I had Express install a Cedar fence in 2003 and just used them again to install a vinyl fence in my backyard. Mauro was great in providing me a quote, getting permit and installed within one week. The fence is solid and sturdy and the workers were meticulous during the install. This company has been in business for almost 3 decades and have nothing but praise for their workmanship. My neighbors and family all reached out on how nice fence looks and have asked for Express Fence's number. The price was fair and competitive and they are very conscientious. If you value your neighbors do not use this company. Next door neighbors put up fence and the workers had to be on our property to work due to the trees in their yard. The workers were extremely rude. They used our water faucet for their cement and then mixed said cement on top of the sod we put in 2 years ago completely destroying the grass that was there. Also leaving nails and screws behind for my three year old twins to find. When trying to contact Mauro for compensation for damage done, no reply at all. Plus a pretty cheap looking fence I have to look at, terrible company. read more

CAUTION: Owner does not stand behind his error. Contract sketch was a 1 1/2" x 2" drawing and difficult to read. I saw the measurements but did not understand it was backwards with width and length. When fence was finished, Mauro's attitude was that I signed the contract, case closed. I said I was willing to pay for addition footage. He said okay and would send me a new contract, but he never did. read more

At first this company seemed amazing. The fence turned out beautiful and was exactly what we wanted. A week later there was an issue with the main gate not functioning properly. I called and emailed several times before getting a response. They said I owed a balance. I checked my numbers and that just wasn't true. They said they would not come back to fix the gate until I paid a small balance. I asked for further clarification and there was an additional charge for something I thought was in the original estimate. I have zero problem paying for what I owe but they were very defensive and rude. They threatened to come take out part of my fence. An apology for a small miscommunication between myself, the installer and the estimator would have been all that was needed to make this right. Disclaimer: I don't do a lot of reviews but I feel I'd be doing a disservice to those trying to actually get a good fence. Stay away... shoddy workmanship and Mauro does not guarantee his work. I don't know why it's taken me so long to post this but the fence blowing over was the last straw. I had this custom fence put in years ago. It was not done to specifications nor was it of high quality(I guess you get what you pay for.) I didn't want to be the pain in the a** guy so I dealt with it because it was good enough. A year after it was put in a makeshift 6x6 post that was was supposed to hold a swinging gate in place ripped a hole in my siding because Mauro thought it would be a great idea to drill it into the house instead of the ground?! I let it go because I'd rather not have to fix another mistake. Year by year the wear of the fence has taken its toll and the poor quality has shown. Finally, this year ( going on 4th year) the strong winds knocked over my non custom portion, which is a normal 6ft fence. The 4x4 posts completely rotted and no protection whatsoever was in tact. Called Mauro... "It's not my problem," he says. Fine! Before you get your fence, just ask yourself, do I want the installer to take the pride in their work and stand behind their product? If the answer is yes, then maybe you keep looking! read more

The Express Fence team was wonderful. We had an aluminum fence moved from another property to ours. The team was very careful to remove the fence posts that were set in concrete completely intact (somehow) and replace them on our property. They took amazing care in the relocation and were quick, clean and thourough. Mauro was attentive and communicative on timing, expectations and the price was very fair compared to quotes I received from other companies. Called Express Fence to do a small job of running a single fence from our detached garage to the house with a gate. The owner came out and took measurements but didn't give me a quote right away. He then emailed me a quote on 2 different types of fence. One was a "dog eared" style fence and the other a "scalloped" fence. I told him his price was a litter higher than I had anticipated and asked if he could call me back to discuss the price. He never called back. I then followed up with him and he said: "I didn't call you back because you didn't sound serious". I told him that I was absolutely serious (that's why I asked to discuss the price further). I asked if he could come down in the price and he agreed so I picked the "scalloped" fence design. I then waited for weeks until he finally called back and said they could schedule the job. When the crew came out, they were making crude comments in Spanish (they didn't know I too could speak Spanish). After they began work I noticed that the fence they brought out was the "dog eared" design the wood was cheap scrap wood and came with the wrong posts. When I showed the crew leader the contract that clearly stated the "scalloped" design they proceeded to "CUT" the existing (wrong) fence to try and "replicate" the correct design. I voiced my concerns (and threw in a little Spanish to let them know I understood what they were saying) and was offered $100 off my price. Terrible customer service & cheap materials. Corners were cut at every opportunity. I will NEVER recommend Express Fence to anyone. read more

Really disappointed by the outcome of this fence service. Initially communication was really smooth until the actual job began. I was told I would get a call 2-3 days before start, had to call after several days of no word or show but when I did reach them they said they would be there to lay posts that afternoon. Abrupt but I thought, ok, it's finally getting done. Then they show up at 3pm and work until 6:30pm, which normally would be ok if it didn't get dark at 4:30pm and have no light therefore leaving a sloppy job and huge mess behind. I didn't see the mess at first bc it was so dark so I then paid for half the service and was told they would be back in 2-3 days after the cement posts dry to finish. 4 days go by and I (again) am outreaching them to figure out when they're coming to finish. No answer or call back for 2 days after this go by and I am left leaving several annoying messages. They finally show up, are outside all day into the late evening and leave without word or me noticing. I go outside to see a bigger mess than the first time. I call and was told they hadn't finished and would be back first thing. They show up the next morning in the hour I went to the store and I come home to what they consider a finished job. Uneven posts, boards sticking out, mud and sticks all over my yard and my neighbors driveway. Nail on the coffin - I paid an extra $100 for 'tree removal' and come to find they had just cut off the top of the tree, leaving part of a stump, and fenced around the stump. I had to call, again, and ask the owner to come out to look at it himself. He agreed the work was sloppy and the tree needed to come fully out as agreed. They finished that day and the work was finally done after 3 weeks of insanity. Unless you have the patience of a thousand suns I would recommend you look elsewhere for your fencing needs. read more

I spent a lot w/ Express Fence, over approx $3900-4900. Mauro put up about 60' of private fencing for us, then less than 6 years, in the corner two of his posts failed, guess what?...No Guarantee for this work. So I decided to call other known fence companies that stated from 6 year to 10 year on posts!....well after spending much dinero MAuro, I was charged for $360.00 for 2 posts!...Then from a storm, another section of fence, I spent a lot of money asMAuro replaced a lot more North fence Posts, etc, for a lot of money. GUESS WHAT?.....The work he did to put up the fence section next to the North Gate...is DOWN!!!!...I gave this guy a lot of my money, then when I questioned him ( How dare me), he decided not to return my texts!!!!..... A section of fence that he installed LAST year is on the ground, and he refuses to even come out!!!!!!....Also, I would suggest you compare the quality of wood he uses vs the other guys, and make sure to measure how thick of wood he is using, and verify it is the kind you are comparing prices for WITH WARRANTIES, SPELLED OUT ON RECEIPT WHEN YOU PAY.......Wish I knew better read more

Waited forever for the right fence to come. It came, but without the gates! Waited forever for the gates to come. It came. It was the wrong gates! First you need to know they don't take credit and they don't tell you till after you get all your estimates, decide on them and they come out with contract. Second, they only have part time office help and so when you call you may or may not reach someone. They don't communicate well. On the day we scheduled it was raining and I was expecting a call saying we will come in a couple of hours if the rain lets up. No call. I called them. They did come later, but why not a little communication? The day we scheduled for the second part of the install , they call in the morning to say they can't come because the rain the day before cancelled another client and they were going there instead. I had taken the day off for this and now they were postponing my work. Not good. After the second install the crew left without a word. The gate was not installed. No one said, someone else will put in gate later in the day, they just left. I had to call to find out what was going on. No communication. After the first stage, they also left the fencing equipment in the garage. They did not ask me or even tell me. They just moved around some of my stuff and put the fencing in - no communication . They did not check the plan that was drawn up. They ended up digging holes on a line that was not where the fence was to go. Fortunately we caught it before they poured concrete. The work itself looks good. Its only been a couple of days so can't say anything about durability. read more
