Would not recommend. Way to expensive to a point it's shocking how expensive this owner charges for making a simple custom cardboard box with no extras like hexa or foam. Just a cardboard box at 32" by 25" is $180. I just got back from the UPS store and they are charging me $30 a box which sounds more reasonable. Be considerate of your cost to your customers. read more

Many many sizes and shaped boxes, tape, bubble wrap, foam, paper, labels. Individual and bulk. They custom make boxes to fit art, electronics or whatever. They're the best people in business. It's owner operated. The owner of the business is a very nice person to work with, he always shares his experiences and offers help and provides advice on the best ways to ship an item. They didn't have the boxes I was looking for and he ordered them for me. I bought a roll of tape from him which I didn't like, I told him about it and he gave me another roll for free. They cater to the average Joe who wants to ship an item all the way to large businesses and their shipping needs. I've also bought moving boxes from them. My boss and a friend have used this company for years and I was pretty surprised that we have a company that makes custom server boxes in South OC. Anyways, I called ahead to make sure he had time to help me. Tarek is the owner and he was super nice. Both him and Juan helped me choose the right boxes and they cut foam to make the systems super snug. This is way better quality than what I have done on my own. Came here to have my packaged shipped and the owner told me that his ups driver is very picky and won't take my package because I used duck tape instead of shipping tape lol. Hexa is a good, small business, and they have quality materials and do quality work. Also the owner had been flexible with us in the past with regard to bulk shipping for my company. We had a long run and it all came to a head when one of the packages was damaged in transit. Unfortunately, the shipment was made and not insured! IF YOU WANT INSURANCE, ASK FOR IT. I was alarmed that the owner didn't even offer to add insurance, but he didn't and we ended up eating the damaged part. Ok, live and learn. Fast forward to the NEXT damaged shipment (mind you, the damage we don't think is solely falling on the packing here, as UPS is not blameless), and thankfully we did insure this package and we did get reimbursement from Hexa's own insurance company when UPS refused to cover the damages. But, when we went to send our customer a replacement item, we learned that Hexa would not honor a repack on the part and reship for us. Apparently WE NEEDED TO INSURE HIS BOX, TOO! Now, the boxes and shipping services we were buying from these folks are $200+ per shipment, and we were pre-paying for 5 at a time! So you can imagine our surprise when the owner not only refused to reship a replacement part to our customer in a new box without us paying again, but he literally blew up at me over the phone and refused to do business with us any more. Honestly, our part is a challenging one to ship, and the size is huge. He provides a good service for a reasonable cost...but you know what? It doesn't matter at all if there is a problem and they are going to blow up at you and throw your money back in your face. What an insult. I am giving 3 stars because it would be unfair to berate the company as they do a fine job overall...but don't get in too deep with this guy, and don't trust him to have your back and compromise when something bad happens. I needed to ship a sculpture that my daughter had made in high school to her at her college to enter into an art show. I was referred to Hexa by another shipper. I was REALLY impressed by how nice and knowledgeable they seemed to be. The owner showed me pictures of many things that they had shipped that were "more fragile" than mine. I paid over $200 to package and ship two sculptures (26 pounds, 2nd day air to Oregon). The package arrived on time, but unfortunately, the larger of the two sculptures was broken into three pieces. (I really wish I could attach a photo - it's pretty shocking!) I immediately emailed the owners (husband AND wife). Neither responded. When I called, all I got were excuses. Not ONE time did Tareks apologize. When I pointed out that the entire time that we had been on the phone all he had done was tell me what a good job they had done and that he hadn't bothered to apologize, he didn't say a word. I would NOT recommend using this company. For just a few more dollars than the price that I paid, my daughter could have flown home and picked up the sculptures. Instead, I was reassured by a good salesman who did not live up to his word and then didn't even apologize for his negligence. read more

This is not the place to go to if you want the best price for shipping and you want your items guaranteed or insured. I wasted money here, but eventually went to UPS and paid half the price and that included insurance that I did not have at Hexa Packaging & Supplies. Mom and Pop businesses have to charge more to survive. read more

Hexa was great from start to finish. They shipped a circa 1900 piano from LA to Washington State for us. The packaging was very well made and the piano arrived via UPS with no damage and ahead of schedule. Price was VERY reasonable for the amount of work to pick the piano up at the residence in LA, pack it & ship it. I would not hesitate to recommend Hexa for large item shipping. Thank you! read more

This company does not stand behind their packaging or the products that they use to pack expensive items. We were referred to this company by Safeway Moving to pack a very expensive sculpture. Valued at $15,000.00 At the time of packing the artwork they damaged two tiles on the piece and committing to fixing it at the time of unpacking and install at new property. The artwork was stored and than moved again to its final destination and when it was unpacked for install it was totally damaged and destroyed to the point of no repair. After many calls by myself and Safeway Moving to Tarek at Hexa we were told basically that he takes NO responsibility, has NO insurance to cover this and says its the moving companies problem. These people have no business being in business or packing anything for anyone. This will eventually happen again even if on their website they have a few testimonials from happy customers.
