We were quoted $3,400 for a one-day move with two large trucks and a four-man crew--based on an in-person walk-through. Instead, they showed up with one truck and only two movers, who then had to call their management for help. Later, a 3rd person arrived with a small truck. Because of the company's inadequate resources--not ours--the job dragged into a second day. When I was notified of this by management mid-move, I clearly stated that this was unacceptable and that no additional charges would be tolerated. At the end of Day 1, they charged us $5,300--nearly $2K over the estimate. On Day 2, the crew abandoned the job and left behind multiple clearly labeled items. We were forced to rent a U-Haul and finish the move ourselves--at our own expense. Then came the final blow: they charged our credit card an additional $1,300 without authorization, notice, or explanation. When we repeatedly contacted management to resolve the issue, they dismissed our concerns. Their only excuse? "The estimate was off." The gap between the estimate and the final price is staggering. Is this incompetence--or is it their business model? Two Men and A Truck overpromises, underdelivers, and then CHARGES YOU FOR THEIR MISTAKES. The move took 8.5 hours, bringing the total to $1,108.99 which we paid upon completion. That was AFTER the $200 we paid up front at the start of the move. But wait--there's more! The actual amount that appeared on my mom's credit card was $1275.34! I've called the Greensboro office several times (at least 4) trying to resolve this. Each time, whoever answers the phone tells me that they'll have the manager, Craig Wilkinson, call me back. He never has. I finally left my own message on his voice mail. Still no returned call.

One of our TVs was broken, cord missing from the other. They broke furniture and were very careless with our property. They would not use any protection for our floors when bringing in heavy items on a hand truck. Things that were wrapped and initialed, that was supposed to be unwrapped only in the presence of the owner, were unwrapped and placed in unknown places. The company refuses to deal with our losses. The workers were very disrespectful to us. I guess they thought since we were just 2 women, they could do what they wanted to, and treat us anyway. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They don't even deserve a one star rating.

This was the eighth time I have had to do an interstate move. They are a little more stressful than…read morea neighborhood move. You have to KNOW what you packed and you n what box. Even if you label things clearly there isn't a mover on the planet that will follow the directions. Your only hope is that they are professional, nice, and willing to follow your instructions. I lucked out with this move. First, and I am NOT one of those who gets hung up on an accent, but it does help a great deal when the movers can speak English. Do not hate on me. I have nothing against immigrants. The more the merrier. But when you are moving your personal items from one location to another it helps when they understand. The two guys that showed up for my move shocked me at first. They were the thinest movers I have ever seen. I found myself worried for them as I had a lot of heavy items. The phrase "don't judge a book..." was thrown in my face as they were very tough and strong. They moved with a balletic precision. One took the upstairs, the other the downstairs (I felt bad for the upstairs guy as that's where the lions share was). Within 2 hours, the mess that was my apartment was cleaned out of boxes and furniture. This didn't mean they weren't careful, they were that professional. In between trips we all joked around keeping it light. When we got to VA, they were very quick with unloading the truck. This however is where they lost a star. There was quite a lot of stuff they brought that I had put to the side as I didn't need it. Additionally, they didn't put one of the pieces of furniture together correctly or follow my instructions on how I wanted it. It was a tiring and confusing day. Additionally, they must have left one of my pictures on the truck as it's missing. Same with my microwave that I kept bringing up. Oh well. Each move presents it's challenges and expenses. Removed, so I'm putting my review back…read more Travis, Quan and Bruce The guys arrived 15 mins early and helped me pack 3 floors of "living" into a 26 foot truck. They also stopped on the way at a furniture store and picked up additional furniture. Drove to my new location and unloaded everything in less than 2 hours. Travis is an absolute professional and strategic in placing items in the truck to maximize usage. Bruce is a joy and charming as charming can be. Quan is an absolute gentleman and wrapped everything meticulously. These guys are awesome. I could not have made this move without them.

The crew basically shrugged and said "sorry" as they did not have tools on hand to pull and fix a stripped screw, leaving me SOL. This may have been a two-star event as the rest of the move was great. However, there were lighting fixtures lining the sidewalk that they pulled and after the fact, I noticed some of the stakes were broken. These were left piled up and not re-inserted in ground. The crew was definitely in a hurry to leave.

They were a coordinated team with a crew leader who was honest and quick to point out points of damage. (Thanks, Michael!) They moved our household contents as well as two home offices and a storage unit containing 50+ years of career detritus! Not only that, their estimate was the most realistic (not the lowest) we received (Thanks Barry!) All in all, we've moved 9 times and this was the biggest and the best move we've ever had!

Except... Then I got a 9:30 pm (Saturday) call telling me they couldn't fulfill "both portions" of my job. They had a crew, but no truck, so did I have a truck? Dude, who pays for a moving company if they have their own moving truck? Bizarre. And since it was 9:30 pm, I was in a pretty disadvantageous situation for any chance at completing my Sunday 3 pm move. (2 hour job of just a few pieces). The next day, bellhops called me again to tell me I was still on the schedule for two men and no truck. That's a hard pass. Just disjointed and unprofessionally handled. Tech is great when it works. Otherwise, you're not improving or disrupting anything. The dude who actually completed my move from another company didn't have fancy tech, but he and his guy AND TRUCK showed up on time and did great work. That's worth more than an app or gimmick. Hopefully Bellhops will tighten their process for reserving trucks and crews together, which is pretty much the point of professional movers. ‍
