It had been more than five years, but last week I took the tour with my three kids and it was just as amazing as ever! We were on a week long vacation and literally added a night in Charleston just for the Ecotour. Both our boat captain and the gentleman driving were incredibly knowledgeable and very approachable. Just good people. They taught us about the ecosystem and various animals that inhabit it. We pulled crab traps and got to handle wildlife as we learned about it. You get time to walk the Boneyard on Capers Island and it is an experience like no other. It is the most pristine beach I have ever seen. Before we boarded our boat to go back to the marina, our captain took time to show my middle kid how to throw a casting net. Very cool people. Perfect mix of education and fun! If you don't do anything else on Isle of Palms - do this!!

The area is…read morebeautiful, but the home was riddled with mold in the air ducts and throughout the home, dirty air filters, two broken couches, filthy floors. Found honeycomb cereal bits under chairs (we didn't have cereal); found a pacifier under the sofa (we don't have babies); the broken couches were propped up with stacks of wooden boards; and both ice makers were broken. These defects were open and obvious. Anyone cleaning or even entering the home would have seen/smelled (mold) the issues. They knew about the issues and still charged top dollar without regard for remediation. Upon arrival, management refused to give us a code to get in on the premise we didn't pay $1k in fees. Please note, this rental was $8500 and was paid in full ahead of time. Management changed after booking and fees were tacked on. Said they contacted our travel agent, but they had not. I stopped communication after they threatened to suspend our codes for access, having not even provided a mode for us to make the payment. Let them know all the issues that were when we checked out. They blamed me for not contacting them to remedy the issues during our stay. Frankly didn't want to deal with them anymore after our initial interaction. That notwithstanding, I asked how they planned to remedy mold, broken couches, and broken ice makers with us in the house. They didn't have an answer to that and ignored it. There were more issues, but these are the ones that will keep us from returning. Please note that I've never left a negative review. The homeowner needs to know what a mess their new management company is running.

It was a good length for a first fishing trip with kids. We also enjoy seeing dolphins and wildlife as we fished. The captain is a lifelong native of the area. The last time I fished with him, we were able to catch bait very quickly, which I really appreciate after numerous fishing trips with others where valuable time was spent running all over the place looking for bait. The boat is a top of the line 24 ft Pathfinder with plenty of speed to get to the fish fast. We actually ran 55 mph down the waterway on my last trip. I can appreciate a charter Captain sacrificing fuel economy to get to the fish FAST!

Arrived as a transient for two days over Christmas. to no electricity - ok we have a generator so that's fine but that also means no perimeter security gates, no Wifi, no lights on piers. Not clean. Animal waste on grass (blame the dog owners but can't site maintenance also help?) hubby says mens bathhouse smells of dead animal and is so filthy he can't use. Layout of marina provides no sight lines from dock office to transient slips, thus no security. Nickel and dime you to on everything- washer, dryer, parking, meters are on the water so soon they will charge for that as well etc. Loud ongoing construction. Slips on the ICW so a passing fishing skiffs and the local ferry rocks and rolls you- all day, all night. Worst marina along entire Intracoastal Waterway. IMHO

We took the 2 hr tour and saw ships, forts, the Battery of Charleston, dredges, the old Navy base, dry docks, and a dolphin, etc. Captain Chris tailored the tour to our interests specifically and our recollections of the area from decades ago. I highly recommend. First there were just the 4 of us so no crowds for Covid worries. Secondly , it was tailored to our interests... we covered a lot of ground in 2 hrs! Third, the cost was less than if we had taken a bigger ship with a herd of people and waited around as they fished, sight saw etc. this small ship was perfect and fast enough we saw everything we wanted and we're back before we burned up from the sun!
