Don't trust COMET with expensive clothes!…read more Unfortunately, my experience resulted in damage to an expensive shirt and a very disappointing lack of follow-through. I brought in a $300 Figaret shirt purchased in Paris along with several other shirts for cleaning. All of the other shirts came back normally, but this particular shirt was returned with severe, deep-set puckering and rippling throughout the fabric, especially along the seams, hem, placket, and other constructed areas. These are not normal wrinkles that simply need ironing. The fabric is visibly distorted, as shown in my photos, and the shirt no longer lays smooth as it did before it was cleaned. I have now returned this shirt to the cleaners three separate times and given them multiple opportunities to correct the problem. On my most recent visit, I specifically spoke with a manager/owner, who assured me that he would personally take care of the shirt to make sure the problem was corrected and that my cleaning charge would be refunded. Unfortunately, neither of those things happened. I did not receive the promised refund, and when I picked up the shirt, it was just as badly puckered and distorted as it was the first day I brought it home. After all of the repeated attempts to correct it, the fabric now also feels different to the touch--stiffer and almost heat-damaged compared with how it originally felt. What makes this particularly concerning is that none of the other shirts from the same order developed this problem. This shirt was in excellent condition when I brought it in, and I now have a $300 designer shirt that appears to have been permanently damaged during the cleaning and/or pressing process. I understand that mistakes can happen. What is most disappointing is how the situation was handled afterward. I gave this business three opportunities to make it right, and on the final visit I relied on a owner/manager's personal assurance that he would oversee the correction and issue a refund. The shirt was not corrected, and the refund was not issued. At this point, I do not want the shirt subjected to any further processing, therefore I simply refuse to go back to this cleaners. I believe the appropriate resolution is for the business to take responsibility for the damage and reimburse me for the value of the shirt... but I have a feeling that won't happen just from what I have experienced thus far.

I found the card system they use to be very user friendly with clear instructions. And I've seen many regulars are happy to lend a helping hand if anyone gets confused. I have only ever seen one rolling cart to be used, and the chairs are few so if you come at a busy time, or in a weekend don't expect to find either available. The large washers are $11/cycle and can easily handle two larger loads together so I end up combining towels & rugs with my darks. The large dryers are $2/cycle but they don't dry larger loads with one cycle. I have found its more effective to split my larger loads into two dryers. I have been twice so far and have been pleased with Adamstone Local Laundry - I'll be back!

Warning - Do NOT take your leather goods here!…read more I brought my 100% leather coat (purchased in Italy) to Royal Cleaners to have it cleaned and stored. Before leaving it, I specifically verified with the manager that they were able to properly clean real leather. She confirmed that they could. When I picked it up a week later, the coat was completely ruined -- the leather was faded, there was a hole in the front, and the sleeves were damaged. When I showed the manager, she said she didn't have to inspect it when it returned from the outside company that actually did the cleaning. I requested the name of the company they used and their business insurance information from both the manager and owner. They refused to provide it. Even my attorney attempted to get the information, but the owner still refused to cooperate. I eventually had to take them to small claims court, but the judge wouldn't review all the photos, emails, or attorney letters. The judge stated I should sue the company that cleaned the coat -- even though Royal Cleaners was the one who hired them and took responsibility for the service. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. If you value your leather or designer items, do not take them to this cleaner.

The best reference you can give someone is that it will literally stand up in a corner on its own. I paid and he said it will be ready by 5:00 the next day. I arrived at 5:45 the next day to pick up my work shirt. The shirt was still wet like it was pulled from the washer. There was not an ounce of starch and there were absolutely no creases. I literally went to work with a wrinkled, soaking wet, shirt with out any creases. Lesson learned I will ABSOLUTELY NEVER DO BUISNESS WITH THEM AGAIN.
