My training went far above and beyond my expectations and I could not recommend Express Training Solutions more for any type of training you are seeking in the healthcare field. I have taken three courses from them already: Basic ECG skills, ACLS, & PALS. Both of my instructors for these courses -- Peter Tharp and Ahmed Jaffer were *outstanding.* They were very kind, patient, professional, and extremely proficient at teaching. I was well prepared to succeed on the certification exam. The instructors were what made these courses so excellent and from my experience with them I have been compelled to share here on Yelp. I have been so happy with my instruction that I have signed up for two more courses -- IV Skills Workshop (includes 3 live insertions) and the PHTLS course they offer monthly. I've renewed my CPR with the skills-only testing three times now, and wouldn't go anywhere else. Having kept current in CPR for two decades, I still find it uncomfortable getting all dramatic with the mannequins in front of strangers, but these instructors somehow make it okay! Further, I've felt more confident in my ability to actually do this if needed since going to this facility--they streamline the information to make it stick. Let me start by saying that I have taken both the BLS course and ACLS full course with Express Training Solutions, and I was very impressed with both! I was very nervous about taking ACLS for the first time. I really wanted to do well and pass! Well Jason was our instructor and he made that happen; he is an ICU RN and he knows his stuff. I was putting off taking my BLS class till the last minute. I was about to just take an online class which was cheaper than paying for this course. I am glad I didn't. This was the best course I have ever taken to get my BLS card. Peter was our instructor and he was awesome! I also got 4 CEU credits for taking the class. Who wants to spend 4 hours on a Saturday taking a class, no one, but this class went by fast and it was the best! You get your card the same day after the class. I'm glad I chose this place! I renewed my BLS at Express Training Solutions yesterday. I was able to schedule online with very short notice -- less than 24 hours. I did the written portion online and only went to the classroom for the skills portion which was a huge time saver. Dave was our instructor -- he did a fantastic job. Not only is he thorough and patient, making sure we were comfortable the entire process, he explained the rationale and real world applications of the BLS process. Loved it. I usually dread renewing my certs, but express training solutions makes it much more bearable! So far I've done my BLS and ACLS renewals here and will definitely keep coming back. The instructors are engaging, experienced (many with RN backgrounds), and have a great sense of humor! This place is great for ACLS renewal. Their website is easy to use, the facilities are professional and clean, and it's easy to find. But what really sets it apart is the knowledge and teaching skills of the instructors (or at least the instructor I was assigned that day). Ben knew his craft, and you could tell by the way he adapted the material to make us medical pro's from different levels understand it. In my class there were a few EMTs (including me), a CNA, and an NP and I feel like we were challenged but at the end we were comfortable with the material. I did my renewal back in April and a few months later (when I needed it) I realized I lost the CEUs certificate, so I called them late in the afternoon and left a voicemail explaining the situation in hopes that they could print out another one so I could pick it up, but not really expecting a response anytime soon. To my surprise I got a call the very next morning and they were able to email me my cert. These guys are great and I'm definitely using their services in the future, especially because they give you a discount if you've taken a class with them before. read more

Took the BLS class yesterday. Have been to many classes of this type and expected ho hum dull. Class size was small so we had plenty of 1 to 1 discussions. I've done my ACLS and PALS renewals here twice now and have great experiences both times. Reasonably priced, nice facility (mission valley), and great instructors that are not boring and keep things efficient while making sure you feel comfortable with the skills and ready to save lives! The ACLS renewal took 5.5 hours with 6 ppl in the class. You can also combine the BLS if you want to add an extra 30 min. There is also a 10-20% off deal usually going on if you use a promo code. So, I had reserved a seat in a CPR class with another company (initials are S.T.A.R.). I was not able to contact anyone on the phone, so I went to their office which was supposed to be open at 8:30a.m. m-f. I had to get this class done, so I went to the office to try to register and pay in person. Here it was, 9 a.m. on Friday, and nobody in the office. Waited till 9:30, called, no answer and still nobody in office. Waited some more...9:50... Still nobody, and no answer, and by this point I was pretty frustrated. How can a business run if nobody works? So....I found out that just down the street was another training office which at first I thought was an extension of the company, but in reality it was its own company called "Express Training Solutions." Upon entering I met David at the front desk. He understood my frustration with not being able to reach anyone from the other facility, and instantly assisted me with registering for a class with them later that day. I returned a few minutes before class, was greeted again by David and met our instructor for the evening class Chris, who I learned is a fellow Vet and a former corpsman. Being a former Marine, it made me comfortable that he knew what he was talking about. But, even if you didn't know he had that background, you would know he knew what he was talking about. Very easy to understand, and humble with his teaching approach. He also was honest enough to say when he didn't have an answer to my question, but immediately found the answer during one of the videos. (Don't let this throw you off though...he knows his stuff...it was an uncommon question and he knows the answer for the next time). The material is clear, and the testing is done in a manner that as long as you put forth the effort and listen to what he tells you, you will not fail. I recommend that anyone either receiving their first certification or renewing a prior one, ONLY go to Express Training Solutions in Mission Valley. I may even make the trip down from North CA in 2 years to renew mine. Btw....the other company called me back about 10:45 a.m., over 2 hours past when they should have been open. Learning was so easy when you are having fun, both the BLS (Chris) and ACLS (Peter) instructors are nice and friendly. I did my BLS couple of months ago and came in again for my ACLS last week, and I was really scared at first but Peter make sure that there's nothing to be scared about regarding the ACLS megacode, their teaching techniques are very simple and yet effective.
