Since then, my garage door was back-breaking to open, and they told me there was not enough ceiling space to install an automated garage door opener. I got tired of lifting the heavy door, so I called Adam, who responded immediately and diagnosed the problem as a spring that was too small for the 90-pound door and a track that was too close to the wall. For $300, he replaced the spring with the correct size and adjusted the placement of the track. In addition to that, he said he could install an automatic opener using the front wall (not the ceiling) for $575, which he did. And so, after years of putting up with a terrible garage door, Adam has given me a garage door that is easy to open manually and which I can open with a remote. I appreciate Adam's knowledge, skill, and his willingness to explain the problems and solutions.

I ended up changing my own springs out after one side snapped on my 2-car garage door. Garage door…read morewas stopping only a foot off the ground, so decided to call the pros! Called them right when they opened and they were able to squeeze me in for an afternoon visit, surprisingly on the same day! This is their third time coming out to work on our garage doors, one to install a single car door opener, and another time to fix the double. My phone number was in the system so scheduling was simple and I was given a 3 hr window. The technician, Martin, arrived a few minutes ahead of the 3 hr window and got right to work on his ladder. Apparently, I had not wound the springs enough, my drums were not aligned, and my tracks were going crooked, and of course I didn't even torque my set screws enough. He got everything taken care of pretty quickly with lots of turns on the springs, checking for balance and proper operation, straightening tracks, refastening loose tracks to the wall, and lastly lubrication. Finally, he programmed the unit, resetting the top and bottom stops. He even gave me some great pointers and tips of why it didn't work out for me. All in all, the garage is running tip-top, everything was lubed up so it sounding nice and quiet. He even installed a new rope for the manual release! Payment was taken over the phone and I was emailed a receipt promptly. No shock and awe at the cost of service; his expertise and efficiency was worth it! Without hesitation, I will absolutely call Overhead Door again for their fast, knowledgeable, thorough, and valuable service. Thanks again Martin!

While there, I was able to see the actual garage doors and the available accessories. They sent someone out the next day to look at the garage and the gentleman left saying he would email an estimate the next day which he did. The estimate was a bit higher than some of the other garage door companies I contacted but I decided to go with them since they had a store front and I had heard of them in the past. They did a great job of installing on the day as scheduled. ****There was one small hiccup that I'd like to mention. The estimate that they provided was cheaper if you paid with cash, which is great if you have a couple of thousand on hand. I didn't have the cash and I had planned to pay with a credit card, which they assured me in advance of installing the garage door that they do accept at 3% higher than cash payment. The day the garage door was installed. I handed the installer my American Express card only to be told they accept all OTHER credit cards, EXCEPT American Express. I had no other card and would have gone with a different company had I known that they could not accept American Express. It worked out ok in the end, I was able to get the cash from my savings the following day and the owner stopped by the following morning to pick it up. What would have happened if I didn't have the cash and the door had already been installed? They did an EXCELLENT job on taking the old door down and installing a new door. I would have given 4 stars - taking 1 star away for the financial part of the job.
