I hired Express Rentals to provide a dumpster and remove approximately 5 inches of dirt from my yard using a skid steer. Before booking, I sent multiple photos of the project, and based on those photos they provided me with a quote. The following day they increased the price, which I accepted because I wanted to get the job completed.
Once the crew arrived, I was told they couldn't use the skid steer in parts of the yard because of the limited access and underground utilities. These were issues that should have been identified before quoting the job since they had multiple photos in advance. Instead, I was faced with another request to increase the price.
I also wasn't informed ahead of time that the amount of dirt would require an additional load and that the cost would double. Better communication and a proper assessment before providing a quote would have avoided these surprises.
The biggest disappointment was management's communication. Rather than working professionally to resolve the situation, I received repeated phone calls pressuring me about the job and additional costs. It came across as unprofessional and frustrating.
