We went to pay and told the cashier that we saw online if we gave our phone number we would get 20% off. She said that only works if you open a card and they didn't do that here. So we left. So we went back and talked to the same cashier "Valeria" who seemed quite irritated to see us back and I guess wasn't happy that we had a coupon. Clothes are nice but the customer service and cleanliness needs work. The employees are too busy talking amongst themselves or looking at their cell phones when you walk in to offer assistance. they just glare at you. The young girls who work there need some serious customer service training. When you ask for something they seem too bothered to assist. As a customer - you do not want to feel like a burden. They should try a simple smile or even faking interest in helping the customers would be better than what they do. The dressing rooms are disgusting. As a business owner myself, I hope that the Express brand/store and other Victoria gardens stores steer clear of employees like Ashley at this Express store. I too know of the payroll/fatigue struggles you encounter during thanksgiving week but there is a business to run, payroll to paid, and employees to make happy and businesses need to be aware of who is representing them as well as hindering their sales. I walked in at 640pm to hear an employee later known as Ashley say, "welcome, just so you know we are closing in 20 minutes." Okay, thanks for the warning so I can look for a coat quicker. It only rubbed me the wrong way bc I already knew I was pressed for time and the music was off as well and the warning wasn't friendly but rushed. I usually shop 95% online now but I dared to shop online in person today so I didn't have to return and rebuy online. I found a few cute additional items but was reminded repeatedly (10 plus times) of my winding down time as she reminded others of of their (and my) remaining time. It was really unnecessary and condescending. Into my 20 minutes, one of her associates said to her something about how "you told them" regarding some other customer she shooed away and we actually heard Ashley reply, "I'm not playing" confirming she didn't care and wanted to close right at 7pm under no circumstances. I didn't say anything but was kinda shocked. I think Ashley forgot she had already told me they were closing soon earlier when she saw me again and told me they "were closing the registers in seven minutes." I replied that I knew they were closing soon bc she told me a few minutes ago. She said, "well that's my job" instead of saying "okay, let me know how I can help." At that point, I just got my sizes for the two coats I wanted so I could just order online because I was certainly no longer going to purchase from this store. I asked Ashley to let me out because she locked the doors before they were even closed. Lol. I was hesitant to include Ashley's name but I was reminded of how abrasive she was and honestly it falls in line with other reviews that have been shared here. Horrible customer service! My mom and I came in to shop around 6:35. At 6:50 we asked to try stuff on (both us having 1-2 items only). We asked someone for help and she said "all of the fitting rooms are full" walked away and rolled her eyes. We looked and only one out of 10+ were in use. So we waited a few minutes and then asked her again and said "we looked and they're all empty, can you open them so we can try on please?". She looked extremely annoyed that she had to do the job she was hired to do, and said "I said all of them are full because we're going to close soon and are not opening any fitting rooms up". She rolled her eyes again and was extremely rude. The person who was in the one "open" fitting room was still occupying it. Meanwhile, 6 minutes had passed since we first asked her. We could've tried on and been in line checking out by that point. She even denied another girl a fitting room, and she was forced to change in the middle of the store over her own clothes! We put our items down and walked out. I hope you know she cost the company a sale and lost future customers. Will never shop at express ever again since those are the type of people you're hiring. She was a girl with black/brown hair wearing a white/black knit maxi dress. None of the other workers intervened either after looking at us AND making another girl change in the middle of the store. I understand closing the fitting rooms AT 7, but they could've made three sales in the span of those ten minutes instead of acting entitled and not wanting to do their job and open a fitting room. I've been here few times in the last couple months. The dressing rooms are filthy. They are dirty, dusty, there's hair and other garbage. It's so weird that they don't have a basic janitor service for the rooms when selling nice clothes that touch the floor. Also, the return policy is whatever the cashier at the time feels like. I've been to this location many of times and today's visit was by far the best experience I've had. Elena is a newer employee at this location but you wouldn't be able to tell. She made me feel as if I was the only customer in the store. She helped me with everything that I needed and also recommended other things that I would have never looked at on my own. My husband and I were greeted at this store yesterday 1/21/22 fri at around 2pm. We spent close to an hour here trying on clothes so they knew we were in the store. But however around 245pm shout out to the employee that told us as she was running out that she was on break and she basically couldn't help us. My experience with this company was far from good. I have been shopping with express for years, I love their pants for work but this last time I spent quite a lot and when I wanted to return a pair of pants I was told that I could not because it was 1 day past the 30 day return policy! I could not do an exchange or get store credit! Unbelievable but what was the worst part was the "manager" Abel who really delighted in the fact that nothing can be done which he stated over and over with a big malicious grin each time he said it. I don't believe he was a manager and if he was he has zero experience in guest service. I will blame part of that on express for not training their associates properly. Horrible customer service. Abel is one of the worst "managers " that I have encountered in a long time. Absolutely no empathy or concern for my issue as a guest. He just did not care. I will not be shopping at express at all at this location or online due to the ridiculous return policy and their lack of training as a corporation. They hire the twenty somethings so they don't have to pay them too much but the customer pays for it on so many ways, their prices are ridiculously increased over the last few years. I had an extremely good experience at this Express store. I was immediately greated by a staff member, and he helped me pick out sizes along with suggesting another style in addition to my current pick. He helped me start a dressing room immediately and was very attentive while I was trying on my clothes. I have walked into other Express Stores and have spent more than 20 minutes, with no help or assistance in obtaining a dressing room. 2 years ago, my review of this place was really disappointing. But I'm the last few months, my experience here has been great! A few months ago, I was shopping for my husband for his guy's trip. I didn't have much of a clue what I wanted to get him, but Jamie was there to rescue us! She was super friendly, kind, and a great stylist!! She took a look at my husband, asked for the sizes, went to grab some items, and WOOLA! A great outfit for the trip! Complete with sports coat, Henley long sleeve, and skinny black denim jeans. I've tried shopping here many times and most of the time have been ignored. Times like these, I wish I was a secret shopper...but I can Yelp them! I haven't shopped here for awhile, due to my last experience here. I asked a salesperson to check for a size in some pants I liked. He said he answered, "uh, sure." Instead, he quickly forgot my request and went on to help someone else. I thought maybe he would still go and check for me, so I waited awhile. He never checked and in fact passed by me a few times and gave me a blank stare like he never spoke to me. The customer service here is nonexistent and the staff is extremely unfriendly. They only talk to certain people. I wrote an email to their district office regarding this issue, but they never responded. Guess they're OK with their company's employees being rude. FYI: Just because you dress in nice clothes at your mall job, does not make you better than others. It just means you bought those clothes with your employee discount! read more

The line to pay had hit the back wall, probably around a 30 minute wait. Not very 'express' at all. Even more inefficient is the fact that there is no separate line for returns/exchanges nor is their an 'express' line for customers with less than x items. I really only go in here during those big sales where they have their clothes shoved into boxes and you have to dig.. dig... dig.. to find something good.. The staff is pretty stuck up until they realize that you are actually interested in buying something.. They are also pretty stuck up if you go in there dressed pretty plainly.. I visited this location a couple weeks back, in hopes of finding the perfect interview outfit. I left with 3 jackets, 2 pants, and 3 tops! The employees were SUPER friendly and accommodating. I asked them a ton of questions and for different sizes/styles and they were beyond helpful. They even told me how to go on my phone to look up a discount code for my large purchase. Really overpriced on basic items. Sales are always good so I always check the sale rack. The best sale they have had recently is the buy one get one 50% off which included the sale items. Also it's pretty disappointing that they don't carry longs in skinny jeans or jean leggings. I came to this Express location looking to exchange a shirt I had been gifted for one a size larger, to be used in a job interview that very same day. While they unfortunately were out of that shirt and couldn't do the exchange without a receipt, both Jamie and Dylan both went out of their ways to ensure I found the perfect shirt that would fit me. Dylan helped me find multiple shirts and gave me recommendations on which shirts would go with my dress pants. When I went to purchase two shirts with Jamie at the register, she gave me a student discount (she told me about it rather than me asking) and chatted with me about my job interview. She also hooked me up with an Express account. I was summarily impressed at the level and quality of service that both Jamie and Dylan provided at Express. I love this location. I went in today because I had to exchange a skirt that didn't fit. I got the skirt on sale and didn't have a receipt. I also took off the tag. I was expecting a hassle and that I would have to pay the difference in price. NOT THE CASE AT ALL. She simply looked up the sale and made an even exchange. Great customer service. I love express but this location always seems to ruin my day the people who work here really need an attitude adjustment or learn sum customer service everytime i go in they are giving me a hard time they not only check my id and credit card but they want to hold it in their hand n stare hard at it like theyre trying to remember my info or somethg really creepy. The manager has even told me she needed to verify my home address in order for me to be able to swipe my express credit card during a purchase i have never had anyone else need to make this type of verification at any other store EVER!! I've been in here a few times and have never been disappointed. As I'm thinking about it now, I think the only times I'm here is right after Christmas. The day my friend and I came in, it was pretty early in the day. The store wasn't at all crowded. Since I knew what I came in for, I went straight to the dress shirts. I like the way they fit, slightly tight and not at all baggy yet not so fitting that I look like a stuffed sausage. The shirts were buy one, get one half off which is pretty normal for Express. I knew I needed two shirts so I took full advantage. One white and one light purple dress shirt later, I was ready to go. That is, until I say the ties. I've been a sucker for ties for a long time. I don't wear, nor do I own, many "fat" ties. I usually buy the skinny ties, reminiscent of the 60s swag, formerly known as "class". I saw a black skinny with white polka dots, trendy but not obnoxious. I grabbed one and saw it's brother in navy with teal polka dots. I grabbed one of those as well and booked it to the register, knowing well that I was on the verge of over buying. The lady working the register let me know that I had yet to register my Express Next card for their new program and told me how many points I'd have if I registered, how many got me what, etc. It was very helpful and I went home and registered immediately, and my points transferred! I don't see anything wrong with coming back here, but I've gotta pay down my credit card a bit before I do! read more
