I was really impressed by my visit to this Urgent Care center and now I'm glad it's so close! I had managed to hurt my eye, oddly, with skin care lotion with salicylic acid which got into my eyes while I was swimming. It seemed to have injured the cornea since I had a lot of pain and the eye turned red. The pain was just continuing. My eye doctor wasn't available so I just went there hoping for the best. There was a Physician Assistant, Jay Takata, who was wonderful and the staff seemed great. He examined my eyes, concluded there weren't scratches, a big relief, flushed my eye with saline solution, and ordered ocular antiobiotics. Now the main is gone and I'm very relieve I could be seen so quickly and effecctively. No long wait. I hope I don't need urgent care again any time soon but if I do--I'm going there... read more

They understand how to treat a patient and furthermore propel them through the insurance and medical legality of it all. They should lose their license. Doctor failed to provide basic information on what I've come to find out is a simple mallet finger tendon care. And left untreated could result in permanent finger deformity. All she did was look at X Ray and determine there was no break. Yet when I asked about splint and dropped finger tip she said it would come back on its own. Not true! Most basic injury ever and still don't know how to diagnose. Go elsewhere! read more

Last Thursday I went here with stomach pain. I arrived around 730 and was told they had stopped accepting patients due to an 8pm close. I think they use to be open later but If you close at 8 why do you stop seeing patients at 730? Most businesses lock them door when they close not 30 mins prior. They referred me to another urgent care (Peninsula) that was suppose to be open until 11. I arrived there and they had decided to close early. I then remembered UCLA Health had a clinic on prospect which is where I went. My stomach pain turned out to be an appendicitis. read more

My girlfriend came in with flu symptoms that had been persistent for 2 days- fever, vomiting, extreme skeletal pain, extreme muscle pain . She is usually pretty stoic when she feels bad, and was very expressive that something was not right. She came to this urgent care and saw Dr. Mark Naval. He checked her lungs and said "they sound great", they then took her temperature, and she had asked what it was, they responded " you have a temperature". Dr. Naval did not test her for influenza A, B, or Covid test, they did offer, but said it would take TWO DAYS, not even offering any rapid tests, and told her that the best thing to do was give her a CORTIZONE SHOT and some antibiotics?????? When she got home and checked her paperwork, he wrote "upper respiratory infection" and her temperature was 103.3 degrees. He did not advise her to seek further care with a temperature above 103.3 degrees and seemingly thought it not relevant to find out if she indeed had the flu, but instead just throw antibiotics at it, which would do literally nothing. Would never come back here. People need to do better. I know this isn't a hospital, but if you aren't looking to find the root of someone's issue than why even try. EDIT 2 days later: My girlfriends fever turned out to be pneumonia, which they could have sorted out with a chest x ray. With all of her symptoms this should have been one of those things you want to cross off the list. She ended up at the Emergency room at Torrance Memorial and they figured it out in about 15 minutes and got her on the right antibiotics. read more

Great experience with Dr Harris. He is caring, capable, patient - takes time to explain and answer questions. He has treated my husband twice, once on a Sunday and the most recent between Christmas and New Years. So nice to be treated by a doctor, especially during times when most doctors are off. This is also the only facility nearby that has an xray machine, so don't have to go off site to get it done. Saved us trips to the ER! read more

Went there for high fever and aches and pains. Never did bloodwork only swabbed for flu and Covid. Sent me home saying probably viral. Ended up in the hospital for a week with severe sepsis due to urinary infection. UC's are only good for obvious symptoms and easy diagnoses like a broken arm. Also very disappointed that you never see a doctor only an NP. Not good! read more

I went in for lab work to check for an infection, was told that results will come back in 24 hours. I called them everyday for an update . 3 days later and no results. It seems that the lab didnt get the specimen from Exer - and that Exer lost the specimen and never admitted that to me. I would not recommend Exer. read more

I swore I would never go to another Exer again but my husband took my daughter here. The care was fine and the front desk is friendly, but I am sooo sick of their terrible billing department. They had the incorrect billing info and submitted it and it was denied (also had my daughters birthday incorrect) I called them and they had their phones shut off for the holidays a day early and by mistake... when I finally spoke with them they were straightening it out and rebelling insurance correctly yet still charged my card $400 for the denied claim that they were repossessing. They also give you a 1 day notice - 1 day- before charging the entire claim if it's denied or you have a balance. I am all for paying bills timely but a single day notice before charging a significant amount of money is absurd. I went to the Redondo location a few years ago and they incorrectly charged my card for my deductible that had already been paid and it took be over a year to get hundreds of dollars refunded. Until they get a better billing system, this place is a 100% nope for me. read more

We have been to this Exer Urgent Care location twice. Once for an injury about a year ago and this time for athletic clearance screening. Both visits were fantastic. This review is specific to our visit today for high school sports athletic clearance. Exer offers this on a walk-in basis for an out of pocket rate of $75. If you cannot wait to see your Primary Care doctor, it is well worth the cost to get it done quickly and with zero hassle. They provided us with what we needed and we were in and out in about 30 minutes! The facility is clean and in a very convenient location with ample parking. Love that you can check the website and see in real time how many patients are in line. The staff and doctor were all pleasant and kind. I'd come back for urgent care needs as well. read more

I was driving home late one evening when I had a sudden medical emergency that was so bad, I thought I'd die. Due to the late hour (after 8 pm), Icould not visit the urgent care at Torrance Memorial so I decided to give Exer a try. Upon entering the premises, I was prompt greeted by the very professional front desk staff. This Urgent Care operates on a "a la carte menu": you are handed a pricelist detailing the cost of the single medical exams available so you already get a very good idea of what the bill will look like. Mine was a bit higher because my emergency required some extra testing but luckily I was able to walk out the building reassured and in a better condition. The medical staff has very good bedside manners and Lorena was the best- she was able to offer some comfort and keep me calm, not an easy feat! First time here, I wasn't going to say anything but management needs to be aware. Leslie is the front is extremely rude in the way she talks to patients First guy was here with his son who was sick- she tells him she needs a card. He was telling her he's been here multiple times before and never had to put a card on file. That what he has pays for copays and everything. She said well thts policy. Give me a card, Pay cash or you can leave. He said "well then I guess I need to give you a card, I have no choice, my son is sick" And she just said "yup" like a smart *** Now, I work in an industry with the public, so I get it. There are policies often times that cannot be broke. But her response- not what you say but how you say it. Then someone calls and asks if they take medical. She said "we do, but we will audit you -and if we find out that you can pay for it you will lose all of your medical benefits." Then I'm here , paperwork turned in. 2 women come in after me. She calls me up and says "what you wrote down we can't help you because we don't have imaging so yea" (basically telling me to leave) I let her know that I went to ER last night and the wait was 12 hours. They told me to come to urgent care to check my electrolytes and to see if I have an ear infection. She said well I guess they can do that here but if not, he's going to tell you to go back to ER. Is there any other reason why you're here? Like girl you are not a doctor. And I do not feel like explaining all my freaking symptoms in the middle of the damn lobby, what the hell are you thinking. Then she says my systems is down so your insurance will bill you. If your insurance doesn't cover and you don't pay we will take you straight to collections. Like girl, the sh*t you say out loud to patients is crazy. Then she said you get a text you're third in line. I ask her why? I was here first. Everyone before me already went in. She said it's the order I get the paperwork. I said I understand that. I turned my in before they got here, is it because they were existing patients? She said no. I said no seriously I watched you. She is so combative and rude!! It's like she can't be wrong, it's like arguing with with a child. During my visit, she displayed a lack of empathy and understanding, with almost every interaction that didn't go her way. Not only did she undermine medical recommendations, but she also made intimidating statements regarding insurance billing and collections. Overall, there's a clear need for improved service, compassion, and patience in the way patients are treated when they arrive. Management needs to observe and offer some service training. I no longer wanted to stay but I had no other choice. As I was called in the nurse was amazing. Just calm, kind, asked all the right questions. Then the doctor came in and he was great! Exer Urgent Care is conveniently located, but more importantly, their Rolling Hills Estate office opens EARLY SUNDAY morning at 8AM! How often do you need such availability? Rarely, but when you do it is a lifesaver to have it available. Waiting the weekend for a Monday appointment to visit my primary care doctor at my usual medical service facility would have been horrible. Exer Urgent Care provides a much-needed service at the highest level. The Exer Urgent Care staff is very efficient and thorough (especially Alma Depizzo and Jose Guico) and showcases the best level of service I have seen in the industry. I will be using this facility whenever I visit the area and find myself in need of immediate medical services. I recommend them highly. read more

Over the past two years I have had the need to visit Exer Rolling Hills two times for myself and twice for my daughter. Today I went in due to a lacerated lower lip. Dr. Brian Harris is the doctor that has treated me and my family and I was fortunate that he was in today. Arrived at 8pm. Half hour before they claim to take the last patient and an hour before closing. They said they decided not to take any more patients due to being at capacity. No one in the waiting area except the person that came in before me who was also being turned away. I asked to speak with a doctor or some sort director to plead my case, but the female at the front desk said no. I asked if she is refusing to help at all, and she replied yes. Great customer service. Never experienced someone so cold hearted in a medical customer service role. No compassion whatsoever for my 6 year old daughter in pain. At least the male front desk person was trying to be helpful to the other person and was looking up another urgent care. This was actually my second stop. I was coming from the Torrance location that gave me the same story. I tried calling ahead of time but you cannot reach anyone over the phone. What an absolutely frustrating experience. read more

Brought my mother here on a Friday evening. We walked in a little after 6p, seen by the doctor just after 7p and walked out a little after 8p. We had four people ahead of us upon arrival and a fifth taking a COVID test. Also, in my mother's case, we had to have x-rays taken. Medical issue- My mom had fallen about a week prior straight onto her knee and was having a lot of pain when bending it. Everyone was very courteous and hospitable. From the front desk ladies, to the nurse (I wish I had her name because she joked along with my mother's humor), and the doctor (Dr Tavarez) was very kind and gentle. The stand out was the x ray tech (Alex). Handled his part delicately and like a pro...it was clear he had a fantastic mentor(s) who taught him the personability side of handling patients and their companions. I would recommend this facility over and over again. And for reference, we first went to a higher rated urgent care down the street of which we found out didn't have the capability to handle X-rays. Tip- although advertised as being open until 9p and taking the last patient at 8:30p, they were short staffed (as most every business has been post COVID). They ended up closing the doors to additional patients at around 6:30p in order to process those who had already checked in by closing. read more

Brought my daughter in on a Sunday afternoon, and despite the fact that there were quite a few people ahead of us or wait was not super long. I love that they have a notification system so you can leave the office while you are waiting and they will text you when it's time to return. we saw Dr. Harris, who was knowledgeable, kind, and had a lovely bedside manner. This place is so poorly organized. They open at 9:00am and so a naturally forms before they open their doors. We all file in but it's clearly not first come, first serve. I was towards the front of the line and they could even check me in for one hour. That's not seeing a doctor, that's just getting checked in. Have been to RHE multiple times and found the service and doctors to be excellent. Good intake process and relatively short waits (after the first time they have all your data for return trips). Nurses and Doctors are terrific,especially for follow up with your personal doctor or system (Providence LCOM or Cedars TMMC). Absolutely no comparison to going to emergency room and if you need specialized X-rays or CaT scan they have called LCOM for me and I did NOT have to wait there as a new intake & went directly to Radiology. Highly recommend for minor injuries or illness. read more
