It can be a traumatic experience for all involved. I'm pleased to report that the professional's at Nathalie's Catering are on top of things and they create delicious food. I attended a party in a swanky MidBeach condo high rise and as soon as I walked through the door, NC's staff asked me what I wanted to drink and got to it immediately. I wasn't prepared to make an order right away so I sort of punted, but by the time I had drink in hand, I had carefully scanned the food offerings and I was off to the races. Everything I tried was delicious. Everything. I don't eat beef and I scarfed down slider after slider. Figuring that my digestive system was going to suffer anyway, I didn't stop with the sliders. The steak and potatoes bites were so intoxicating I contemplated getting back on the beef horse (that's a gross mixed metaphor). The meat was succulent and the potatoes were creamy and indulgent. I switched from turf to surf when I began slurping down spoon after spoon of ceviche. Have you ever had a Hearts of Palm taco? Thanks to NC, I have... and they're amazing. Forgetting that I was the guest of a guest, I became Hurricane Johnny and I took down every savory food option in sight. I had no shame. In fact, as fast as I would take it down, the staff replenished the item. It became a competition and I hate to lose. I lost... but not before I made my last stand with desserts. A wide selection of mousse, macarons and cakes filled by belly and made my blood sugar spike. I can't keep eating like this. I can't. I really can't. But as I tried to play the math about how many desserts I could eat before I did damage to my body, I gave compliment after compliment to the chef and staff. I was so gregarious and engaging... but that probably had everything to do with the bar staff making sure my hand was never free of a beverage (Jack and coke... keep 'em coming... no, seriously...). Because my job so often demands that I carter to the needs of others and make sure that they have a good time, I tend to forget how good it feels to be catered to. It's wonderful. Delightful. Delicious. And, it wasn't just me. All of the guests I observed were either raving about the food or service or both. That says something. Actually, that says a lot. Even in event production, service components can be overlooked, forgotten or flat-out ignored. This won't be the case with Nathalie's Catering. Once breakfast was set up, the coffee was cold and there was not enough food. At lunch, instead of having cutlery neatly rolled in a napkin or placed in cups, it was haphazardly thrown in a platter. There was not nearly enough salad dressing. When I asked the caterer who was there for more she replied, "Well we brought 4 bottles". I did not choose the food for lunch and I did not find it to be very good. There was huge chunks of chicken in a creamy sauce. The chicken was dry and tasteless. There were also big chunks of beef with tons of onions. That dish did not look very appetizing but the beef aaas tender and it tasted better than the chicken. I did not try the ziti or the potatoes. Culinary Affairs had a complete disregard to detail. When a caterer is late that is a poor reflection on me and my business. The quality of food and presentation certainly did not make up for the tardiness. Never again.

Luckily thanks to Eggwhites service I was able to have the appetizers brought to me at the bridal suite onsite but still, if I could go back to have some of those mushroom risotto spoons right now I would. Luckily, I made up for it by indulging in as many mac and cheese bites as I could during late night bites! On top of that, the presentation was absolutely beautiful. The guests raved for weeks afterwards about the quality of the service. The staff at Eggwhites are a team of outstanding professionals and I would trust them to handle any event big or small. Sarah worked me with throughout the process to choose the best menu and deal with big and small changes and I really appreciated that I saw her helping out the wedding planner deal with something that was really important to me during the wedding and completely unrelated to the catering. We also had the pleasure of having Diana come back to our airbnb Sunday for a late brunch, which was so easy and convenient compared to managing two separate vendors!
