My Experience Buying Through Exotic Car Trader I recently purchased a vehicle through Exotic Car Trader, and while I ultimately ended up with the car I wanted, the overall buying experience left a lot to be desired. Everyone's experience may be different, but this was my first--and likely my last--purchase through their platform. One of my biggest frustrations was the inability to communicate directly with the seller. Exotic Car Trader insists on acting as the middleman throughout nearly the entire process. While I understand the value of facilitating a transaction, it often felt like unnecessary gatekeeping that slowed communication and made it difficult to ask questions or resolve issues efficiently. Another surprise was the $250 non-refundable bid deposit. This is eventually credited toward the purchase price if the deal goes through, but that wasn't clearly disclosed at the beginning of the purchasing process. I would have appreciated greater transparency upfront so there were no surprises. The buying process itself is much more cumbersome than a traditional private-party transaction. I'm accustomed to working directly with the seller to coordinate paperwork, payment, and logistics. Instead, everything had to go through Exotic Car Trader, which added extra steps and delays. In my particular case, both the seller and I were located in California. However, because Exotic Car Trader is headquartered in Florida and processes the transaction through their system, the vehicle paperwork had to be transferred from California to Florida and then back to California before registration could be completed. On Exotic Car Trader.... if you sell a car they charge a lot. If you try buy a car, you may end up like I did, finding out the car they were selling was a total Lemon. I was told I had to have all paperwork signed by the next day or the deal would not go through. I had trouble reading all the paperwork on my cell phone as I was on vacation. After I got home and went through the inspection report, I noticed the car had low, dirty oil, even though the car had only 1700+ miles on it. The "typical" used car salesman lied and said it was a one owner, even though I saw 2 different sales in 2 different states. They also told me the car had been services a few times, but the report only showed the car had been detailed twice, probably to sell it. A seven year old car, only 1700 miles, no service, with low dirty oil? Total red flag! Then I heard a sound bite of the car running and I swear I could hear rods knocking, indicating a bad engine. I cancelled the buy and these crooks made me pay $5,137 dollars for cancelling the buy. The car was a 2020 Corvette and these crooks will sell it a again to some unsuspecting person. The car looks great, but it totally lipstick on a pig. Do your self a favor and buy somewhere else, not from these used car thieves. read more

I tried to buy a Ferrari 360 they had listed on ebay. I made an offer, which they accepted and gave them a $250.00 deposit. They then sent me instructions on how to wire the rest of the money to them. I told them that I would only complete the transaction through ebay, because ebay offers buyer protection and won't release the money to the seller until they determine that everything is legit. The seller told me that the listing that they had on ebay was a CLASSIFIED ad and that would mean that I would send the money directly to the seller, without any buyer protection for me, if something were to go wrong with the transaction. I told them that I didn't feel comfortable doing that and they ABSOLUTELY REFUSED to complete the sale through ebay. Why, I don't know but it seems awfully sketchy to me. Sold a car through ECT. The process of getting everything started and getting connected with an agent and photographer was very smooth. The only reason I am giving 4 out 5 stars is due to communication. When a potential buyer didn't respond in a timely fashion, the ECT sales team tried to get in contact with them. In the meantime- I had no idea of all the efforts actually being made. I would be told there was an offer or question by a potential buyer and once I responded there was nothing. I was left to believe a buyer just dropped off. In reality- ECT was trying to reach them with no response. Sometimes buyers don't respond for many reasons: work, vacation, etc. In the future- when this happens the ECT sales team needs to send the owner a periodic message letting them know they are trying to continuously contact, but the potential buyer has not yet responded. This would let the owner know that the contact is be worked and not leave the impression that ECT is not doing their job. Besides the small communication hiccup - I was very satisfied with my experience with ECT. Our listing agent, in particular was great! If I couldn't get information or get in contact with the sales team, he was right there ready to help! I would highly recommend working with Vin C! I am not one to write reviews, but I felt the experience I had with Exotic Car Trader was, and continues to be extremely stressful and negative, I feel that it would be a disservice to allow others to endure what I have without fair warning. On February 25th, 2022, I sent a check to purchase a car from Exotic Car Trader. I specifically requested the discretion of Exotic Car Trader's customer service of the safest and most professional car transporter. They assured me of this request and noted the inclusion of extra sets of keys and a headliner controller included with the car. The car was delivered on March 10th, 2022, taking over an hour and a half to remove the car from the transportation lift to my driveway - a task that should take no more than 10 minutes. The front bumper of the car was newly cracked, likely during transportation, and upon delivery I was pressured to sign off on the delivery with indication that the item was delivered as promised - of which I reported the bumper's poor condition. Though I have been patient, it is now May 7th, 2022, and I still have yet to receive the extra sets of keys, the headliner controller, and compensation for the bumper. This entire process has been stressful, inconvenient, and shows poor integrity of Exotic Car Trader's quality assurance and their care for their customers.
