We have been with Expert Aupair for 9 years, and we are still happy. We had wonderful aupairs, and still in contact with some of them. I can't say the matching process is easy, it's not easy!! Matching process is a common decision of the host family and the future aupair! You need to take into account your life style, diet, activities and make sure they work for both parties! Lately after our aupair came back to her country after only 6 months with us (she was home sick), we welcomed an aupair in rematch. And We are very happy with this new aupair! She plays with our daughter all the time, always laughing. You need to see your aupair as a big sister/brother, part of the family. Not an employee! I've heard from some aupais that some families can easily take advantage of the situation. I like Expert Aupair, they always helped us along the process (especially during the rematch) , our local representative is also an amazing support! It's a small agency but I think it's better because they know the families and the aupairs. I will continue to stay with Expert Aupair and recommend this agency! read more

Avoid this agency at all costs. We're a new family with a 21 month old. Our life is pretty hectic with a toddler in our home. We got an AuPair outside of Expert AuPair's network and they accepted and vetted her. Unfortunately it didn't work out with her. As in she refused to work. Instead of Expert AuPair helping us, they told us that we had to keep her at least a month and keep paying her. In the contract they had us sign, she committed "Gross negligence" because she refused to work. We showed them proof through WhatsApp messages and them talking to her but they still pushed us to keep her and keep paying her. Then they asked us for feedback about the AuPair and they shared everything with her! I mean everything as if instigating. She started arguments and made the house hostile. Mark (CEO of Expert AuPair) then scolded us for calling him in the middle of the night, even though that's what the "03.2021.Grievance Procedure & Contact Info.pdf" they give us, says to do in case of emergency. We were forced to ask for the last option of relinquishing our money for them to come grab her as soon as possible. Expert AuPair now has a year's worth of our money plus a free AuPair they can offload to another family. Rinse and repeat. Mark even threatened to sue us if we posted anything online. HOST FAMILIES BEWARE!!!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. If you are a host family avoid this agency at all cost. Don't make the mistake I did by not listening to the negative reviews. I am learning the hard way. They treat their host families with disrespect, they lack compassion, and they discredit any concerns Host families have about their Au Pair. Even though Au Pairs sign an employment contract it means nothing. They allow Au Pairs to rematch for arbitrary reasons and still place them in the home of an unsuspecting family who will be that Au Pair's next victim. The owner Mark was extremely rude to me on the phone. It was as if I was speaking to a brick wall. I expressed to him my apprehension with moving forward with a rematch given that my prior Au Pair left after 6 months leaving me pregnant with a toddler without childcare. I did not want to move forward with another Au Pair until the agency could guarantee that if this Au Pair like the last one left arbitrarily then we would get another opportunity to match with an Au Pair. After all we would have to invest an additional $4,200 on top of the $4,200 credit we had. Mark refused to listen to reason and instead asked me if the issue is "if I didn't value the current Au Pair that I was going to match with or was my family having money problems." I could not believe my ears. He then said that our prior Au Pair who left because she was perk shopping and didn't like my husband's "vibe" was not the "villain" and that he could not trust us as a host family because we did not want to move forward with the current match; keep in mind that he would not allow us to rematch if this new Au Pair left arbitrarily like the first one. Now we as a host family are out of $4,200 because of an Au Pair who did not value us as a family nor did she honor her employment contract. If you are going to do the Au Pair program please go with any other agency. Every other agency is better then them! The other agencies value host families, they try to mediate issues between host families and Au Pairs, they are not afraid to kick Au pairs out the program who signed up for the wrong reasons, and most importantly, they allow host families to rematch more than once to ensure that host families find the right fit for their family and are not left losing a few thousands dollars with no childcare. To my fellow host family good luck with your search and avoid EXPERT AUPAIR unless you are willing to throw $8,400 down the drain! read more

I have nothing but regret. I chose EAP because they were 2,000 less than other agencies. Problem is I had two bad Au Pairs in a row and their policy is "two and done" meaning that you pay $8,000 for the AP and get one replacement and if that doesn't work you forfeit the entire amount (Cultural Care Au Pair keeps providing replacements). The pool of AP's is very small (like I had 20 people to choose from), the EAP staff is only 7 people (vs. hundreds on Cultural care au pair), the English standards are much higher with other agencies and poor with EAP; my two AP's barely spoke English. Our LCC local coordinator couldn't answer any questions. I was so sorry I used EAP. I have a long list of complaints but I'll stop here. Go with Cultural care au pair. It's been several months since I made a comment and the so called CEO of Expert Au-pair, Mark is still responding to my post. This behavior encapsulates Expert Au-pair, an agency solely concerned with turning out as many Au-pairs as possible in order to reach the bottom line and when things happen 100% of the blame goes to the host family. Mark and this morally devoid agency just want to protect their cash cows, the Au-pairs and gives them unlimited ability to re-match and only two opportunities to the host families no matter the reason the Au-pair wishes to re-match. There are several negative comments here not just mine and even the comments that are not negative have dealt with issues with the Au-pairs they matched with or the agency. No accountability at all for anything should be the slogan for this horrendous agency. Someone who leads a reputable company would not behave in the manner that Mark does, hence, why Expert Au-pair is NOT a reputable company. If I receive another response from you know who it's because he has nothing better to do than argue with people who have expressed their opinions about his company instead of utilizing these comments as opportunities to improve his company he rather argue and blame someone else like a petulant child. read more

There are many au pair agencies out there - Expert Au Pair is an oxymoron - because they are not expert at all. They don't appear to do their due diligence in appropriately screening their au pair candidates in English conversational knowledge. We knew there would be some language barriers - that's a part of the cultural exchange program and the au pair's experience. However - They matched us with somebody who couldn't speak a lick of conversational English. We were not able to communicate with our au pair without the use of a translating app - even for the basic things - and our 4 year old couldn't communicate with her at all. We had a video interview with the au pair before offering her the match and there was a bit of a lag in her response time - we thought it was internet connection. No - it was her essentially using something to translate what we were saying so she could respond. We were willing to try and work things out - but the au pair requested a rematch and they said "ok." There were no efforts by the agency to step in to mediate. We matched with somebody a few weeks later and the contract was signed and all was set to go - then POOF. The au pair changed her mind and they said "ok." There was no efforts, once again, from Expert Au Pair to step in. The signed contract was MEANINGLESS and WORTHLESS. This left us in a serious lurch. They sent us profiles and we we offered several candidates and all declined because they matched with other families. This is not a problem in itself - but the biggest issue we had is we couldn't search their database of available au pairs. They sent us a handful of people and we only had that selection of people to contact - and that's it. Many of their au pairs never even responded to our emails which also added to the time and frustration of this whole experience. We wound up researching other agencies and the amount of work that goes into interviewing and in screening their au pairs is SO much more in depth than what expert does. They also offer so much more support to their host families than Expert does as far as making efforts to mediate in times of issues. We are so much happier and so much more impressed with our new agency and we wish we didn't waste our time like we did with Expert Au Pair. Stay very clear of Expert Au pair. They don't have their host families backs. read more

STAY AWAY. This agency is a RIP-OFF. Very unethical practices. Not service-oriented. They will not give you any support if you get an unqualified au pair. They will apply unauthorized charges to your account. And they will find any reason for not releasing your refund. Very primitive matching system, and database is practically empty. I would give this agency 0 stars if I could. We matched with a au pair, weeks of her being with us, we had a reset conversation in which I told her she needs to start doing her job and care for my kids. She called EAP and told them I accused her and my husband of an affair. When I called them weeks later for another matter I came to find this accusation made against me, no one bothered to call me to find out what was going on when she made this accusation. The au pair would not work and made our lives a living hell, she was mean, irritated, berated and snapped at my kids all day. She took my kids to the park when one day I begged her to do something with them, my 5 year old left the park, crossed the Main Street and came home before she even realised he was as gone. My 5 and 3 year old told us she 'hated' them and was mean to them. I reached out to the agency numerous times and got no help. When we finally pushed for a rematch and cited our concerns where she told us she didn't like kids and was only here for her boyfriend, they told me it was illegal for me to be put on the paperwork so the new, unfortunate host family can contact us. If I gave a negative reference I was opening myself to up to litigation. They said it was their duty to protect the au pair but what about the host family? They know this au pair was awful and yet matched her again. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND! This agency operates with unethical standards allows unqualified au pairs, offers no support when issues arias, and cares only about their agency fees. I've spoke with other host families during the rematch period who had horror stories about this agency and the unqualified candidates they accept. Ours stole items from us and the agency would not do anything placing her with another family! This agency still owes us a huge refund we have yet to receive. Not sure why there are these negative comments? May be these families did have a bad experience? I don't know. However, we have had a great experience with ExpertAupair. Our local area director has also been very easy to work with. Everyone that I interacted with in the head office, whether over the email or on the phone, has been helpful, courteous and quick to respond. I know that running a small business is an EXTREMELY HARD practice, and it's almost impossible to keep everyone happy. ExpertAupair does it's best to get what it takes, and their cost of service is also better than many other agencies. Families; who complain about receiving unqualified AuPairs through this agency, perhaps also need to blame themselves for conducting poor interviews where you could not sniff out the issues. read more

We are within 1 hr of Boston and they responded to our application by saying that they do not have a representative close enough to us. I am an au pair with Expert Au Pair since April, 2016. But since October 2015 I only received the best service I would expect. I found a family when I was only one month online, and I have nothing to complain. The host family was very good. The agency made sure they would follow all the program rules. My LCC was always in touch and she still is. Any problem I have, I just need to text them. I'll always receive an answer full of love and care. People that say bad things about the agency only make me believe that they aren't good enough to be or au pair or a host family. I am an Aupair with Expert Aupair. After I had bad experiences with cultural care a few years ago, I gave expert a Chance. I will never regret it, The Service is great and the peoples there are all so nice. What I love about this agency is, that they really care about their Aupairs and it is like a big family. Several months ago, I wrote a negative review about Expert Au Pair, and they responded that it's a fraudulent review. Rest assured, it's a real review. The reason they can't find me in their system is we were concerned with negative ramifications. Now that we have moved on, we are comfortable once again giving a negative review. Please don't use this company. We learned the hard way. Other companies will essentially match their low price. And, I am not a competitor or I would have mentioned another company's name. As mentioned previously, they have terrible customer service and made many mistakes.
