I love that it's located right in the city, yet you feel so far away. I also really appreciate the membership options they offer. I typically get the single membership, which is well worth it when you consider how many times you can visit and the member-only events they host. This time around, though, I decided to rejoin with an upgrade to the Family Membership ($135 for the year, which covers two adults and children). It comes with four free guest passes, discounts at the gift shop, and options for parking garage passes. They also host member only events, and for the month of September, members get a discount at the garden cafe and restaurant. In addition to seeing all the gorgeous flowers and trees, there is always something going on throughout the year. They host events featuring work by various artists and sculptors throughout the garden, a scarecrow event in the fall, the holiday lights in the winter, and an orchid exhibit in the spring. Another great perk is that your membership gets you discounts at other botanical gardens across the United States. The show was full of dancers and acrobatic acts; no animals and only three dancing clowns that did not perform in the ring so that the ppl who paid for prime seating (row three) could have e a perfect view without having to get a crook in their neck by turning to locate the clowns. The show also has not changed over the years; the same acts, performances, acts with fake ppl supposedly blindly selected from the audience, the dance contest where everyone wins etc... I was highly disappointed and ready to leave during intermission; only stayed for my grandson. Extremely disappointed; I'll never attend again but I wish the participants well. I must say that some of the acts were jaw dropping!

They indicated that "once my order was processed" they would send me the tickets - at least 4 days in advance of the event. Today, one day before the event, I called them to see where my tickets were and they kept me on hold for 15 minutes and then told me that they made a mistake and didn't actually have tickets for me. They claim they are refunding the purchase price, but I have not yet seen this refund. Do not use them. Also, they have a grade of "F" on the BBB site in Connecticut. (Which I only found out while googling while I was on hold and had a sinking feeling in my gut about this whole scam.)

I finally made my first visit to the Starlight Drive-In Movie Theater! Well... technically, I still…read morehaven't seen a movie there. I accidentally discovered the weekend flea market! I was leaving Stone Mountain early in the morning when my navigation took me a completely different way, and somehow I ended up at the Starlight. I knew they had a flea market on the weekends, so I decided to stop and check it out. I'm so glad I did! Admission for buyers was 50 cents. I arrived early, vendors were still setting up, but there were already plenty of people selling their goods, and more vendors were arriving. And when I tell you they had EVERYTHING... they had everything! Clothes, shoes, food, detergent, electronics, car accessories, lawn equipment, school supplies, baby items--you name it! I only stayed about 30 minutes, but I had a great time browsing. You could tell some vendors regularly come out to sell their merchandise, while others were simply clearing out things they no longer needed. Either way, there were plenty of treasures to find. I'll definitely be back! I'm looking forward to spending more time browsing, supporting the vendors, and, of course, eventually coming back to actually a movie!
