I am TOTALLY stoked with this place. Kam saved my sorry butt. I had to make an emergency trip to Mission Viejo due to a death in the family (yes, Covid-19). I didn't have time to load everything I needed on my laptop, so I just disconnected everything from my desktop tower and tossed it in the car. I wanted to upgrade the memory anyway, and knew I would be recycling two computers once I got here. I hoped to find some compatible RAM in the old devices. Sadly, the RAM in the old computers was half gig sticks, which I knew would be useless to me. I opened my box, blew out the dust, and discovered all my RAM slots were full. I took out a stick to photograph so I could be sure to buy the right stuff, then replaced it. In retrospect, it didn't click into place exactly as I expected, but I was able to close the clamps, so I thought it was in. I fired it up and it wouldn't boot. I installed the RAM a second time, and got a better "click" with the clamps self-closing. With confidence, I fired it up again. Still nothing. Then the horrible epiphany moment strikes. I've broken it by trying to fix it. Sinking... I found Express Fix on Yelp. Reviews looked good. Oh sure, a few one-star reviews. One of those seems be from a professional hater (9 reviews, all bad), one from someone with only one review on Yelp, etc. Other that those, every single review was five stars. I carried the box into the store and was greeted by Kam. He took it, promised me a free diagnosis and a phone call later in the day. About three hours later he calls back, tells me my BIOS is wiped, and how much it will be to fix it. I eagerly agreed, and said, since you're in there anyway, please max out the RAM and replace the HD with a Solid-state Drive. From there on it was, I believe, just one big headache for Kam. I had given him my user password but not the Admin password. Then the Registry was bad, and he would have to reinstall Windows. Then all my files were under various users and complicated the file transfer. None of this got him down. He called me several time to discuss it and give me updates. He had it fixed in two days. I love the RAM, love the SSD, love the clean Window install. It's a new computer with 10 years of data that I'm very glad to have. The price was so nice, and I put him through so much grief, that I gave him a $40 tip. I have zero hesitation about giving Express Fix my highest recommendation. Thank you, Kam! read more

I waited about 30 days to post my review on this company because I wanted to see how my apple computer performed after the repairs they made. My laptop is about 6 years old and over the last 18mos or so (after updating the software), the computer basically stopped working. Every program was so slow to the point the computer was useless. I brought it in to a few places and everyone said to change the hard drive. The pricing I received from other local competitors was higher than these guys, plus this company does a free diagnostic (other companies said I would need to pay for the diagnostic, which could be applied to the repair, but even with that the overall cost was still higher and I would be out 40 bucks if I did not let them do the repair). Bottom line is, took my laptop into Express Fix, received free diagnostic and cost for repair was more affordable than competitors. Left my laptop at their location and got a call back within about 3hrs saying it was fixed. The best part is, the last 30 days my laptop has ran better than it did after I purchased it. While changing the battery of my Asus Zenbook I ripped the connecter off of the motherboard. I first brought it to another computer repair shop nearby in Lake Forest (off of I-5 and Lake Forest exit) and was told that I would need to send it back to Asus. I thought I would try one more place and brought it to Express Fix for a second opinion. They repaired it in less than 24 hours ! Excellent service and very reasonable price. This is my favorite store, Kevin does a real clean/ professional job. The Apple store I went to disappointed me by saying the cost of my MacBook motherboard replacement is $799. That is a outrageous price for a laptop that I bought from the same Apple store a year ago for the same price. Although the motherboard was water damaged, Kevin fixed this for me for a lower cost and it is still working like a champ. A while ago, I came to this shop. I was having trouble getting a secondhand recycled PC to display graphics when trying to install an OS, and so I took it to this place for the "free diagnostic". Somehow, they had managed to put the machine in an even worse state (not powering on at all) than before I took my machine to them. Furthermore, they had the gall to tell me that I needed to pay them $120 for a "BIOS reflash", which didn't make sense to me at all. I promptly took back my computer and took it to another repair shop that charges a flat-rate $39 fee for diagnostics, and this other repair shop quickly identified the issue that Express Fix had caused and fixed it without me having to pay anything. Great Fast Inexpensive Clean Transparent Friendly and Awesome. I took a "Good" HP laptop in for a factory reset and upgrade from Business Windows 7 to Win 10 and received a quote. While there he suggested upgrading to a Solid State Drive, I told him it already had a SSD, and thanked him. He said "food, because the start up of Win 10 without Solid State is slow". Told me to stop by NEXT day and pick up. Then the next AM called and said I has a "partitioned drive and No SSD". Continued to say if I wanted the upgraded drive it would be another $80.00 and still be completed by day's end. A TOTAL STEAL! I got the HP back with New Win 10, all the current drivers and components, plus a new SSD in ONE DAY, for less than $166.00n I'm actually looking forward to the next time I need service! read more

I dropped my laptop last night and broke my lcd and side of the laptop and I thought this laptop is finished and not didi able and I had tons of important information in it. Do not trust this shop at all. I went for my Dell XPS repair as laptop was not turning on. After a day of daignostic he told me that video card has damaged and needs to be replaced. With motherboard cost , total amount could range $600. I went for 2nd opinion to Dell , and they found issue was with charging cable. Luckily i got spare one from my friend costing me $0. It would have taken them less than a minute to find out issue was with cable and not video card as they use their own cable. Please go their at your own risk. Not recommended, and they will tell complete lies. I wish I can give 0 star read more

Just got home from Express Fix Computers and immediately sat down to write down this review. I couldn't be happier with the experience I had there. My computer started making a horrible screeching sound despite running smoothly and I feared the worst. I knew something somewhere inside was broken or out of place and as a former besst buy employee, I knew if I went there with an internal issue they'd take days to fix anything since they send things out to a service center. I called another local shop in Lake Forest who told me if I brought it in today they could finish with the diagnostic tomorrow afternoon. I tried calling Express Fix and their phone line didn't go through, but with "express" in their name I decided to take a chance and hope that they could at least tell me what was wrong with it sooner than 24 hours later. The drop off took less than 5 minutes. I explained what was wrong, the person who checked it in said he'd call me that afternoon after the diagnostic was complete. Score 1 for Express Fix! I got a call maybe 2 or 3 hours later, explaining that the issue was my fan I could spend $65 to get it fixed or $180 to get it replaced. I asked what their opinion was, if the fan looked physically damaged to justify replacing it or if I could get by with the fix. I was told it wasn't broken, just out of place, and that the repair would be covered for 90 days so an honest answer saved me $120 bucks. If that wasn't good enough already, I was able to pick it up at 5 PM that day! There was no way I thought this issue was going to get fixed within a day and for under $100. I hope my computer never again breaks but if it does I'll be going back to Express Fix immediately. read more

They checked it and suddenly the motherboard was bad. No way. Hard to believe they did not accidentally do something. I now need a new phone. Check other 1 star reviews before going here.
