We had Exteriors-R-Us paint a bedroom and bathroom last year and they just wrapped up painting our full cedar house and deck, along with replacing some rotted boards, and adding outdoor electric. Cannot day enough good things about this company. They transformed our haunted "Munster" house into a Fixer Upper dream! My husband is super picky and they made sure every detail was spot on for him. Their price was also very reasonable compared to the other places we shopped, and if they can't do the job themselves, they'll help you find a great subcontractor. This company does the worst work, does not finish their work and are dishonest.. Many areas of the house were not covered with paint. They removed many items on the house for the painting and never reinstalled. Moved patio furniture, railings, and never replaced it. Gutter were removed and never installed back properly. They put a ladder on my hot tub to paint the house and broke my hot tub cover. They were to match trim and in does not match. They made excused why it happened. They did not sand to remove cracks on my front door and said that was the best they can do, but the agreement was to remove the cracks. They said they would fix everything but never returned to do the work and sent emails and messages, and will not answer the phone. They overcharged me by 50% because they said had to do more than they agreed to. I never agreed to the extras. They are dishonestly. They said they had my new front door purchased and painted. They never bought the door and installed it after two weeks. They said it was bad weather. Then I realized they never bought the door. This went on for weeks. The company owner is very rude.,'uses names he should should not call customers. I'm a resident of Chicago West IL where the project was located.. Need to update my review... I just received an estimate from this company for painting my fence. I had assumed that they did not come to the house to view the job and give me a quote, as I never received a notice or business card drop on the day we scheduled the appointment for. I had asked for the estimate to be received right away because I needed to make a decision over the weekend. Fast forward nine days to today...an estimate was done and received via mail. The estimate I received today was comparable to other companies that I had quote the job. Unfortunately for Exterior-R-Us, they lost their chance of getting the job because of a slow turnaround time. Kristian, I wished you had listened to me as to when I needed the quote by and also notified me when you came to the house so I know you had been here. Just had my cedar house repainted and the company did exactly what they said they were going to do. Kristian came out twice, first to do an initial estimate and then to walk me through it and review the replacement boards that he was looking at. He gave options of trying to salvage some of the siding that wasn't in horrible shape, trying to save us money. They stuck to their estimate and even went above and beyond on some items that they didn't have in their quote. They were very transparent with their costs and they even came back to touch up a couple of areas to make sure everything was perfect. Kristian and his team did a great job on the exterior of my house. I met them a year ago when they did a neighbor's house and, after their very competitive bid, they were just great to deal with -- respectful, responsive, and very tidy in restoring the luster of the outside of my home. They used top product, too. Along the way, I had several additional asks -- to do the shutters, to paint around the window pains -- and they were eager and ready to make sure I was satisfied as a customer...and I was. I'm a picky painter as I regularly do my own inside painting, and Exteriors R Us rose to the occasion. It's great to support an upstart business run by young entrepreneurs -- and I was thrilled to do so. Kris came highly recommended from two neighbors for doing a great job on updating their exterior, especially related to their windows. I had a custom casement window with a rotted sash and brick mold and another window with a rotted sash. Replacing windows is an enormous expense and them to fit a custom opening can be even more limiting, so I sourced the work through carpenters that specialized in windows. One tried to help but didn't want to take on the repairs and couldn't find a replacement casement window that size, one was ridiculously expensive for repair and then Kris's team (who were worth waiting for) came along and did the custom repair at a very reasonable price. These guys are incredibly busy because they are good! The paint interiors, exteriors and do repair work on exterior trim, siding and windows. They are extremely professional, do a great job and work fast. I couldn't be more pleased! read more
