I have a laundry list of complaints to be submitted to corporate but for those of you trying to rent here, relevant information- - the remote access works about 10% of the time. I have been unable to enter the gate or the doors MOST of the time using remote. I have been stuck inside the gate a few times as well. - I haven't seen a moving cart in years - I went to my unit to find a bad smell and moved things around and found TWO DEAD MICE. my stuff had poop on it and had been chewed. I called the to office to tell them and the response was "ya... that happens a lot here". No offer to do anything about it. read more

Magically my space was not within camera distance, magically Extra Space would not move my spot without signing a new agreement at a different price. This warehouse is NOT locked.. anyone that wants to hop the fence can peruse all the units, at their leisure. DO NOT RENT HERE. 1975 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX My unit was broken into and I got a call at the end of the day even though the girl at the desk was given made aware of damaged doors when she arrived that morning. By the time I was called, I was told that my door was damaged. I asked if it was broken into and she said she didn't know. When I arrived, they had fixed the door and put their lock on it. I opened it and my things were stolen. The worker could only say that the maintenance man found it open that morning. They didn't call the police to report it. Someone else's suitcase was inside. And bc the manager was off, she wasn't available for another 2 days. I called the police to make a report and they told me that they are there often for break ins. When I 1st came, I was shown all the security cameras but as the other reviews, mine was not in camera view. The cameras only view east to west not north to south so there are many blind spots. They said they cannot see anyone and the cameras DO NOT record! Doors are not secure and anyone can enter and exit freely. There is no real security at this space! It appears that this is an inside job. DON"T USE this facility!!!!! read more

Review concerning Extra Space Storage, 1975 W Northwest Hwy in Dallas: Someone attempted to steal my trailer within the last six weeks. I talked to a few of my "neighbors" that park near my trailer and they have had problems with break-ins. After discovering someone tried to steal my trailer I looked around for cameras. Didn't see any in my area except one that looks like it's from 1942. I was very upset so I went inside and spoke to a manager and reported the incident. I didn't see video from the camera that monitors my trailer on the display in the managers office. Perhaps it doesn't work? I am currently waiting for a call from a regional manager because this place needs a serious security upgrade. It's in a very bad area of town and I'm surprised they were not proactive. Part of the "security" fence is simply a tall hurricane fence. Within the last few weeks someone drove through it. I can see the mangled metal along with a repaired fence. It could've been a truck that drove through it or a Prius. Either one could get through quite easily. Doing simple math it's easy to calculate this place takes in tens of thousands of dollars of revenue each month just from their parking spaces. But they also get revenue from their indoor storage lockers. I hope they can find it in their hearts to peel off a few thousand dollars to get a 21st century security system that monitors all their customer's valuable property. Everybody knows cameras that provide good quality video can be purchased very cheaply these days. I'm giving a two star review only because the managers in the office are nice and professional. But I did not discuss my opinion of the security with them simply because I was very upset, and I figured they probably didn't have the power to do anything about it. Ashley was just as professional and helpful as she was over the phone. Great attitude and she's hilarious! She was quick with her service and made my trip quite enjoyable!
