There has been a break in into my storage unit not even three months in!! My collections, belongings and all personal information have been taken from me. Not Safe here at all, no camera in sight. Don't trust this place at all. Many days my unit was open after the break in and I wasn't notified. These thieves had time to look through my belongings. Time to look else where! This place is just not worth it. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere with real security. If your gonna rent here install your own cameras they don't care. This place is a joke. read more

Ongoing Roach Infestation - No Resolution I rented a unit at Extra space storage at 1705 s state college blvd Anaheim, Ca 92806, in September 2025 and reported a roach infestation immediately. I was told an exterminator would come, but no follow-up was provided, and when I returned in October, the infestation was still present. I have contacted management and corporate multiple times without resolution. My unit is unusable and my belongings are at risk. I am requesting either transfer to a fully pest-free unit or full compensation. This issue is serious, and I hope Extra Space Storage addresses it promptly. read more

After looking at several (5)storage facilities that was way below par , I am SUPER HAPPY to finally find a CLEAN AND WELCOMING storage. As soon as I walked in my lungs where happy! ( other storage places I look at were very stinky and dirty- floors very dusty and gross- i can go on...) the manager at EXTRA STORAGE SPACE Austin, was such a delight! super friendly , very welcoming and clean cut!! I rented a unit and just a little over a month later it was broken into and half my stuff was stolen. When making the police report the officer said "This place sucks, we're here all the time" I also learned after this that my unit had no cameras on it. Be careful renting a space here. read more

They shaded me, after rent went up they kept charging me almost to $1,000 after I was trying to make payments but because of my condition which I was going through cancer plus going through chemo I had no choice but to move out, I have nobody to help except me and my 3 kids we were trying to move but Anthony and Austin were putting it off to take my belongings out, I had to call upper management but they don't give a shit about anything except money and that's all they care about! Never again here, I got sick over this and so many headaches & stress and worry which my doctors advised me not to do since my health is climbing high slowly but surely. Do not rent here. I got a 10X10 unit starting price at $120 on 8/2024 within 3 months they increase the rent by 100% with no notice. I called them and they aggreed to have me at $164 they raised my rent again in May to $250!!! This place is ridicolous and absurd they have no reasoning and no contracts it is month to month here! Save your money and go elsewhere best believe I'm moving out and taking my buisness elsewhere I work in customer service and take price in my customers but these people all they care about is increasing ur rent every 2-3months and they think it's okay because ur on a month to month basis. It is a brand new and clean facility. The indoor storage unit building is earthquake safe with 2 modern elevators at the entrance. The building was sufficiently air-conditioned, even on the hottest days in early September. The signup process was really fast and easy. read more

Not a safe storage facility in my opinion! Lots of shady people walking around that may be homeless or using drugs. Storage areas smell like drugs. Unit given to me was filthy and covered in bugs. I'll be looking at a newer and better managed facility. read more

They said they weren't renewing my lease and said I had a month to month lease so my last lease(?) was .. idk I'm sure they don't know either. Bait and switch pricing. My unit went up 25% after 2 months. Also the units are very small, the ceiling is extremely low like 6' 6", In fact i have never seen such a low ceiling in a storage facility. They may have the same square footage as the competition, but each unit has significantly less volume. If you plan to use shelves you may want to check it out before hand, my shelving from the last unit would hardly fit and I could not put anything on the top shelf. They should be discounted for their lack of height not a premium. I called the office and the employee was very nice and understanding. However, this apparently a corporate thing and their hands are tied. (ya right). Keep looking unless you want the headache of moving or budget to pay double. The policy is to raise your rates as soon as they can. They figure you will just pay rather than deal with the hassle of moving your stuff. They are not worth the hassles. read more

The facility smells and the climate control building can not handle the heat during summer time. I was requesting a refund because they put me in a drive thru unit and i requested climate control unit with the online specialist. I did not even move to the unit yet not even 24 hours and they said they can not refund the admin fee. Don't go to this location. I transfer to state college location it's clean and very nice people and Jennifer explain it very well. They will even show you your unit before you sign the lease and they are very professional and friendly. read more

I started renting with this location in June of 2023. What got my attention to rent with them was the first month free (which I never got). When I got in there I was paying about $160 per month and then a couple months later they bumped it up to $309 a month. Now they want to harass my phone when I'm a couple days late. They even tried to illegally automatically charge my card without my permission. Good thing I always lock my cards. So now I'm wondering if I should speak to a lawyer about this. They tried charging my card without my permission last month also. These are crooks working in that office. I will file a complaint with corporate first and see what they do. If nothing comes of it, I'll have to seriously consider lawyering up. It's illegal to charge someone's card without permission. You'd think a company like this was smart enough to know that but it looks like they aren't that bright. read more

Then within three months they more than DOUBLED my rent for a 10 x 5 unit from $72 to $158 per month! Horrible company to deal with during the COVID-19 outbreak, do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere for your storage needs. I lost my job in March and I've been dealing with my local office, they claim that they have no control or ability to work with me on a settlement to vacate or any other possible accommodations. Every other vendor I've dealt with from utilities to my landlord has been willing to work out a compromise. I've had to borrow from friends and family to pay the past due rent in order to prevent my items from going to auction. Apparently greed is the American way in times of crisis. read more

Prior to the buy-out (2012), rental increases were very rare. Now with Extra Space -- RENTAL INCREASES -- have happened to us 6 times in 3 years. YEARS!!! Unless you are desperate for storage, do not believe their "enticing" online specials will last. They increase rent just about every 4-6 months at this location.
