Rolled in here after a blowout on the highway. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, and free air. Would change tire here again!

I hope I have chosen the right Smiths. This is the one by Sun River. My daughter and I go to this…read moreSmiths all the time. It is one of her favorite places to go. She can not walk on her own and has several health issues. She can't be in crowded places so this smith gives her a nice open feel to drive the electric cart around and be happy. However, tonight May 22, 2026 at 6:31pm we finished our grocery shopping and went to the register. The register guy was helping the customer in front of us find something so we started loading our groceries out of my cart and then her electric cart. I separated the 2 orders with space because there was no space bar. When Mike the cashier was ready to help us I told him where the soda cans end and the Gatorade starts is where the two orders split. His reply was do you need a space bar and he handed me one. I said yes, there was not one for me to get. I had unloaded everything except the 2 watermelons in my cart. I had taken the tag off of one of the watermelons and placed it at the begining of the order so he could ring up the watermelon without me having to take it out of the cart. The next thing he said to me after handing me the space bar was "so you have 2 watermelons in your cart do you want to pay for them" I told him yes, I put the bar code right there at the beginning of the order so you could ring them up. He hadn't even taken time to look, he was worried I was stealing watermelon. Then he started to scan my groceries and said "you better go get your fruit before it gets smashed." There was no bagger and he was not willing to bag the items as he scanned them. So I said sure and started to bag my own groceries. Then when he finished scanning everything he told me I needed to come pay for them. I said sure let me finish bagging my groceries. He then yelled across the store loud enough for the whole front end to hear: "I need an order suspended, the customer is refusing to pay" I was in shock!! I have not ever refused to pay for my groceries I was bagging them like he told me to do at the first. So I stopped bagging and said I never refused to pay. The manager at the front end was trying to understand what the cashier was saying to him and the cashier yelled it again, "the customer is refusing to pay". By this time I am furious! I am totally embarrassed that he is telling the whole front of the store I am refusing to pay. I have NOT Ever been treated like this in any store. The front end manager came over, by now my daughter who gets overstimulated with a lot of commotion is yelling at the cashier telling saying why did you say that about my mom? He told he he didn't, and my daughter yelled yes you did. My daughter doesn't hear good, so she talks loud. I went to her and said don't, let it go, just stay calm. I reported all of this to the Front End Manager and left the store with my daughter. Once I got the groceries in the car I went back in to handle this right and get the store managers name so I could call him tomorrow morning. I needed to give the store manager the opporunity to correct the problem. As my daughter and I drove home, she started crying, she was very upset and said she didn't feel like that store was a safe place for her to go to anymore. She came home and had to go to her special room which is a safe space for her when she feels overwhelmed. My daughter couldn't even eat dinner she was so upset at how we had been treated at her most favorite store to go to. I came home and told my husband and he wanted to get back in the car and go back to the store to get this addressed. I said no we just need to let this rest tonight. I will call tomorrow. This store has normally been a good place for us to go to. We have another Smiths closer but this Smith helps her. I have not EVER been treated like a theif in a store like I was tonight.
