Terry was amazing! She squeezed me into her schedule and was very conscientious of my time. She did an amazing job with my hair and colour. I told her I wanted colour that was low maintenance and she blended the balayage perfectly with my roots for an easier upkeep. Sam was also very helpful in finding the right colour from the pics I showed them. The cut was exactly what I requested and Terry really listened to what I wanted. Great team! Terry and Katie are wonderful and very committed to satisfying the clients. I had a hair-disaster emergency where my tape in hair extensions tangled and it was horrible!! Katie took the mission and was very careful not to make me lose my hair, which is in this case, very probable. I had also to work on some emails so they dimmed the music for me. I also was tight on time, so she asked her colleague to help me. I had to come for another session as the knot was very big and I did not have enough time. Katie and Terry and their colleague all work together on my knot the second time and adapted their schedule. They also did not bill me for the whole time, as it took around 4 hours and the cost was very expensive. In summary, I felt at home despite the fact that I come from a different country and I liked their professionalism and their vibes! Will definitely go there again. read more

I came in hopeful, especially because I saw on the website that they use Affinage, a high quality line of hair color. I feel really bad writing this review because Teri seems nice but based on my results, which were sloppy and expensive, I can't recommend this place for color. Maybe they're better for haircuts? I had a single-process color with Teri and was worried when she didn't want to shampoo my hair before applying color. I told her I had some product in my hair but she assured me the color would penetrate through. Still, wouldn't she want to see my clean roots before mixing the color? Anyway, she applied the color and afterwards saw there was lots of grey showing. So she applied a sparing amount more and had me sit under the dryer again. When I left I wish I'd looked more closely but I was there three hours at least and I was in a bit of a hurry. I was also a bit shocked to find that my bill came out to well over $110 before tip. The next morning it was obvious you could see my grey roots shining through everywhere and the color looked reddish (it was supposed to be a dark ash brown). I had to leave town to go to a wedding so there was no fixing it. When I met up with my boyfriend at the airport he noticed my 'burgundy' hair immediately and not in a good way. I had to spray temporary root color on to cover up all the grey even though it had just been colored! When I returned I decided not to risk returning to Expectations to fix the color because I was so worried it might get further botched. I have since had much better luck at Belleza. read more

My stylist in Concord NH was out of business so in desperation I started the search for one in Lebanon, after going to 1 salon up here and being hacked I was very nervous. I saw the name and logo and called I spoke to Brittany and explained that I was very particular about my hair and how it s cut and styled, that I d been to a few stylists up in this area and ended up disappointed. She was very pleasant, said she just knew that the owner (Teri) of this salon would be a good choice for me. I made the appointment and realized that yes, Teri would be perfect for me, she is pleasant, understood exactly what I wanted but explained to me that since my hair had been recently hacked it would take a few cuts to get it on track. As she cut my hair she pointed out the areas that were uneven and explained how she had to "repair" the damage. She assured me that she welcomes picky customers and does not feel threatened by them, "you know what you want" it s your hair. (After my first cut she called me a couple of days later to see how I liked it, I said well, it was good but one side was "off" she said no problem, we ll work on that.) Teri is an artist who will work with you to achieve your desired look (even if you re not explaining so anyone understands) She is patient, calm and very picky herself going over the cut before you leave and then following up with a phone call a couple of days later. I have been there three times and each time my hair is looking better and better, today was the best as it s taken time to get it back on track. In my opinion, Teri is exactly what I need. She is precise, and will Listen to you, she is honest in saying it may take a bit of time before it looks exactly like you want, but you know what!! It works and I am one happy customer!! read more

I really really really wanted to like this salon. The ladies are friendly and they have (had?) a great $30 mani/pedi special. But, unfortunately.... I left with a manicure that was bubbly, as in there were little bubble pockets in an uneven polish job. In addition, my eyebrow wax job was uneven and shaped in a way that I've never seen before. It was rather unattractive. So, alas, that was the last time I ever went to this salon and will be going down to Boston for mani/pedis in the future. read more

Teri has been my hair stylist for almost 5 years. People walk up to me in stores and on the street complimenting my hair and I've given her multiple referrals. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because she is sometimes inconsistent despite doing my cut multiple times and she is quite expensive. Today was my first time to Expectations Salon and Spa. I have had massages and facials other places but was looking for something not as pricey as where I have been going and just as relaxing. I wasn't disappointed and have already made a second appointment. Everyone was really nice and the facial was so relaxing as was the hand and foot massage! I have paid in the past almost $200 for the same type of service and the same amount of time and paid 1/2 that today. Well worth it! read more

I have to give one star because when I took my sister there on her 21st birthday to get her hair done it was disastrous! She is a natural red head and has always done highlights so her ends were blonder than the rest, so we asked them to put some red back in to break up the blonde. We asked for some red low lights... her hair turned bright pink. The stylist and the owner then said how great it looked and that she was young enough to pull it off... my sister hated it. I am a stylist myself. And I should have just done her hair but I was trying to treat us as it was her 21st and we were going out after... they offered us some wine after they denied my sister wine because her ID Was not updated which was fine. But then after they messed up her hair gave her some wine. Did not offer to fix it. Tried to persuade her into believing it looked good. Which it did not!!!. We will NEVER go back there!!! Back in the area for a month, I was just looking for a salon to visit when I was reminded about my experience at Expectations last spring. The pros for this place are the girls who work there are very sweet and want to please their customers. The one who cut my hair did a very nice job. The drawback for this place is the older woman who talks to the other stylists like they're second class citizens. She really thinks she's something. She really demeaned the girl who was cutting my hair by correcting her right in front of me. Shame on you!!!! Seems like if she was so hell bent on correcting her, the proper way would have been to excuse herself, and ask the stylist if she could see her for just a minute. She could have used any excuse to steal her away for a minute!! I just don't go back to places where employees are treated poorly:-( read more

I agree with another reviewer - I really really wanted to like this salon, but it just didn't fit the bill. There were six of us to get a mani or a pedi and they only had two girls working. The girls were really nice, but we were in there for almost three hours by the time everyone was done. My nails are just starting to chip (a week later), but my mother's nails chipped the next day - she got a French manicure and it was done by the owner. All in all, it was an OK experience. It just took a LONG time because they seemed to be short staffed and some of us were not satisfied with our services. Lastly, it seems like this salon is able to do nails, but is more set up for hair. read more

My future mom in law and I made appts to have pedicures done prior to a family wedding. When we arrived, we were greeted by a newly hired employee (in fact, it was her first day and she had just graduated school 3 days earlier). She was kind and pleasant, but our pedicures were terrible. One of my toes was partially painted. My nails were not trimmed and the old polish in the corners of my toes wasn't taken off. My mother in law's polish job looks like a 9 year old did it. We felt bad because it was her first day and she was juggling many tasks while trying to do our pedicures....answer phones, help other clients, and warm up wax supplies. In the end, we were out 90$ for something that I would've just done myself or had my niece do for free. I wouldn't go back. I look forward to a relaxing pedicure and nicely done nails. I hope that she has some help in the future (someone else to answer the phones so she can do the pedicures would be helpful). I felt bad that her boss set her up to run the salon alone on her first day. Now to remove my hours old polish and trim my nails :/ read more
