I'm really glad I forgot to check yelp when booking our moving company last month (with the pandemic and everything I was more stressed than usual)--I can't believe this company has such a low rating! We have moved 8 times in 15 years, this was our 3rd out of state...by far this was the best experience we've ever had! The office was friendly and organized in setting it all up. The movers arrived on-time (we did our own packing). They worked steady and didn't chit-chat or take tons of breaks, it was awesome. On the un-load a few days later it was just as smooth--steady workers that got the job done carefully and on time. Nothing damaged or broken. My husband and I couldn't believe how well this went--the stories of terrible stuff movers have done to us would take all day! We also liked that they just packed and drove our stuff directly in the same trucks--other long distance movers transferred our belongings to a wearhouse then to a bigger transport truck then back to another smaller truck for unload (so ridiculous, and this is how stuff gets broken). I would recommend these guys to everyone! It erased every other crappy move experience we've had before! read more

I just really want to say how thankful we are with Kell and Angel for the great job they did for us on Saturday out of the Durham location ! I couldn't ever get the QR code to work but hope this finds it to their management team. My mother has moved out of state to be with more extended family for a better support system. My father passed away unexpectedly and suddenly in 2017 and as most can imagine, we really never recovered. It also caused everyone to procrastinate going into his shed where he had a workshop that he did excellent woodworking pieces, stocked his shop in fuquay with these items, and learned tricks of the trade from his father. This was email was his happy place. There was also a lawn shed and my mom's shed on site. - All were kept up nice from outside but 1000% full of my dads tool, pool accessories, lawn equipment to odds and ends for storage!! After my mom moved out of state, a little in a quick manor, especially when it was to hard to kind of open Pandora's box of mixed emotions... the sheds stayed closed for others to handle on her behalf once she was gone. Fast forward several months after she left ( I think many can relate) it was starting to affect the sell of the house. I reached out to this company, received the quickest response and truly picked my day and time. Communicating. Expecting to just get a quote and hear something in a few days, Kell said oh no, if you are good with quote, we can come back if you prefer or we can get started now. Both Kell and angel were kind, respectful of the situation, and moved fast and methodical. They gave so many options for payment to make sure it was as stress free for my mom who is out of state as possible. We knew it was going to be a lot, but they didn't even show the slightest bit of annoyance for the mess. They answered any questions right away, carried everything with care and nothing was thrown away. Knowing that these items would get a chance to be sold or giving or used by others that my dad worked so hard for and not just wasted and rot in a landfill made me smile knowing my dad would be so pleased. Kell said we just need 1.5-2 hours max. At 2 hours and 10 minutes, this huge truck was busting at the seams!! Like i said, 2 sheds were empty, the 3rd had probably about a little less than 1/2 of the super bulky and heavy items. What was left is super easy for us to finish up and feels doable. AVOID THIS COMPANY OR IT WILL COST YOU! What should have been a straightforward one-day move turned into an absolute nightmare of broken promises, surprise charges, and a stunning lack of accountability. We were quoted $3,400 for a one-day move with two large trucks and a four-man crew--based on an in-person walk-through. Instead, they showed up with one truck and only two movers, who then had to call their management for help. Later, a 3rd person arrived with a small truck. Because of the company's inadequate resources--not ours--the job dragged into a second day. When I was notified of this by management mid-move, I clearly stated that this was unacceptable and that no additional charges would be tolerated. At the end of Day 1, they charged us $5,300--nearly $2K over the estimate. On Day 2, the crew abandoned the job and left behind multiple clearly labeled items. We were forced to rent a U-Haul and finish the move ourselves--at our own expense. Then came the final blow: they charged our credit card an additional $1,300 without authorization, notice, or explanation. When we repeatedly contacted management to resolve the issue, they dismissed our concerns. Their only excuse? "The estimate was off." The gap between the estimate and the final price is staggering. I worked for this company and was asked to charge customers OVER what they signed for on their contracts, without requiring a new contract and without approval (leaving a voice message is not approval). What I learned is NEVER GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD TO THIS COMPANY or limit the allowed charges to avoid a surprise. They also post misleading job descriptions that overstate earning potential and benefits. They don't even give the men raincoats. Lots of smokers work here and they leave butts everywhere including in the truck, which will bother many with sensitivities. Unhappy, unhealthy workers with poor gear and low pay will not translate to a great experience for anyone. read more

I moved from Durham to Morrisville on 1/17. I filed a claim in which my non lethal protection items were stolen. A police baton, mace + a case, and a flashlight that is 100,000 lumen (i.e., not cheap). I complained to the company and the supervisor talked to the crew and he was told something to the effect of "oh yes, I remember, we placed these items into the couch". Well, what a lie. The only reason they did this was to see if I would notice and then if not, continue with the theft. The company, rejected my claim based on the fact that I signed a pre and post walkthrough and that I found nothing left on the truck. YOU DON'T NOTICE THAT ANYTHING IS MISSING UNTIL YOU UNPACK the boxes! I paid for the extra insurance which is a ripoff for items that are stolen. I will be taking this company to small claims court. If I could give this 0 stars, that still would be too many. I scheduled a move with Two Men and a Truck on 10/11/23 and the move went ok. As I have been unpacking I have been finding a number of damaged and broken items. I paid extra valuation (insurance coverage) for the potential of broken items being damaged vs the basic that they offer. I was sent the form and I sent it back with written description and pictures via email on 11/17. I have emailed 5 times to three team members with absolutely no response, have called the company 6-7 times with either no response/pickup or was told a manager would call me back and she most certainly has not. Please do not do business with this company as they can take your payments quickly but have not been responsible and pleasant on the reimbursement end. The customer service and lack of communication is just awful. I am tired of chasing people around for what is rightfully mine. If no one calls back soon I will seek to get the full amt from the move back from my credit card company. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I used them for a very simple move, just a couple pieces of furniture across town (approx. 5 miles). My desk had a leg ripped off before it was even put on the truck. I put in a claim and they offered me ~$31(basic claim valuation is $0.60 per lb of the object) for a desk that cost $170 to replace. There were no sharp corners, narrow doorways, anything. There was no reason for the desk to be broken except for their incompetence and therefore I think they should have fixed or replaced it. I share my review in hopes it helps others in making an informed moving decision. We moved overseas and had to have the contents of our home placed in long term storage in Durham, NC. We hired Two Men and A Truck in the Durham, North Carolina Office to move our furnishings to the long term storage facility. Over our lives we have moved 4 other times. But our first with this firm. Our experience this time appears to differ from many of the reviewers. From the initial estimate, to the workers to management I have not experienced such a poorly run organization and low level of service. *The move was mis-estimated for one truck, mid move they realized they needed a second truck. *The moving crew was short staffed combined with the mis-estimate required the movers to work a 15 hour day to complete the local move. They were tried and the quality of their work suffered because of it (and us to oversee for hours ) *During the move, our belonging were routinely dropped. I observed workers throwing items down the steps in my home. * Despite our requests to be careful, it persisted. *Most of the workers appeared untrained and were careless and unfamiliar with good moving practices. *Because the move was to a long-term storage and was not unpacked immediately, the damages to our furnishing were never reimbursed and the local management was unwilling to take responsibility for damages of careless and unprofessional staff. *The initial final bill was fraught with errors. And if you do hire them, do not sign the post inspection acceptance form. It's nearly impossible after a long day of move supervision to know if packed furnishings are damaged. We live in SC and needed a moving company to move furniture (1/2 a living room) and boxes (&15) from Croasdaile Retirement Community to Hillsborough Road storage facility. We made arrangements with Two Men & a Truck to arrive Tuesday, December 19th to come between 9-10 AM. We came to Durham on Monday staying in a hotel to facilitate this move. Two Men & A Truck called on Tuesday morning @ 9:30 to inform us the people doing the move called out. They'd get someone to @ 12:00 and would bring 3 men!! Unfortunately, only 2 men showed up at 1. My husband had to help to keep things moving. We're talking: sofa, 2 dressers, curio cabinet, trunk, dining chairs (no table), 15 boxes. We had removed glass shelves & boxed them up. They sent four men, including two in training, meaning more tip money than I planned. They acted on their own to place and set up things with little regard for instructions. They built a bed inches away from the front of a large, heavy dresser so that drawers couldn't be opened and I had to hire someone else to rebuild the bed and move the chest of drawers. The treated my furniture roughly, damaging several pieces and were more worried about packing faster than they were about packing right. The operations people I had to deal with about the damage lied, procrastinated, and changed the terms of the moving contract without my agreement. We recently had a short in-town house move. We moved most of our stuff ahead and let Two Men and a Truck take all our heavy furniture and remove some items we wanted to dispose of. They give an estimate based on how much time they think it will take to move your stuff. It was about what we expected as far as pricing. We were pleased that when they went faster they adjusted the cost. They wrapped all our furniture with blankets and plastic wrap - even the items to be disposed of. They were super careful with everything. We had just had our wood floors refinished so they put down covers to make sure nothing got scratched. Everyone was very friendly and efficient. read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I booked Two Men and a Truck for a move from Durham to Boston. I had used Two Men and a Truck in Chicago and had an excellent experience. The movers arrived reeking of weed. They packed and loaded quickly. As they began to unload, it became clear that items were not wrapped well--a table leg was almost ripped off an end table, a bed frame was dented, a dresser edge was gashed. The movers packed items in drawers which we had been instructed to empty, resulting it ripped papers and and items strewn about. When we opened a wardrobe box that had been packed with hanging clothes from a closet, the clothing was dumped in the bottom of the box with shoes ON TOP. Glassware was packed in some sort of tissue paper rather than proper mover's paper, and there was no padding in the bottom of the box. When I called the Ops department immediately after the move, I was given a very understanding response that "they would make it right." That has ended up being $280, $150 of which reimburses my out of pocket for dry cleaning. I asked to be reimbursed for the the mover's paper I paid for but was not. I also took issue with the fact that the ultimate weight of the load was half of the estimate, but only resulted in a $165 reduction of cost. I have had student movers do a better job than this. They didn't laugh or brush me off when I called asking if they were available on short notice, and were able to meet our timeframe! The movers were extremely careful with the furniture, some of which was quite heavy and/or delicate. We paid an hourly rate and they were very efficient even with the high level of care taken. Took $984.00 out of my bank account $656 deposit and $328 for hours they said they worked. They were suppose to move my elderly mother from her home for funiture, and around 40 crates of items that she would no longer use. Everything else was to be utilized for everyday living. until the end of the month when she would be fully moved out was to stay as she was going to occupy her home until the end of November. I contracted them to move her stuff and then stop by my Apartment Garage and move funiture out of it. They could perform initial move on November 5 as items were still in the funiure and rescheduled for November 12. When they arrived on November 12 it was another story they still were not willing to move anything unless everything was packed. Again she was staying in home to November 30 so i only needed funutire and items we put into crates (40 of them) moved . They were they for 15 minutes on November 5 and then 12 minutes on November 12 per the ring doorbell video. Tried to work out with local management a solution even to do it at end of month wanted to charge another deposit in addition wanted to keep the $984. Disputed with bank as they obtained property under false pretense as they never performed any work at all and they were the ones not willing to do any work. I got ghosted for. days until i finally said i would go to attorney general office and news stations. I would avoid doing business with this company for deceptive trade practices which is sad as i had no issues with them on the move i did two years back. They refused to take any responsibility for anything on the phone, never called me back when they said they would, and eventually stopped returning my calls and emails altogether. Details: I hired Two Men and a Truck to pack my house and move my family from 5103 Middleton Rd in Durham, NC to 3424 Sheridan Dr. When I spoke to their salesperson, I said "I want to have to do as little as possible. I want you to pack and move everything." They were supposed to pack the entire house on 5/26 and move us on 5/27. On 5/26 they did not pack the entire house: * The kitchen was only partially packed * The master bedroom, master bathroom, and garage were not packed at all * No framed wall art was packed (paintings, photos) Additionally: * They scratched up the newly-refinished floors of my new home * They left a stack of boxes at my old home that I had to then deal with The employee in charge told me that everything remaining would be packed the following morning, including the wall art. The next morning, the movers arrived and said they were not supposed to pack anything, and they objected to moving the items that hadn't been packed. I insisted that my agreement with Two Men was for them to pack and move everything. The employee in charged called his manager and was instructed to pack everything left, which the movers did. The movers complained about having to do this work, even saying that the manager who was on site on 5/26 should get fired. This reflects that the packers did an extremely poor job. This was because a) the packers didn't finish b) what they did pack was labeled poorly or not at all c) they packed poorly by for example using large boxes to pack books, making the boxes extremely heavy to carry. On 5/30 I received an email receipt for the packing and a receipt for the move. I never saw paperwork listing the packing expenses, and I never signed a document on the final expenses. I should not be charged without being provided with an itemized list of what I'm being charged for. On 5/30 I called Two Men at 1:30pm and described the issues to a manager. The manager said he would call me back later that day, but did not. I called their office again at 6pm and was told the manager was out of the office (the Two Men web site lists their office hours at 9am-6:30pm.) I was told that the manager would call me on 5/31, but I did not received a call. On 5/27, the movers damaged a reptile terrarium and we had to repair it. Lastly, on 5/26 the head employee doing the packing (Patrick) was rude and unprofessional. The Two Men web site says, "We take pride in our professionalism" and "we aim to treat each and every customer just as we would treat our own grandmothers." It also mentions "Making your home move stress-free" and "superior customer service." I hired them to live up to these standards, and they did not. They continue to not live up to these standards by failing to return my phone calls. On 6/1/17 Vince finally called, but he would not take responsibility for any of the mistakes Two Men made. Instead of saying "We miscommunicated with each other on our end" he said "There was miscommunication," implying that I didn't communicate what I wanted. For example, he said the packers weren't clear on what was to be packed. I told him I could send him the estimate showing that the whole house should get packed. And besides, who would *ever* want to pack only half a kitchen or half a garage? He would say things like "Well we can't go back in time and change anything." instead of employing the advanced customer service technique of apologizing. Vince also did not apologize for not calling when he said he would. Vince could give a master class in dodging responsibility and implying that the customer is at fault. We had a terrible experience with this company. Expensive items broken, lost, furniture dumped in bedrooms and not put together. We didn't get an expensive table they'd broken returned or any response to the claims we'd submitted until we went to the state regulator. And even though it cost us $600 to get our furniture put back together and the table they broke repaired, not to mention the items that are irretrievably damaged, they only compensated us $125 seven weeks later. read more

I believed I was getting a good deal in regards to the pricing of the move and their availability, but the lack of quality and caring for others property and time was apparent. To sum it up, they attempted to show up at a wrong time slot after confirming my request twice before the move. When I told them that I needed the time that was previously confirmed, they said they "don't know if they'll be able to do my move then." It took a few hours to clear everything up, but they finally arrived late in the day. The move was late in the evening, so the next day I went to the old location to do a walk through, and the door to the apartment was left wide open with all the lights on, multiple items where not moved, and the movers left their trash and drinks in the fridge. During the unpacking process, I found multiple broken items and realized that I was missing my office chair. I contacted the company and placed a claim. Just found out I'm getting a whole $23 dollars for my lost/damaged property. Use a different moving company. read more

The movers LOST a coffee table (probably last piece at the back of the truck). Should have been an easy issue to solve, I notified dispatch within minutes of movers leaving. Problem arose when they failed to respond to their dispatch despite finishing with us early (ie. didn't want to interrupt their break). By the time they responded it was already in the middle of their next job and too late, table was gone. Claims manager then denied my claim because I signed off at the end of my move - my mistake. Apparently should have walked through the house and the truck - though was not instructed to do that. Further upset me that basically everyone I spoke to would have known that after movers leaving (because I signed that paper) that I would have no recourse. Instead they falsely suggested I should make a claim knowing the likely result. After an hour of arguing on the phone, she gave me $25 as a "courtesy", still refusing to take any responsibility. Don't be fooled by the booking process - super professional, they will follow up with you until they get your business. However the people who actually matter - the movers - failed to inspire me with confidence, insinuated they would waive some mysterious fee if we gave them a good tip (which in fact I did to be nice, and before realizing what had happened!). I was holding my breath the whole time (both figuratively and literally because they kept removing their masks). We are very cautious about COVID- always wear masks, I've had both vaccines and my husband has one. We have zero symptoms. Though we are moving, which is why we contacted a moving company, they wouldn't service us because we had "admitted" to travelling between states (in our car) unless we stayed in NC for 14 days. The current epidemiology for COVID is actually worse in NC than in the state we travelled to.... we certainly understand caution during COVID, but should be built upon facts and science not an outdated policy businesses used in the spring and no longer is (for good reason) read more

"Two Men and a Truck". I thought it was a catchy name of a business; little did I know that title was meant to be taken literally. The name is accurate to the experience you should expect. They were an unprofessional moving company with no accountability nor customer service. Lesson learned. First, we scheduled our appointment for 12 PM, which they changed to 2-5 PM for a 2 BR move. I called two days prior and they assured "the job will be done that day no matter what" and "they would send another crew if the first was running late". Well, they ran late and didn't arrive until 6:30 PM, reeking of weed (which whatever because they just got back from dinner). My problem was that instead of 3 guys moving our stuff, two guys sat in the truck smoking weed while the new guy moved my stuff by himself until ~9:30 PM. Then they got into a shouting match in my living room with each other because the new guy was tired of doing it all himself and wanted to go home. So now, at 9:30 PM, the other guys decide to help and we are on our way at 10:30 PM. We get to the final location and I have 3-5 items that I would like put up and the rest thrown in the garage, because I have a pregnant wife and she cant help me get a 100 lb couch up the stairs. Big mistake. The gouges in the walls were an inch deep. So, nothing else got put up. Thankfully, it was over right? Nope. Since they didn't finish unloading until near midnight and the truck has no light, they didn't unload a side rail for my $1400 bed frame/headboard. That's fine, its on the truck, I'll call back and they will get it to me. NOPE - it disappeared (in the trash I assume). Fine, I will file a claim and they will understand. NOPE - they offered me $25. Now I am sleeping on a mattress on the floor with most of the pieces to a $1400 frame that can't be put together. MORAL: Don't expect anything other than Two Men and a Truck, because that's all you're going to get. PS - I forgot to mention that they didn't even move everything the first day. They sent another crew the following day, only after I called and complained that the job was not completed. read more

We used Two Men and a Truck to move from Chapel Hill to Boston. They also helped pack most of our stuff. The crew was friendly and fast (they worked for 7 hours straight without so much as a lunch break when unloading), and not a single item was damaged. I'm not sure why their rating is so low on Yelp, but their Google reviews are much better. They were slightly more expensive than other movers we contacted, but the big advantage was that they drove our stuff directly to our new address in less than 48 hours. I should of known the shady people I was dealing with when they showed up reeking of Marijuana from the truck to my doorstep. Then misinformed me of the documents I was signing. They denied our claim for damage I watched them cause. The fridge and floor were the only things reported as I watched them destroy both myself. I didn't report the fact they scrapped about every wall they went past. Then they couldn't even get our bed to the bedroom. Then they had the audacity to give me a card to hire them privately to move the bed where it needed to be. They also didn't even move a bookcase I pointed out them twice. My moving crew just finished loading the truck, & I can hardly wait to post their review. They arrived on time, introduced themselves by name & walked through the house with me to make sure they knew what my needs & expectations were. They were polite, efficient, & careful with my things. They didn't seem to rush, but still finished well before the estimated time, saving me over $100! The company is storing my items until my move in in a few days & then unloading at my new house. I HOPE I have the same crew, because they were great!!! I admit I was a bit worried because I had ordered boxes from TMAAT a few weeks ago & they weren't delivered when they were promised. I had arranged my work schedule accordingly, but had to call after my delivery window had passed. It seems as though they forgot about me, because it was over an hour before the boxes arrived. This is the only reason I'm not giving five stars. The moving out day & team definitely gets five stars!!!! Move in Update: I moved into my new home on 7/21/17. When I made the reservation, I let them know I was closing in the morning & would need an afternoon appointment. On my way to my closing (9:30am), the moving crew called to say they were at my new house! Thankfully they said they'd come back later. I was glad to see it was the same crew who moved me out so beautifully. However, soon after they began one of the guys asked me for a utility knife. I thought it was unprofessional of them not to each have a knife when part of their job is removing the plastic wrap they use on the furniture, but I loaned him my utility knife to use. They finished in quick time. They did break one mirror, but came & told me about it & assured me someone would be out within two business days to assess the damage & either replace it or pay me for the item. I was fine with that. They finished up (they were not unpacking for me) I tipped them VERY, VERY well, & they left. A few minutes later I realized they had left with my knife! I texted the crew lead & he said he didn't have it. I told him one of the other two guys had it & he said he had already called & left him a message about it. Five days have now gone by & they're not responding to me, nor has anyone come back to return my knife, nor has anyone contacted me about my damaged mirror! I know it's just a utility knife, but it has sentimental value for me. I've had it a long time & used it on projects that mean a lot to me. Besides that. . . it's my knife! I used Two Men and a Truck to move this past weekend from Durham to the Brier Creek area in Raleigh. I contacted them via phone about 3 weeks prior to my move and set up an appointment. They provided me with an estimate for the time it would take to complete my move and the approximate cost. A week out they called to reconfirm the appointment. Long story short: they were easy to communicate with, worked around my schedule, arrived precisely when they said they would, packed and protected all of my furniture, worked quickly, and actually finished ahead of schedule. I'm not sure about the experience of other reviewers here but mine was 100% positive and I would use them again as well as recommend them to anyone else. read more

Although the crew were nice, they damaged many of our items. The damage claim process is terrible. If you need inexpensive movers, you should factor in the cost of the items you'll need to replace/repair. read more

They were hired to move the contents of a small apartment about 1 mile. They destroyed a 55 inch TV and offered $50. If they can't be trusted to move a TV one mile, what can they be trusted to move? Look elsewhere and save yourself a lot of aggravation. read more

I used Two Men and a Truck to move out of Durham because they were slightly cheaper than Bell Hops. That was a very costly mistake for me. The movers showed up two hours late. Had a move and delivery performed on March 7th 2020, with a team of three, Khalil (Team Leader), Elton, and another guy that I can't remember his name. Problems with the service: -Delivered over 50% of our items in the wrong location. [Backstory] At the beginning, they were very courteous and respectful. Khalil went over paperwork with me and had me check off all of the inspection paperwork. The packing and loading went well. No complaints. Fast forward to the delivery and unloading... while I was there, I had no issues as I was directing them to the rooms. I got pulled away from my house for a bit and left them with my wife and little one. Apparently while I was gone, the team stopped checking in with my wife and proceeded to roll all of our boxes around our house into our basement. Only certain boxes were to be put down there, which most were either labeled or had the picture on the box. When I got back home, the team was wrapping up, I took back over and didn't think twice about the placement of our items because I assumed that the labels and my wife being here to tell them would suffice. After they had left, I then discovered that all of our boxes were in the basement. Things clearly labeled, i.e. 'Kitchen', "Living Room', "Baby Room', etc. All in all this resulted in me spending two hours tracking all of the boxes back upstairs to the second and third floors. I attempted to call the office, left a voicemail for someone to call me back, but I haven't received a call yet. [Result] In hindsight, I take responsibility for checking off the inspection box so early in the process and assuming that everything was properly loaded as they had done such a great job of placing everything were it should be while I was home. My wife was also there (and easily accessible) the entire time, so it is not like they didn't have anyone to ask if they weren't sure where something needed to go. However, I know how these things work, and once you check off the box, you are basically signing over your complaint rights, which is the only reason why I am not giving them a one star. At the end of the day, our stuff was moved to our new house, but the lack of professionalism and trust from the two men and a trucks team is what severely inconvenienced us with this move. People using this service should not have to supervise the movers every step of the way and I would think that people would have the common decency to do the right thing...especially when its the service that you provide. As my payment of $1,325 has already been made, and I am sure that I am not getting a call back, hopefully this helps someone else turn the other way and choose another company. I will never recommend two men and a truck to anyone who ask. If you are considering this and have made it to the end of this review....Please take my advice, DO NOT sign any inspection paperwork, be sure to do a post inspection with the guys before they leave, and just simply choose another company. read more

At some point during the move, something happened to my dryer. It is a fairly new dryer, around 2-3 years old, but after hte move it will no longer produce heat. After giving me the run around for over a week, they finally emailed me back to tell me that they will not fix my dryer because the movers did not cause physical damage and I signed a waiver. I have a screenshot of the email but can't upload it here. The customer service with these people is very cold. There was not concern or urgency about our dryer after they broke it. Book at your own risk! Last summer they cancelled on me the morning of my move because they didn't have any movers. They didn't even offer me a discount for the inconvenience (I took the day off work just to be able to do this). Ended up being able to get same day appointment with another company but had to pay more because it was so last minute. read more

I wasn't happy about moving during a global pandemic, but thought Two Men and a Truck would be safer since they promised all their movers would be wearing masks and gloves (they changed extra for this). I was disappointed to find none of them were in masks/gloves or any PPE at all. Where to begin... I hired "Two Men and a Truck" to move my furniture and clothes from a house to a storage unit. I am a single guy and only had one sectional couch then boxes of clothes but everything was already in boxes and not very much stuff at all. The movers arrived and started to load things up starting at 1:20PM. Loading things from the house to the truck went relatively smooth, then the problems began. While in the truck they broke a very expensive lamp bowl and I was told that since the manager "Bryce" was there with this crew, I would be taken care of and that "I should not write it down as a claim because I would only get .40$ per pound". This is what I was told by the lead mover of this crew who I believe is named Troy and that this was a new crew so the manager Bryce was there to make sure things went smoothly. After they left my house with all of my belongings, the lead mover (Troy) told me that they were going to stop by a gas station to get some gatorades and would be right behind me on the way to the storage unit which is about 20-25 minutes away. We left my house at 2:15 and I headed to the storage unit, arriving at 2:40PM. After sitting there waiting for about 20 minutes, I get a text from Troy telling me that they had went to the wrong address and they were on the way and would be there in about 40 minutes. It only took me 25 minutes to get from the house to the storage unit so how are they 40 minutes away?? I sat at the storage unit waiting for an hour without anyone showing up so I decided to call corporate and see what was going on. Turns out, Troy and his crew decided to go through the McDonalds drive-thru, in a big truck, while on my dime. I am not paying for them to have lunch. While they were eating lunch or going through the McDonalds, they rear ended another car and had to wait for the police to arrive to file a report. They did not inform me of this and every time I would text Troy to ask about an ETA, he would say that he was on the way every time. So first they broke a lamp and did not compensate me for this, then they went and ate lunch on my dime, and lied to me about being on the way. It can't get any worse right? Wrong! They finally arrive to the storage unit after two hours of me waiting and they unload everything in about 20 minutes. If you take into account the time it took to load up the truck, the 25 minute drive to the unit, and the 20 minutes to unload; this equals an hour and 45 minutes - two hours MAX! I was charged for 3 hours of work. After complaining to Mary at Corporate, she told me that they would waive the service fee of 140$ which does not cover the hell I had to go through just to have my stuff moved from point A to B. They charged me $320 plus the $100 fee to reserve the moving services. This equals to $420 which is ridiculous for a maximum of two hours work and a broken lamp. I called Mary again earlier this week to request a change in price which she said she would adjust and also send me an email to file a claim for the lamp, neither of these things have happened. This company will lie to you and tell you they will make it right but then never follow through with any of the things they say they will do. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and also filing a dispute with my credit card unless I am taken care of this week. For a job that is so simple as moving stuff into a storage unit, this company is not the one to go to. read more
