I took my MacBook Pro to have the board repaired/replaced. After two months waiting, I was told they did not have the parts to complete the job. I received my computer back with scratches on the shell and finger prints all over the screen. No repairs and in worse condition than when I left it. They charged me a $99 dollar fee (reduced to $89 because I am a vet) and now I will need to find a service that may be able to actually do the repairs. read more

Embarrassingly enough, I accidentally spilled beer on my brand new MacBook Pro. When the keyboard, charger, then my whole computer stopped working I panicked. I had googled the cost of water damage repair, and figured with how expensive it was, I might as well buy a new laptop. However, I had heard great things about Experimac, so I took it in for an estimate. Dustin was very helpful in checking me in and explaining the process. While my computer was getting repaired, Paco called me and gave me detailed updates. He explained things so I knew exactly what was going on and how much it would cost. For someone who isn't a technology expert, this was very appreciated. It is not only the quality of job a business does, but how they treat their customers that speaks volumes. I hate leaving bad reviews so much but I was so disappointed in this service. I drove far out of my way because of the good reviews on here but it was a nightmare. I dropped off my MacBook on a Thursday early afternoon, and he said he would get back to me that day. Gave it some time Friday still didn't hear so I gave a call. It was obvious they hadn't looked at it yet, and said they would call back. They called back and said it would need to be shipped off to be repaired, said they couldn't tell me the price or the repair needed because they didn't know. Said it would take 7 days, okay fine. 12 days later... I still hadn't heard anything from Experimac. If it's taking longer, that's fine, just let me know. But they didn't communicate. I finally called (I was giving them some extra time) and their answers were contradicting and shady, ultimately told me 2 more days. 2 more days no call, I call them asking if it's ready. He says oh yeah it's ready. I was thinking after I've been so patient, why didn't you notify me? He says it's $75, I'm thinking well at least it's affordable. I go to pick up and he tells me $195. I laughed and we quickly got that sorted. I don't know if they discounted me but they didn't tell me. It just seemed extremely shady. So the two stars are for the friendly demeanor of the young twenty something guy that works in the front, and my computer is working again for now (we'll see the longevity of repair). Friendly guys but customer service and communication, awful. I would never get something repaired here again. read more

Not impressed. I walked in to purchase a keyboard. The "stock" was stuffed in a cabinet, and while I specified I knew I would be purchasing a refurb (the product I wanted is no longer sold new, and their website said they had them, reconditioned), this was one of their own used floor keyboards, not refurbished, dirty, worn, and not functional. Service was lackadaisical and ill-informed, and seemed happy to pass off a non-refurbed item as working. I'm glad I tested it in store. In short, I wouldn't trust them with my business, or any of my Apple products. read more

Tim was extremely helpful! It's hard to someone who knows what they are doing and will accommodate to the situation. Essentially the Apple store said there's no hope for my MacBook Pro unless you want to pay $500 to completely fix it. I saw some good reviews on this store and drove all the way out to exit 14 on 400 to find some hope. Tim has not only fixed my MacBook Pro completely but done it at less than half the price Apple quoted me. Definitely happy the service and knowledge Tim has. read more

Experimac ruined my iPad. Took it there to have my cracked screen replaced and now my home button does not work. When I took it back to them they said they replaced the home button and it must not be lined up good but if I just keep pressing it it will eventually work. It takes me several minutes to get it to work and at times I just put it down because it won't work. They made no offer to correct their work and now I have a 2 year old iPad that is basically no good to me!! I will NEVER use them again and NEVER recommend them to anyone!! read more

Shattered my screen again but this time came here! Not only did they replace my screen but now my home button is working again and my touch ID is working. Batteries plus was a rip off and not only that theysaid my home button would not work with touch ID anymore after replacing the original screen. Can't give enough stars here. After my IMac got hit by lightning a few weeks ago I was agonizing what to do. Everyone I spoke to in different Mac repair and service companies had the same story. Its a 2006 24inch IMac and I'd be better off just buying a new one. As anyone who loves their mac can attest, that answer was tough. That little machine got me through my Master's and beyond. No one even wanted to touch it, heirloom they said. Enter into my life Travis, Becky and Chase from Experimac. Not only did they understand, they gave me options. Including repair!! In the end they showed me cost to benefit for upgrading to a newer Mac with them, but I have to say at least now I feel that I was truly given amazing service and am proud of my choice. The Owners Travis (over the phone) and Becky (in person) took their time to talk to me, told me more about their new company there in Cumming and made me feel like I had finally found a place that truly cared about their service to customers and the computer line itself. Chase took care of all of my many questions and was more than happy to fix it if I wanted but when I understood the issues more thoroughly was happy to discuss with me my needs in a computer and direct me to a new IMac friend that will carry me, I'm sure, for many years to come. These guys are full service, they can repair and upgrade your Mac (even if others tell you they won't) and have the inventory of refurbished units that can help you get over sticker shock of a needed replacement. The personal touch may not be for everyone, but it is a refreshing change to come to a locally owned store and feel the friendly vibe. If you have a Mac problem check them out, I also saw quite a few IPads in there as well, (Travis said they can repair even iPhone and iPad screens) so I know where I'm heading when I'm ready for that purchase. I really hate to leave bad reviews but my previous experience here was awful. I have been a loyal customer to this experimax since they opened. Every time they have fixed my devices with no problem, but this time they really messed up. I had cracked my screen and brought my phone here to be repaired, they had it done in 30 minutes. After getting my phone back, the camera no longer worked, front and back. I let them know what was wrong and they basically said they could send my phone out to a repair place for 2 WEEKS!! I'm a teenage girl, no way i'm going phoneless for 2 weeks. I brought my phone to apple to run a diagnostics test, my front and back cameras were blown, and my top and bottom mic/speaker also no longer worked. I proceeded to bring my phone back to experimax and showed them what they did. I asked for a refund, they said they couldn't do it. I then asked when the manager/owner would be in, they gave me a time and a day. I went in during that time and day and the manager wasn't there. He was supposed to call me, never did. Eventually a refund was processed but still, the manager never reached out, all I got was a teenage boy apologizing to me for breaking my phone. This place has always been so great. I don't know what happened. I definitely won't be returning. read more

What a great experience I had at experimac in Cumming! The previous day I had waited nearly 2 hours at the Apple Store in Northpoint Mall to have my LED Cinema Display repaired. I wound up having to leave the mall with my display because I couldn't wait any longer. The experimac experience was infinitely better. For one, they actually fixed my display for a very reasonable cost. And two, the drop off and pickup process was absolutely painless. Kiss the Genius Bar Goodbye Cummingites! There's a new kinda Apple Store in town. ---Needing my warhorse 2010 Macbook Pro repaired, the technicians were clearly out to protect my best interests and warned that the repair was not worth the age and condition. Impressed me so much I bought a 27" iMac the same day, they even gave me a credit on for parting my dead Mac! After a couple of weeks, I noticed that my heavy Adobe usage was bogging down the "new" Mac! Sheepishly, told Travis, who owns and runs the place, my embarrassing predicament. Not really sure what they could do, but desperate. Shocked, without hesitation they recommended a better processor and let me trade the one I had been using with just a nominal upgrade fee, swapped my hard drive and memory too! Today it is hard to find a company that puts customer service first. Well, I just found one - and they found a life long loyal customer. Fabulous! Excellent service, knowledgeable and friendly folks. Was running out of space on my desktop hard drive. I ended up getting a 3 TB hard drive AND an extra 4 GB of memory for less than other places were quoting me for a 1 TB drive. Plus they asked me if I wanted them to upgrade my operating system and did it for me at no cost. Owner Travis and tech guys Chase and Tim were all incredibly helpful.
