The motto at CRC is "where friends become family" and this is certainly true. The weekend guests are treated as extended family members. The onsite dance club, Solitude, is a feature that no other campground in the area can bost. Solitude serves as a video lounge on Friday evenings and a regular high-energy dance club on Saturday evenings with a live DJ and the latest in sound and lighting systems featuring more than 40,000 sq. inches of high definition video throughout the 2500 sq. ft. club. The pool is sparkling and well maintained with a large sun deck. On select weekends, contests and dances are held around the pool. For members with pets, a new dog park was opened in 2021. The park has been upgrading their electrical system to better support the increasing crowds that are coming to visit. Depending on your needs, the camp offers spaces with 30 amp and 50 amp service. Just let the Welcome Center staff know if what you need when making reservations. The campground is frequently sold out so advance reservations are highly recommended. The camp opens reservations on January 1 each year for the upcoming season which opens in late-April and run through mid-October. CRC is an all male campground and that includes transmen. CRC provides a very welcoming atmosphere to all members. I've been going to CRC since it opened and recommend it to those who are looking for a great facility and enjoyable time.

Those folks pretty much stated themselves and I did not see many single people there. I tried to spark a few conversations. They were not rude, but they were very short. I walked around and saw groups of people at campsites make comments so what a nice site they had and they just said thanks they did not invite me over to the group. In other campgrounds I found when you walk around like that those that have units there always welcome visitors and I did not have that feeling this time. There's a woods there that a lot of the couples go out and mess around, but it did not find the group to be very friendly when it came to that either. I would say the majority of the group is 50 to 70 years Old and I would say I was in the middle of the pack far as weight and body shape. there were many guys very large. As far as young people there are only three or four guys maybe in their 25 or 30 year-old range. I did run into friends I knew from Detroit they were with a group I chatted with a group and was thinking I would get an invite to do dinner with him, but I did not. I even nudged it a little bit and said what are you guys doing for dinner tonight? They said oh we're all doing a cookout, I said oh that sounds like fun. They didn't ask what I was doing or invite me which I thought was rather rude. I actually only spent one night there and left early. I just didn't feel welcome.

Our grandsons let everyone in earshot know when they caught a fish, they were so thrilled! We enjoyed the large open grassy hill and tree shaded hiking trails. Our campsite backed up to the pond and the view was so pleasant, making our camping experience truly memorable. We have camped at Hideaway for 6 years and highly recommend.

The owners live on site and are happy to help with anything you may need. Some highway noise can be heard from I-94, but it not disturbing due to natural fencing and water features in the fishing pond and swimming area.

Need to bring your own linens pillows blankets. Fishing was easy and kids kept catching tons of fishes. Great place for kids and adults. Not noisy.
