Unreliable is still too good. Installed a new hard drive in my laptop and now 3 months later, it has quit again. Tried to go by there and the doors are locked. Kept calling over and over, no answer and messages are full. It has been 3 days now and the same thing. Thought i would check with one of the other Express Computer Repair places listed on his door to see what happen. There gone too. I hope you don't have a computer there locked up and unable to get. I took my computer in around 25FEB2022. I finally got it returned 07MAY2022. Though the gentlemen running the place is knowledgeable, he doesn't have the time or staffing to adequately work on any consumer walk-ins. His business is focused on the corporate clients he has. When he is out, it is near impossible to get any response. I left numerous messages and hardly received any updates. During those times, this place will be vacant and inaccessible. Paid his diagnostics fee and left with my computer. I just wanted to be out of there as quickly as possible. After unloading, I noticed that he hadn't given me the panel to the case. First as soon as you walk into this location, the smell of cigarette smoke is overpowering. At first walking in I thought it was the "older building" but it became to much for me while trying to get a quote. I brought in a tablet with a broken screen. Originally, I was quoted $90 for the repair. This was after having the opportunity to look up the screen online. After my leaving and approving the repair and the estimated time for repairs I then received a call informing me the new charge would be over $250 closer to $270. Upon hearing that quote and change, I told them not to do the repair as I could get another tablet and I would be back to pick my tablet up. There was hesitation on the phone as they said "Give us time, we have to put it back together." The gentleman was surprised when I came back to get the tablet. He was again trying to tell me that the part alone was $200. I told him "Thank you". He was not aware my husband is an IT professional who didn't have the time to replace the screen himself, thus why I was bringing it to a location near me when I am in downtown Grapevine. Online the part is only $90. Which we have since ordered. In addition not having it in a smoke filled environment assures the quality and integrity of the equipment. This location still asks for passcodes. However, I didn't provide one as we had the tablet on guest mode. As previous people state there are other locations to go. read more

do not take your computer to this place for repair!!! this guy, chris, ripped me off &180 for a 320gb hard drive. on top of that he cut the wire to the computer webcam while re-assembling the computer. when i press him on it, he accused me of dishonesty and that i actually cut the webcam wire to make an issue with him....i can not wrap my mind around his accusation. i took my computer away from him before any further damages and instead took it to 911 computer repair. 911 computer repair fix the problem very quickly with little to nothing!!! again, take your computer/cellphone to another place for repair and avoid this place if you want to avoid being cursed at on the phone when you try find out when your item will be ready 2 weeks later. read more

I gave my laptop for repair almost 4 weeks ago.They told me it will be easy and only this much money....then they need a lot more money for parts and labor than they agreed to me previously.When I pointed out that that was not the agreed price they called police on me stating I am holding up their business.Also they take only cash.After I returned with cash the person told me I can not check the laptop in the store and he won`t give any guarantee that it works.If I have any problem with that I can file claim with small claims tribunal...Too much hassle and I don`t have time for that.So I ended up not getting my laptop.It is still in their store.He told me he will sell it.Hopefully they will erase data before that.I think that is the plan from the beginning for them..Avoid these people..Save your time and money.. read more

I have been using Bedford Express Computer Repair for the last 12 years and am finding myself compelled to write a review because the service I have received over that time has been so effective and affordable. At times I have 'picked their brains' for the little things I think I can fix myself with a little coaching and they've been wonderful. And of course when I get in over my head, they've bailed me out every time. I know very little about the inner workings of a computer but I like to tinker, and if they don't have what I want in the shop, they can have it for me within a week. They have made the best suggestions that I have come across. In May 2015 I took my laptop in this location and requested an estimate for a repair. I was offered a diagnostic check and I declined. I was told the repair I needed would cost approximately $150.00. He asked me for my password to my laptop. I thought the request was suspicious being he was able to access my laptop via the guest account. He insisted it was necessary to access my primary account which contain my personal information. He was aware the only necessary repair was replacing my screen. I returned approximately one week later to pick up my laptop. When I arrive the owner told me the repairs were not made and that my actual charges would be approximately $250. I declined to have these repair completed because I received a cheaper estimate at a different location. Considering the price, I thought the name of this location should be Excessive Computer Repairs. He stated it was necessary for me to leave the laptop and return at a later date because he took my laptop apart and it remained apart. I returned one week later and he charged me $60 for a diagnostics check that I previously declined on the first day that I went to this location. When I declined to pay the $60 he called the police. This was the only time I observed "express" action was taken at "Express Computer Repair." When the police arrived it appeared they were familiar with him and his methods. I would highly recommend anyone reading this review save your money, time and avoid the slightest possibilities this person will attempt to access your private information held on your computer. Also, avoid the possibilities of being charged for services but you did not request and his attempt to give you a criminal record. Express Computer Repair demanded $ 65.00 to give me a quote on removing a virus - after I had dropped off the laptop. They did not tell me about the minimal fee before/when I dropped off the laptop - only when I stopped by to pick it back up after they could not do the service I asked for. They refused to give me back my laptop and threatened to call the Bedford police until I paid them cash for the charge. They pointed to a sign written in red lettering (I am red color blind and can not read it) and said I should have read the sign.
