Arrived to clean out the storage, and guess what little critters we found all over the belongings: -CockRoaches (The Store Associate claims they were waterbugs but they weren't, and we have photos and videos.) -Centipedes -Spiders -More CockRoaches, Upon More CockRoaches! -and even a SCORPION! ---PHOTOS AND VIDEOS WERE TAKEN: There were two cracks at the bottom right-hand side of the foundation where light was shining through. A full-size creek resides on the other side of that concrete wall. We had to kill some of the critters ourselves to see what was salvageable; most of them scattered out the door, or back underneath the wall. Who wants to bring that type of stuff into a new home? The store associate, Amy, recommended contacting upper management, and said try to file an insurance claim. I know she's only doing her job, but, wow, management trained her to be so helpful! What an utter complete failure on upper management, the owner, and the company as a whole. Amy did what she could, however, so it's nothing personal against her. You know what BUGS me, nonetheless, that this company doesn't have an immediate procedure in place for clients who experience this type of issue! That's the type of help I was expecting from Amy, but upper management failed myself, and Amy, as well! Incompetent, this company is, for lack of better word. How frustrating! The worth of valuables thrown away! What a waste! Jim, we will be in contact with corporate headquaters for reimbursement of the belongings, along with storage fees that were paid, as well. Had an excellent experience at Extra Space in Coppell. Management and staff were very friendly and helpful and help us pick the perfect size to store our vehicle until we could sell it. The one star is for Amy helping me get down the box and killing one roach when it came out. I had a storage with you extra space space storage, just recently canceled yesterday on Saturday, June 15, 2019. As I arrive to do a little cleaning around 10:00 am. As soon as I open my storage, there was a roach on top of one of my boxes. Or according to the Store Manager "Amy". "A water bug", that I don't have to worry about. She states and I quote. "They're not going to get into your boxes and lay eggs. They're just ugly. I've only seen 1 or 2 through the entire property every year. And I've been here six years." Fast forward to around 2 hours later, I opened one of the boxes, the store manager help me get down. Two more roaches came running out. She said and I quote. "It's because you have kitchen packets." So she blames me for finding two more roaches in my boxes. Boxes with decorations and pictures in it. Fast forward to 3 o'clock. My boyfriend came to help me clean out the entire storage. As we feared cleaning out the storage, we discovered, and opening on the side of the wall, a scorpion, centipedes, spiders, more roaches. Keep in mind, I had my couch, queen size mattress which was covered, chairs, pictures, clothes, kitchen set, and more. My entire apartment was in that storage, in which I had to throw all of it away. Why would I take roach, scorpion, spider etc into my new home. As stated by the manager. "Some of your stuff is still good, just sell it on offer up." Excuse me, I didn't want to sell anything. And, why in God's name would I sell a mattress or a couch or pictures, chairs to someone, when knowing the entire bug kingdom been on it. That's completely disgusting and morally wrong. I have pictures and videos of the entire day while at the storage discovery every bug found. I've tried contacting escalations and corporate and I don't get an answer. I've always called Brent Fleming, the property manager of that location. He didn't answer, but I left a lengthy voicemail. read more
