Wintu exotic pets to get some shrimp while discovered their shrimp have worms and their tank and their reply to oh, we'll just put betas in there and the betas will eat them all. I inquired about a couple of baby shrimp and asked them what the price would be because they were babies. I mean, they were like, yeah. A little bigger than a speck of sand and I asked the manager is a full price for the baby shrimp. Or you know what's the cost for the babyship? It'd be full price, but it's a baby. Well, we just don't, I just they're fast and I just don't want to catch it. So yeah, it'll be a full price. They're not very friendly. They're kind of rude. I would not recommend going there to buy your shrimp. And these are the as they call fancy shrimp, they are neocardenia, shrimp. And if you're looking to get shrimp, I would go to treasure aquariums on grand or Petco on king for your shrimp, I would not recommend going there. This place is awful. I bought a beautiful little Cavalier King Charles puppy and after purchasing it we took it straight to the vet only to be told what bad shape this poor puppy was in. My puppy had giardia and was below weight. She also had some growth issues. Not to mention that when I first viewed this little puppy, it was right before the store was closing, so the next day right when they opened my fiance returned to the store to buy the puppy for me, only find her in a bird cage, in with the birds!! He was so taken back by this that he had to rescue her! Now, four years later my expensive puppy is full grown and has luxating patella's in both hind legs. The vet says this is because of the breeder not knowing or checking to see if their dogs have any issues prior to breeding. My dog requires surgery or wheelchair now. This is not a reputable place!! DO NOT BUY an animal from this place!!! I would also give this place a ZERO. The staff is unpleasant and Billings needs a new pet store. read more

I agree with the others who said they would give this place a zero star if I could. I wanted to get my little dogs nails trimmed. I called and asked how late they were open. They said 6pm. I told the employee I needed to get my dogs' nails trimmed. The employee stated they only did nails until 5:30pm. I work downtown so after work I went home (The Heights) put the dogs in the car and headed out. I arrive at 5:25pm (thanks to construction). I brought them into the store and the front desk employee asked which one of the dogs did I want done first. My dog only weighs 5lbs, do you think it would take more than a couple minutes to clip his nails? Me neither. The employee switched dogs with me. Again, this dog weighs 8lbs. do you think the dog would take more than 4 mins to cut her nails? Me neither. The employee comes to bring my dog back, AND right behind her is the owner. She was very rude and treated me as if I was a child. I am 67yo. She says loudly - you can't bring them in at 5:30 ever again. I have to get things done before we close. See. She throws her arms out showing me the the store. Then again rudely says if you bring them in at 5:30pm again I will charge you double. She turns and walks away. Well, Ms. Owner you have no right to treat any one of your customers that way. I would bet if I showed up at 5:55pm and wanted to buy a way overpriced dog you would have all the time you needed. My suggestions to you - Clean your store after "Customer hours." If you can't help your customers during "Customer hours" change your hours. Remember your customers are who keep your business open. I too am never going to support this store. If you are looking for a purebred dog go on to AKC.org, for breeders. They are reputable and accountable for how they treat and breed their dogs. They do not come from a puppy mill. If you want a mixed breed visit the dog parks and talk to the owners of the breed you are looking for. They can refer you to a good breeder. You may even find out they are less expensive. Don't forget about the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, 1735 Monad Rd, (406) 294-7387. Lots of sweet dogs and cats waiting for homes. We want to like this store, the employees are friendly, everything seems fairly clean and cared for, prices are maybe a touch high, but we just can't get behind them. While there is no law against selling certain things, it's disheartening to see balloon mollies (a fish bred to have scoliosis), as well as dyed tetras, a process that's extremely cruel and entirely unnecessary. Outrageously overpriced puppies, housed in troughs, don't help the moral image either. If you absolutely NEED something, and there's nowhere else to purchase the item locally, this is a fine place. However, if cruelty matters to you more than a specific purchase, go elsewhere. read more

I'd give this place zero stars if I could based on the employees alone, but the treatment of animals is far more egregious. The last time I came in there was a kitten caged with open wounds on the rear end with other kittens, and the most recent time we were treated with rude, condensing comments from staff over asking about the animals along with seeing that the animals are still kept in poor conditions. The ferrets cage was filthy with clear neglect to clean the litter with days of feces scattered about. If you care about animals I'd recommend almost anywhere else to avoid giving these people your money. read more

Rude people Went to look at the French bull dogs for sale , drove over 3 hrs to get here and the staff dd not seem interested at all in helping us with our questions When we wanted to hold one of the puppies the staff started becoming condescending and rude to my wife and I . She said if your really serious about buying one I will let you hold it. I said Im here aren't I. She said well we don't let people hold them unless they are really going to buy them because they have not had their shots yet . These puppies are 4 months old by the way. She said the price was 3050.00 USD. I said that is more than what I expected but we would like to hold one . Her speech and body language were very offensive . I told her that just because we hold one doesn't mean I'm going to buy it. I asked my wife if she still wanted to hold one. My wife and I said we would look else where . The staff there need to get out of the customer service / sales business they lost a sale . The pups were cute I would have spent the money but I refuse to pay anything to a business that does not respect people and can not treat them with common curtesy Then puppies we were told-came from Greatfalls Mt. I got my $800 (not even sure if she's purebred at this point.) papillon at exotic pets. I called and asked if they could hold her for three days, and they said they couldn't. I did end up getting my puppy, and they were very nice about 'holding' her. They can't out-right hold animals, but an associate told me she told interested customers that this pup is spoken for; which I appreciated. The only issue we've had with them is paperwork. I never received my dog's paperwork: when I first bought her, and when I told them I didn't receive it they sent it by mail. I still didn't get the papers then. After 5 months, I have JUST TODAY received my papers. That I never got, and I had to pay a fee for the papers. I love my dog, but I will not be dealing with this store anymore. I give them 2 stars because years ago they used to be a really good store. Not so much now. Last time I was in there (a couple years ago) I was checking out a breed of dog I'm a huge fan of. The sales clerk had puppies loose in the puppy room with a full bucket of floor cleaner, the wall had been chewed thru to the grooming room and the girl never did greet me. I had also went in when my bil had a couple puppies there to visit the one I was pretty fond of and they gave me grief about sitting and cuddling with him. After I had been there for well over 15min, they just noticed somebody in the puppy room! Steer clear of this business, if you want a puppy. Find a breeder, a reputable breeder. read more

If I could give them Zero stars, I would. This is the most unprofessional pet store I have ever been in. They employees are rude and completely out of line. My daughter bought a dog ($800), supposedly a purebred. The dog is missing some tell-tale signs so I have my concerns. We waited for 6 weeks to get the paperwork to register the dog. The store had our address and phone number. We had not moved. We went in and told them we need the paperwork and they charged her extra for the paperwork! I have purchased and bred purebred dogs. I have never pain. Or charged for the paperwork. SHAME ON THEM. Will never purchase anything there again. read more

We picked up a beautiful tan & white 5.6# female chihuahua summer of 2019. Took her to the vet for a check (which the store encourages); she's an A+ dog. She's 100% litter box trained (chi's are gr8 that way). The public interaction "Roo" received has been absolutely positive to her being socialized. Roo has a bunch of toys & entertains us with her play. Also, Roo has a tent bed that she sleeps in with her favorite dinosaur toy, we call it her "teddy". Would definitely shop here again for another fur baby. read more

I come here to get feeder mice on occasion when I don't want to make the drive to the heights pet center and I always regret it. Their feeders are always scabby with sores and very skinny. Sometime so much so that I keep them for a few days to make sure they aren't sick. They heal and fatten up with proper care which tells me who ever is in charge of feeders needs to do a better job. Their other animals seem happy and healthy and their prices are good, just the feeders seem to have a hard time. read more

I live exotic pets, however, I find it to be a lot more expensive than other pets stores. A single hedgehog is 300$ when usually they are around 175$ to 250$ which I think is crazy expensive, especially when you get to the hogs, in which most of them don't even have all their shots. Overall, besides that, I love the store and go there often. read more

Came into the store today around closing time and had a couple questions about our flowerhorn and the associate who helped us was amazing. She was very helpful and even helped us pick a buddy for our tank. This store has always been very pleasant when we have questions or looking for a new pet.
