Spoke with Louie on the phone about an exhaust I would like installed with possible extensions that need to be made, he said to bring down the parts so he can gage what needs to be done and how it would fit. Brought down parts he stated he could do it, cut current tips from round to oval add extension from muffler to tips, and all the fitment he walked me through and asked my suggestion of how he wanted it to look, spaced, under bumper, closer to bumper, pretty much any question you have he was able to answer it Purchased a Lexus RCF exhaust that was going to be installed on a Lexus GSF. RCF model is a but shorter then the full sedan GSF so extension definitely need to be made Made the appointment showed up around the time they opened. He took off old stock mufflers then started looking at fitment then looked at where the tips are made adjustments walked me through how it would sit and with the tips he showed me how they would look and asked me how did I want it higher, lower, more separated, closer together one farther out then the other, mocked it up showed me, said look at the placement here and here, then grabbed a ladder and made me look down on placement and simply asked is this where you want everything to be Adjusted, fitted, welded, on the right, and he did same exact thing for the left hand side. I just moved to the Bay Area and needed a local shop to diagnose some weird sounds coming from the exhaust system on my 1987 190E 2.3 16 Cosworth. Mr. Louie is great. We showed up on a Saturday to ask what is wrong with our muffler. He told exactly what we had thought without us saying it. Told us it was cheaper for us to get the part ourselves and to give him call when the part came in. Well we did and he saw us the same day we called. Took only an hour and his work is amazing. Showed us the weld before lowering the car. The ONLY ONLY ONLY issue and this will be for everyone is getting in and out of there. He is on a super busy street. We waited for about 10 minutes for traffic to stop. It didn't but another car was waiting to geat in so they stopped traffic for us. It was a super nice low rider, too. He takes his time and lets you monitor and be involved in the installation process - which to any car enthusiast is very important ! He installed my PPE muffler delete on my RC F and did a phenomenal job. Exhaust Specialist is great! Louie installed a Flowmaster 70 Series muffler on my Toyota Tundra. A previous Flowmaster muffler installed at another shop lasted about 10 years before the welds started to fail. The new muffler installation at Exhaust Specialist is far superior. As soon as I arrived, the shop owner* immediately greeted me and asked what i needed. He was very polite and respectful. Super easy to talk to, which is hard to come by now a days. Asked him if he can install some muffler tips for me that i had bought on ebay. He said no problem! I was literally in and out in under 30min! Talk about convenience. It also helped that i came in early before he opened. All in all, The owner is very polite and respectful who runs a very up to date super clean shop. I came to this muffler shop all the way from San Francisco knowing that I had closer options. And I'm GLAD I did! Louie took care of me today on such short notice. He installed a resonator that I brought in myself without any problems! I only say this because I know some muffler shops will not accept self-provided parts such as: mufflers, resonators, or catalytic converters unless you personally buy the parts from them. At Exhaust Specialist, they do not mind installing parts you bring in! My Experience: When I pulled into the muffler shop, I was instantly greeted by Louie himself. He was super friendly and very welcoming! I handed him my resonator and he instructed me to pull my car into their garage. Louie noticed that my car was pretty low to the ground, so he went the extra mile to help me by placing wooden planks under my car for me as I rolled on to the electrical lift. After lifting my car, Louie took a look at my exhaust set up. He took the time to breakdown my possible placement options for my resonator. Basically explaining what would work and what wouldn't work. After deciding on a placement for my resonator, Louie then proceeded to work on my car. In a matter of 25 minutes, my car was already finished! Compared to 4 other muffler shops in my area that ALL told me that it would take about a hour to finish the job. What I appreciate most about Louie is how he insisted that I take a look at his welding job before lowering my car back down on the electrical lift. He wanted to make sure I was happy and satisfied with the work done to my car. I took a quick look at my car and I was more than happy! The quality of the welds on my resonator was amazing! Louie is truly a master at his craft and he clearly enjoys what he does for a living! Louie is also a very honest guy!!! As we walked back into his office for me to make my payment, he asked me what was the price he quoted me when we talked on the phone. He specifically tells me that he wanted to stay true to his word by charging me the price we initially agreed on which is something I respect a lot. I called last week for a catalytic converter replacement quote and was advised to send pics over the phone for accurate quote. Telephone number provided was for a landline therefore no pictures were able to be sent. Decided to visit shop today (Thursday, September 26, 2019) around 12pm, as hours of operation showed it being open. Upon entering shop the person inside the shop said they were closed. Was told to come back tomorrow. Didn't get the name of the person with this info, but he said he shared office space with the muffler shop. Not only does Louie does fantastic work he has great pricing. He first did a muffler delete and replaced the resonator with an X-pipe on my 2013 Mercedes C350 Coupe. He walked me through what he was going to do as far as where he was going to cut. The car sounded great afterwards. Really gave it that throaty growl I was after. Unfortunately, I had to sell that car. I recently just had him complete work on my 2016 Mercedes GLE 350. Initially I went in to have him do a resonator delete, but it didn't give me the sound I was after. He recommended purchasing aftermarket mufflers and doing a replacement. After I received them he got them installed for right away. Louie is great! For both trips he was able to fit me in the same day that I called him. After the muffler replacement my GLE sounded exactly as I wanted. He works efficiently as well. Both trips I was in and out in less then an hour. I'm at a SMOG testing shop confident that my car will pass. FAIL! The catalytic converter, which I had obtained six yrs earlier, and had Louie install then was today not accepted by BAR. Returned to see Louie with an Aftermarket Catalytic Converter Database listing for my car from the SMOG test shop; Louie was able to obtain a converter from the list and before the day was over, he replaced the non acceptable unit. Of course Louie performed a GREAT job and I was good seeing him again but I wish I had this cat. listing six years ago. Beware: SMOG techs today are being asked by CARB to cross reference cat. part numbers with the unit installed regardless if the car passes smog. ONLY in California! read more

Just went there today and had two mufflers installed by Louie for my car and It looks great!!! Louie is really nice and very polite. He did a good job in cutting the pipes and welding. The pipe connection was perfectly bent and welded on at no extra cost for any piping done. I did called several other places and some of them said there maybe some additional charges which I thought was ridiculous. I have upgraded my mufflers a few times before and never was told that. Anyway, for the two mufflers that was installed it cost $160 which was the cheapest price I've found and no other BS chargers. Everyone else was charging between $200-$260 and maybe some additional charges too. I would definitely recommend Louie to anyone that wants to upgrade their mufflers or have one installed. read more

I am not one to write many reviews, but the excellent service I got at Exhaust Specialist by Louie is definitely worth it. My car suddenly started making a loud exhaust noise when I started it in the morning so I called Louie after finding 5-star ratings on Yelp. Over the phone he said he thought the catalytic converter was stolen, and sure enough when the car was towed in and up on the lift, the entire cat was gone! He let me leave the car there for several days while I worked through the insurance claim. I purchased all the parts for the repair and gave it to him and he did the job at a very good price. Highly recommended. PS. My cat was stolen for the second time -- I took it to Louie again with all the necessary parts and the car was back on the road in a day.
