battling acne. I regret wandering for almost 3 years before I finally decided take time to see Dr.Park. During the encounter, Dr. Park took a look at my acne and he was already writing the prescriptions. He is extremely knowledgable in this field. I dunno about you guys but I like his straight forward style. I am extremely happy with my 1 month+ results using just topical medications he prescribed, along with my usual aha toner and a hydrating moisturizer. Used to be my go-to dermatologist but recently, the staff have been incredibly rude. The tone of the staff on the phone is uncaring, rude, and lazy. When I was told the doctor was booked for two months, I decided to not make an appointment. Before I could even finish my sentence, the staff realizing I wasn't going to make an appointment hung up on me. Previously, I would have given five stars, but now one star seems like too much. Attempted to address a personal issue that has been embarrassing to even discuss with anybody but a professional. Took more than a month to get into the appointment for basically five minutes of his time to ultimately tell me the medical term that I will never be able to remember and about how my issue is common and caused from my own doing. Addressed by prescribing an antibiotic which was not at the pharmacy when I went to pickup along with advise to continue to gently clean. Issue I had was the tone overall of the appointment which made me basically feel like less for not knowing as much about skin as the doctor. Doesn't bother me that the appointment was made quick like ripping off a bandaid for such a topic but definitely have to feel like I'm getting far less care from doctors in this world than I am from the vet that look after my dogs. Provide a pamphlet on tips and tricks to address the particular issue....maybe look more closely at the skin with a magnifying glass or the pictures being provided instead of acting as if you haven't seen every skin problem out there on the planet. Maybe it was a bad time for me to make an appointment is all but it simply doesn't make me wish to attempt to reschedule or go back in for further evaluation. Just a recommendation but there doesn't always have to be one simple and direct answer to get patients out of your office and to give them the impression of being in the know. If there are multiple factors that could be affecting skin then those details should be discussed in greater length (or even in a pamphlet) than what I was provided. I'm assuming this is normal care for anybody that has Cal Optima insurance or doesn't pay a premium for medical care. Repeated name and insurance info several times. When I found out I couldn't get in for over a month, which is fine, I asked about another location. Front staff was great but I can't say the same for the doctor. I came in for the exam and I felt rushed. He didn't want to take the time to answer my questions, all his answers were very short or just one word. In addition to this the medication he prescribed me is brand name only. He could easily prescribe me generic so I can get a months supply for $4 but because he'll only do brand name I'm looking at $85 for one month. My guess is that he gets extra money for writing brand name prescriptions and that's why he does it. Doesn't care about his patients at all. Avoid this place and go somewhere else. read more

I was referred by my Family Physician to Dr. Bruce Sung Park to further examine some skin rashes I had recently. The office was very nice with ample parking and was actually closer to me than my Family Physician's location here in the OC.(I believe Dr. Park also has another office on the "Miracle Mile" near "K-Town" in LA) My first impression was that the Fullerton Office was quite clean, and tidy with plenty of comfortable seating. There was access to a cross gender restroom right by the waiting room. The staff was very kind, caring and efficient too. Now since it was my initial appointment I knew I would get the dreaded questionnaire on the clip board routine and of course the copay. But to my amazement it only took me no more than 10 minutes to complete everything aforementioned. Dr. Park had many patients so I thought he must be good if so many people wanted to go and see him. I waited only an additional 20 to 30 minutes before I was called by one his assistants who led me to a treatment room. She later did my vitals and interviewed me taking notations for Dr. Park to review. When Dr. Park came in to examine me he was quite matter of fact yet caring and professional. I also found him to have a great sense of humor too. Quite contrary to some of the other reviews I had read. He is a "cut to the chase" type of Physician and "TCBs". Dr. Park wrote me out a prescription with a Specialty Dermatology Pharmacy based in Glendale named "Hope Pharmacy". They saved me some money and they also mailed the prescription to my residence asap. You might say Dr. Park was like "Aaron Neville....Tell It Like It Is"...I was out of there in about 15 minutes. I came back in about a month to see how the prescription worked and to get a biopsy. Turned out the initial diagnosis of my Family Physician was incorrect. So Dr. Park wrote me out a another prescription but this time I just had to go to my regular go to pharmacy. So at this writing I'll be back to see the prognosis and receive further treatment next month. I really have complete confidence in Dr. Park he is a graduate of the Hahnemann School of Medicine aka Drexel (Honor Roll) and did his residencies at Beth Israel Deaconess and LA County University of Southern California.He is also Certified with the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Park, his office staff and assistants are outstanding, and very kind, they are all Bilingual in English and Korean as well. I consider it a blessing that I was referred to this fine Physician for treatment. I highly Rx him to all. Kudos to you Dr. Park...."Tell It Like It Is!" =) read more

I had to see a doctor urgently today. They scheduled me in on the same day just after holding the line for few minutes. Staffs are nice and friendly. I thought waiting time on the phone was long. However, I understood why when I saw the volume of phone calls they get. They get non-stop calls. Their customer service was good compared to that of other assistants busy getting their coffee and talking about their boyfriends or kids. Dr. Bruce is very kind in explaining dosage and symptoms. He pulled out his personal phone to show me the pictures of other patients. He is also considerate enough to think for my situation. I had my insurance expired just few days ago, so he tried to prescribe medicine that is affordable and home remedies that I can try at home. I would highly recommend to people without insurance or low-income family. Thumbs up! read more

This doctor - if we can call him a doctor- is insane. I went to him just because I got minor burning sensation on my neck which is most likely from shaving. He didn't even looked at it carefully -he is got attitude- and told me he doesn't know exactly what it is and gave me a prescription. The pharmacist in the same building was very doubting about my prescription and told me to stop using it as soon as possible. I just didn't pay much attention about it. Just two days after that I noticed my neck skin is becoming weird, like turtle neck. Yes! my neck became a turtle neck permanently. Yes, I am not a woman and I don't care much about my appearance. I deal with severe acne and unfortunately in the end the dermatologist gave up on me, each time I went he basically just gave me samples and nothing worked. My appointments with him always felt rushed, I spent more time waiting to be called than being in my appointment. I started going to Dr Park in 2007 to treat a painful chest keloid. He was so easy to talk to. He provided a pain-free kenalog shot, something that is extremely rare if you ask anyone who suffers from keloids. Unlike other dermatologists, he uses the thinnest needles possible. He was able to permanently flatten a chest keloid and with that, the daily pain I experienced was significantly reduced. It has been a few years since I've gone, but, I will gladly to return. I always recommend him to people who suffer from these painful scars. read more

Rude receptionist. When my fiancee and I showed up for our appt, she snapped at us for our information like a DMV employee. She then tells us our name was not in the computer, only to find out she mistakenly combined my first name with my girl's last name. We then wait close to an hour in one of the rooms. During that time one of the assistants walked in--not to see us-- but to dangerously pour liquid nitrogen into a styrofoam cup right next to where I was laying (that thing was sizzling). When the doctor finally showed, his response to our complaint was in the effect of: I'm sorry--but you guys are here for a "free" consultation so we don't take your concerns too seriously. He also mentioned that he only gives a "minute" of his time for such consultations. However during the brief examination, the doctor did seem knowledgeable in his field (I'll give him that), and he doesn't try to forcibly sell you his services. If you're looking for a free consultation, don't go to him: they won't treat you as nicely as their "paid" customers. I would not recommend this place. I went here for a consulation about 4 years ago. But I still can't forget about my experience here. He is the MOST arrogant doctor I have ever been in contact with. His arrogant demeanor was a turn off from the gecko and I KNEW I didn't want to see him regularly. He really thinks the world of himself and it SHOWS in the way he talked DOWN to his patient. I used to go to Dr. Agatha Park in Beverly Hills twice a month in college for acne and she was awesome. Down to Earth, honest, and she made a difference in my acne. I wanted to search out a new dermatologist to avoid the drive to Beverly Hills from N Orange County. But this arrogant guy made the drives worth it for me. read more

He's my go to Dermatologist! I'm settled in New York but when make an annual trip back to CA for family, in in out, and his clinic! I've been in different dermatologists and Drs to consult my skin condition. He was the only one to get it on the nose and provides a prescription that actually worked. He's a sensible guy with funny bed side manner. My only advice to you is come 15 mins early and rest easy with his capable staff. read more

I've seen Dr Park a few times for removal of some non-cancerous growth removals on my face ( which came out better than expected btw), and I've found him to be very different from the impression I got from some reviewers' comments. He's not arrogant, but rather extremely busy and productive. If you want a shorter wait time, make an early am appointment. I only waited 10 min this morning for an 8:45 am appt on a SATURDAY. I have waited longer on another day, but it's not because of wasted time like I've seen at other offices, where pharma salespeople stroll in without a wait and then take up valuable time. This guy works 6 days a week out of two offices to make himself available. If you want someone to hold your hand and speculate on endless possibilities, I'd agree that this doctor may not be for you. But if you want frank talk about your options and quick service, then I highly recommend him. I made an appointment to have a mole removed- a very simple procedure. I confirmed over the phone that the doctor could remove the mole on the same day. I show up and the doctor tells me he wants me to go home and think about it. I told him I'm ready to have it removed- that I'd been meaning to take it off for years. It used to come to Dr Park as a teenager for acne and as an adult I came here for a rash I had. Dr Park is straight to the point and prescribed me a cream for my rash that went away in a few days. I like that I was in and out quick. I've been here a few times as an adult and always quick with a diagnosis. And as a teen helped me keep my acne away. read more

From my perspective, Doctor Park is arrogant and self absorbed. Saw him for a persistent, recurring skin condition. From the onset, his tone was condescending and short - said there was nothing - didn't see a thing. Asked him about a small growth. He mentioned that it was probably malignant. Said I should have it excised and referred me to a specialist. The aforementioned took less than two minutes...I was astounded. Paid over $100 for office visit. Within 24 hours, I was able to see another Dermatologist. He took the time to listen, performed an examination, identified/diagnosed the condition and prescribed medication. Within a week, the condition was resolved. Re the small growth, Turns out, it was not malignant - doctor froze it with liquid nitrogen. Condition resolved. I was suffering from severe chronic acne and I was feeling miserable for years. I'd already visited 2 other dermatologists. Less than 5 minute consultations with the doctors had both ended with recommendations for expensive and multiple "beauty packages." These streamlined packages were reviewed by a financial coordinator for 10 minutes longer than the consultations with the doctors. The proposals were as slick as the extravagant reception rooms. A friend of mine recommended trying a consultation with Dr. Park and he was a breathe of fresh air. As for the staff, although constantly busy, the 2 receptionists were friendly and professional. Dr. Park was attentive, listening to my concerns. Dr. Park was not only knowledgeable, he took the time himself to discuss the treatment plan. He didn't sugar coat his recommendations or his thoughts on my condition. And I never felt he was offering a factory assembled treatment regimen. It felt like MY treatment plan. With every follow up appointment, Dr. Park always took his time to re-evaluate and discuss my condition. I'm happy to say that my face looks and feels wonderful! Dr. Park was awesome! Within seconds of meeting, he answered my question and the appointment was essentially over. This was a good thing except I started feeling a little helpless about the consultation fee I had just paid. But just as my brain started going into overdrive trying to think up more questions to ask so I could get the most out of my dollar, Dr. Park saved the day and offered to refund me the full $100 because he felt bad that he had to send me away so quickly. Wow. The last time I went to see a dermatologist, I was super paranoid about a mole being cancerous. The doctor instantly reassured me that it wasn't and that no biopsy was even needed, but told me to set up an appt. for 8 weeks later so she could see how it was doing anyway. I did set up the appt. in the flurry of it all, but after I left the office I quickly realized that there is no effin way I'd pay another $150 just to come in and have her confirm what I already paid her $150 to do that day. She was super nice if that's what matters to you, but I didn't like that I left questioning if she was just trying to squeeze another buck out of me or not. So I took a chance and canceled my appointment, and guess what, I'm still alive. So needless to say, I was really surprised by today's turn of events, and I sincerely appreciate Dr. Park for being such a cool and generous guy. Highly recommend him. At first, I was a bit skeptical to visit this location due to the yelp reviews. However, it was a bit of an emergency so I disregarded what the reviews said and made my way over to Dr. Park's office. I'm so glad that I did. Dr. Park goes above and beyond in terms of care, explanation, and treatment. He does not beat around the bush. He is very straightforward with responses regarding the patient's concerns. Reading some of the other reviews, I don't understand why people would feel offended in any way. He genuinely cares about his patients and makes sure all questions are answered. Not for a moment did I feel like Dr. Park was rushing things. I would highly recommend you give this place a visit! Moreover, the staff members are friendly and more than willing to help you out. They are kind, and have tons of patience, which is always a plus. Moral of the story, don't always trust yelp reviews.
