This is the worst contractor I ever had to deal with. The contractor was for a patio and stair installation. A 2 to 3 week project was completed after 3 months! There were numerous days no work was performed because of personnel issues and financial issues, not weather. The patio turned out good but not best. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. The team just started digging without any drawings and did not understand basics of sight work such as how to use a string line to lay paving straight. Yet they were offended when any correction by the homeowner was attempted. On-site workers were instructed not to talk to homeowner yet the foreman were off-site and were annoyed if they had to be called to the site to communicate. Even after discussions on corrections with Foreman the onsite people would decide to do something completely different, and wrong. They did not think through the sequence of work resulting in a substandard installation. Did not exhibit basic understanding of sitework materials and methods. They did not provide topsoil for grass and planted it outside the planting season. They did not contain the stone and scattered it all over the grass area. They got different types of stone mix to because their sequence was messed up. However they were good at driving the equipment. I would not recommend for any kind of work besides basic straightforward grass planting or something very simple. They did not use string lines to ensure paving was installed straight and at the right elevation. They put the brick edge restraint in after they had laid the brick instead of before and so it doesn't fit tight and properly restrain the brick. In the process they had to dig out a properly graded soil edge at the brick and didn't put it back correctly. They didn't slope the foundation drain pipe properly so it has a low spot that holds water. I could go on but hate to be negative. read more

We contacted Executive Lawn and Landscape last spring to get a bid on some work we needed in our yard. The scope of work included brush and sapling removal, stump grinding, correcting drainage issues, grading, tree pruning/shaping and mulching. Yes, we needed A LOT of help! Executive came in mid-range and ultimately became our choice. We had to get approval for the proposed work through our HOA, so the work started a few weeks later. Keeping a long story short, this year we are STILL paying to correct the mistakes of Executive. Josh was very hard to get a hold of - always had to leave messages, subcontracted a lot of the work (which isn't always a negative), he held our contact with Virginia Green, but never paid them so they stopped coming out. I contacted Virginia Green and they told me they couldn't help me because I'm not the person on the contract. Josh put in a catch basin by our driveway to help with some of the run off and drainage concerns we had with our yard always being wet...it was too small and popped out of the ground the first rain we had after the installation. He came back out a few days later and put another catch basin in - helped, but still not great. Just today we had another company come out since we are still having drainage issues and our current (and much better) company said the run off corrugated pipe was not pitched right and was filled with mud and debris from the creek flowing back into the pipe. Our yard was torn up for weeks INCLUDING their machinery getting stuck in our yard overnight. It felt like everyday Josh was coming to us explaining that it was going to be more money and this was an issue and going to cost more than he thought. Our yard is still wet, the drains were installed wrong and definitely not deep enough, our yard is still not graded correctly and we still have stumps that they failed to remove. The service we received was so incredibly subpar and the fact that we are still paying to correct the complete HACK JOB that Executive executed on our property is unbelievably frustrating. I feel so robbed by Josh and Executive Lawn and Landscape. I would not recommend this company to anyone and I urge anyone looking for a reputable company to look elsewhere. read more

I hired Executive Lawn and Landscape to install Patio Paving Tiles in the rear of my townhouse in Mechanicsville. Josh did an excellent job of completing the project within schedule, and at a very reasonable price. Neighbors are also in the process of starting projects with Executive Lawn and Landscape.
