Went there for a full dip set and a pedicure. Asked for ombré on my nails and showed a picture of the color and shape I was looking for. The First Lady didn't seem to understand what I wanted very well and kind of did her own thing. The Second Lady who tried to fix my nails was trying to tell me that what I wanted is "hard to do with dip" which would have been nice if they could tell me they just can't do it. I've come to this salon previously for a pedicure and had a nice experience BUT I came in for an acrylic fill and was highly disappointed. I showed the nail tech a picture of what I had in mind and she said it was no problem and it was something she could execute the final result was nothing like what I asked for my nails are uneven and the gel polish looks terrible. The staff is very friendly, and the salon itself is very clean if you're looking for anymore than a basic mani I'd keep looking. Needless to say they've lost me as a customer. read more

This is one of the best nail salons in the South Shore. It's hidden in a little plaza but it is amazing. My sister introduced me to this salon about 4 years ago. I was living in South Boston but my sister lived in Weymouth. After one visit to this salon I ditched my usual spots and have been coming here ever since. Traveling from Southie to Weymouth was well worth it. I'm now in Quincy so the trip isn't as long. Pedi - 45 minutes of heaven. The massage is fantastic and the hot stones are a nice touch. Toes always look adorable. They have so many colors to choose from. Mani - Very nice manicure - gels last up to 3 weeks. Decor - I have to mention the decor because it's so nice and not your typical nail salon decor. You almost feel like they put pedi chairs and mani desks in the middle of someone's living room. The colors are tranquil and every season of the year this place is decorated so tastefully. Also, I love that I don't have to make an appointment. I can almost always walk right in and sit down in the pedi chair. Only a handful of times have I had to wait about ten minutes. read more

Been here a few times. Pedi's are OK, and the acrylic fills were tolerable, but I recently had my acrylics filled. It was the worst experience ever. The woman was nice and took her time, but she used the rotary filer on bare nail *twice* for too long, making the nail beds very sensitive. Then she over-filed the acrylics again making them much too thin. I hardly ever have nails break, but I've broken two nails this week. I just can't take the chance of getting this woman again and do not want to start scheduling my appointments. read more

Definitely a hidden jewel! I'll never forget about 3 years ago I was looking to have a full set put on the day before my vacation, spur of the moment idea. It was during a snowstorm and while I called all around to get an appointment, every place told me they were closing except expo spa. The woman told me she would stay open if I came in right away. I couldn't believe it since I had never been there before. My nails came out great. Since then I've gone every other week for a fill and once a month for a pedicure. I even take my mother with me when I go and we both absolutely love it there. It is so clean and they do a great job. I've never had a place be able to paint on French nails so well before. I highly recommended making an appointment with Kelly or Anne when you go, although everyone there is highly skilled and do a fantastic job! read more

Christmas Eve I was running around like a maniac trying to get a million things done (per the usual American tradition) and in the middle of all of it i stopped and said "I'm getting a manicure". This place is in my new "hood" of South Weymouth. It's in a mini plaza so there is tons of parking. As I was walking in I did my usual conversation in my head of "I hope they take credit cards", "I hope I can put the tip on the card". This is all too often the problem I have at nail salons and realize far too late. I asked these questions to the polite gentlemen at the desk and his answer to everything was "absolutely". Plus 1 for making my stressful day less stressful! I nice woman named Lindsey took me by the arm and brought me to a station towards the back. The atmosphere was classy and serene. Very clean. It had a bit of a spa feel. Lindsey was great. She made conversation throughout my gel manicure and my nails came out great. I also got an eyebrow wax after. The room was again very serene and clean. You didn't feel like you were walking into a closet in the back as I have felt many times at other nail places. It was probably one of the best eyebrow waxes I've ever had. I love the way your face instantly looks brighter after. I was glad to find this place and will definitely be back! read more

I had never been to Expo but I had a hair appointment in the area and asked my hair dresser where he recommended. I got a gel mani / gel pedi and it was an overall great experience. I did not have an appointment and was able to be seen within 15 min on a Saturday. While waiting, I was able to look through their large assortment of gel colors. The salon is clean (which is very important to me) and has a very nice ambiance. Jane did both of my services and was wonderful! She was sweet and did a great job. I can't speak to the other technicians' quality of service, but I would highly recommend Jane. I have been getting my nails done for years now and have definitely seen my fair share of poor service. I would recommend this salon to a friend and plan on visiting again when I'm in the Weymouth area! read more

Call and make an appointment before you go because this place can be really busy at peak times. Very friendly staff and CLEANEST place I have ever had my nails done. They even put a brand new plastic shield in the pedicure tub thing for each person. Pedicures are really nice, hot stone massage comes with a regular pedicure. I personally think they are the best for anyone who is interested in a gel manicure. I get the french gel manicure and it lasts 3 weeks. Not cheap but I wouldn't say expensive either. You can include your tip on your credit card which is convenient. read more

My friend and I both got terrible shellac manicures here 3 days ago. I usually feel bad ripping a place apart, but I don't want people to waste their money like we did. I used to come to Expo when I lived closer and always got a good manicure. The reason I haven't visited in a while was because a)last time I went, the manicurist was beyond rude and painfully scrapped dry polish off my finger when I pointed out she had smudged an entire nail b) I moved and found my current favorite place. On Thursday, my friend and I decided to give this place another shot since we were meeting up in the area. We both got pedicures and shellac manicures. The pedicures were rushed but came out decent. The shellac we both had done is a nightmare. The top coat was sloppily applied, burning our skin under the uv light, the nail color is all over my skin, the sides of each nail are razor sharp and catching on everything, and there's about a 2 cm gap between my cuticle and the color. Oh, and this morning (Sunday) my thumb nail paint has bubbled and is about to peel. Don't go here. It looks fancy since it's recent renovation, but what you're actually going in to pay for is a bad, painful manicure. First world problems, I know... But they need to improve if they want business. read more

I recently moved and have been trying to find "my nail salon" so with great reviews I tried expo. The pedicure was awesome! I got a refill and it was awful! I went to the guy there for the refill cause the girl doesn't do acrylic. He cut almost all of my fingers, and it took 2 hours!!! My nails were so uneven and lumpy looking. I felt like the girl was rushing through my nails and pedi; and sure enough, a few days later my nails peeled and my pedicure is almost all chipped off! I've been going to Expo Spa for manis and pedis for almost ten years now (that's crazy!) and I thought it was time I wrote a review. I've never had a bad experience here - maybe a long wait once or twice but that's nothing when you consider how often and long I've been going there. I don't know too many names now as there seem to be some newer people there, but the owner is always very friendly, Kelly always remembers me and is super friendly, and most recently I've been seeing Jane for my gel manis. She is one of the newer technicians but she is so sweet and does an amazing job. I only schedule my appointments with her now! Almost don't want to post her name because I don't want her to get booked up ;) but she definitely deserves recognition. I've recommended many friends to this location and they've all been happy as well! read more

Quality of service has gone down significantly since new ownership. I have been going to EXPO since it first opened and have had such great experiences as it grew as a business. However since new ownership a few months ago the quality of service has been a disappointment ...from the appointment scheduling, to the staff interaction and nail care. Sadly my days at EXPO have ended as I seek out another salon to give my business to. A salon where the staff is a bit friendlier ( and there to please the customers), where I don't feel rushed out the door, and the quality of nail care is better. EXPO needs to get back to how the old owners ran it , where everybody knew your name, and they took the time it required to do a good job on nails. It USED TO BE a place I would brag about to my friends who went to other salons...but not anymore. read more

It pains me to write this, it really does... I have been going here for years, like at least 6 or 7 years I'd say and I have always loved it here. I've bragged so much about how great they are and have sent a ton of friends and family to them. But sadly, my expo spa days are over. They recently got new management and the few times I've gone in since, I've had under par experiences but the one I had this past weekend takes the cake. My mani and pedi was done in a half hour. Unacceptable. There was no foot and leg massage, the nails are all different lengths and I didn't even have that extremely soft, just pedicured feeling to my feet when it was all done. i could've done better myself. The manicure was a joke. I had to tell the girl 3 times to cut my nails before she actually listened to me. And even then, I had to file some of them down myself when she walked out back to get a towel. Also, the girl who took me was arguing (not in english) with 2 other employees right in front of me and they were all pointing at me so i know it was something to do with me. i hope they were just telling her what a crap job she had done, but reguardless i was extremely uncomfortable. I waited at the desk for a good 5 minutes when I was all done to pay for the services. Two employees, one of them being the new owner I believe, just talked to each other and went about what they were doing acting as if I wasn't even standing there. Believe me, I was tempted to walk out without paying, but I couldn't do that in good conscience. Nail salons around here are a dime a dozen. You can find one on every corner. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

My sisters and I had a 5:00 appointment at Expo Spa for gel manicures and pedicures. When we walked in we were barely acknowledged so we let them know we had appointments. We picked our colors and sat in the waiting area. By the time we were actually seated it was 5:30, too late for one of us to have both services done as she had to be somewhere at 7. She was seated at the manicure station and we were seated for our pedicures. Once they brought us to this area we again waited for quite a while before services were actually started. Once our pedicures were done (they did a decent job on those, hence the 2 stars...) we sat in the pedicure chairs while they took other customers who came in after us and worked on them. Once 6:30 rolled around we decided we had spent too much time just waiting and paid and left without our manicures. I completely understand that nail salons get busy, but the fact that we had appointments which were completely ignored and that they weren't the least bit apologetic for the wait or the fact that we ended up leaving without even getting our manicures was astonishing. We will definitely be going elsewhere for our nail care needs in the future. read more

I used to go here e/o week and get a gel manicure, they did a great job.. until I got a nail fungus. It was on my thumb and middle finger, I asked what it was and the girl said it was from the polish. Needless to say, it only got worse as she continued to mask it with the gel manicures. Eventually, I stopped going there when I found out what it really was. That makes me even more skeptical - if they knew I had a nail fungus, and continued to give me manicures, can you imagine how many other people it may have spread to? My mother also got her pedicures here and sure enough- she got a nail fungus on her toe nail. This goes to show the unsanitary conditions. The interior looks super clean and renovated, yet they clearly don't sterilize their tools. Go at your own risk.. read more
