Shane is the man to fix your car in Lynchburg. I've had my girlfriend's oil changed and my car's AC fixed by Shane. He's very experienced and told me that he has fixed cars with Midas, etc and now has his own business. He's trustworthy and even had me get the compressor set from Autozone down the street and only charged me for labor which was very affordable compared to other AC repair estimates online. read more

This was my first visit to expert auto, I found it by many great google reviews. I was surprised by how low-key of a place it is, with only one mechanic. The good: the staff (2 people that day) were very honest and up front, and listened to my questions and expectations. The prices are pretty good, and he told me about some services that I didn't need at the time. The bad: I wish they followed a clearer maintenance schedule for my toyota. It seems they work off of a generic schedule and diagnostics, which may lead to neglected needs for particular models. Unfortunately, while he was good about telling me I didn't need some services, the mechanic also pushed some services that weren't necessarily needed when calling to confirm. I turned right out of a gas station into an unmarked 4 foot deep drainage ditch. My 2019 Acadia went nose down.Luckily my 4 wheel drive backed me out but my radiator was destroyed. Panicked I called several Lynchburg shops hoping to find someone willing to rush a job week of thanksgiving. I saw 5 starts and called. I recently needed to have my head gasket replaced. After searching, I found Expert Auto with impressive reviews. Shane's estimate was very reasonably priced compared to others in the area. He was very thorough with the work and my car hasn't leaked a drop of oil since! I've been back since then to get a CV axle replaced. I really like the way he explains everything and gives you a breakdown of prices. It's very hard to find this kind of honesty and workmanship these days. I moved to Lynchburg, Virginia back in 2011, when I got here I established the basic necessities of a new home town, a new Doctor, Dentist, and of course a new Mechanic. I drive an older model car thats pushing nearly 200,000 miles and it is my desire to keep her lasting as long as possible. Needless to say, in the last 2-3 years my car has had power steering issues, bearing issues, and the most recent transmission and piston issues. Yet, in that time I have never had to seek an alternate place of service for my car. Shane at Expert Auto Repair and his crew have been an excellent auto shop to call my own. Shane has has stayed after he had already closed to wait for me to drag my beat up car there and look it over for me. He has cut me breaks and has worked with me on every angle and level that I needed. Shane is really good about getting your car fixed within a day or two. I've gone to him multiple times over the past year to fix the cooling system and every time he tells me what's wrong with it now and what may be a problem going further. He explains everything in a way I understand and gives me the best price he can. He is the only person I'll let fix my car (I had it towed 30 miles after it broke down because I wanted Shane to fix it). read more

I am disgusted by this place. I went to the shop because I had been there before, and the prices were decent, but at my most recent visit, I was EXTREMELY overcharged. To make matters worse, I had my MALE friend call for an estimate of the exact same work I had done on the exact same vehicle and he was given a far lower price. I sincerely believe that the people giving this place a high rating are relatives or friends of the people working there. There is no way this could ever receive anything more than 1 star.
